The  Talking Through The Medias opening toss up story.

Ryan Seacrest is ending his first season as host of "Wheel of Fortune" on a high note.

According to series distributor CBS Media Ventures, the syndicated gamer– which just aired its final batch of new episodes for the 2024-2025 TV season — was up year-to-year in both households and total viewers.

Seacrest took over for longtime host Pat Sajak (and joined co-host Vanna White) in September.

Per CBS, "Wheel" was "the only syndicated game show to post growth and was one of only two syndicated series to increase year to year."

"Wheel" averaged 7.93 million viewers this season, with a slight bump of 74,000 vs. last year. In households, the game show posted a 4.6 rating for the season in households, up 1% from the previous year. CBS said that makes it the No. 2 syndicated series in households and total viewers, behind only sister show "Jeopardy!"

Sajak signed off from the daytime "Wheel" last June after more than 40 years as host. He was still seen this season in ABC's primetime edition of "Celebrity Wheel of Fortune," which repped his last turn on the show.

Now comes this part where somebody got blessed and somebody is in need of a miracle. It's the Yay & Yawn of June.

The Yay: 25 Words or Less. They experimented live episodes for the brand new season out this fall on Xumo Play. Now you don't have to watch the previous season's reruns for this live party.

The Yawn: Bingo Blitz and Tic Tac Dough not having any episodes because their seasons respectively have ended. For now at least. Remember when sets were actually real? Yeah.

Big week for me so far. Visited my cousin Margaret for din-din twice in a row and a Pentecostal revival week in my church but there's plenty of time to catch a podcast and this is a segment i'd like to call.....................................................

 Podcasts......you should listen to.

Your recommendation for today is......................

I know June was National Game Show Month but Gateleapers takes something from a UK panel show and makes it to the USA. They touch on pop culture and follow that up with some improv and trivia to make it even more fun. They've had countless fandoms such as Marvel, WWE, Star Trek and others. It's much hilarious and even more fun than it is. So we recommend it as a perfect podcast when you feel depressed. Gateleapers is available on Spotify, Podbean, spreaker and elsewhere.

Rate, review and tell em Game Show Live! sent you.

An X Games competition series could be heading to the small screen after The Challenge producer Bunim/Murray Productions struck a deal with the action sports events company.

The Banijay-owned producer is working up X Games Battleground, a series that will unite 30 of the most iconic and influential X Games athletes in a competition format.

It comes as the company is celebrating 30th anniversary of the brand, which started during the summer of 1995 in Rhode Island and has been responsible for Tony Hawk's first 900 in the Skateboard Vert competition and Travis Pastrana's Double Backflip in the Moto X Best Trick competition.

The event involves sports such as skateboarding, BMX, freestyle motocross, skiing and snowboarding. It has also featured musical artists including Metallica, Tiesto, Nicki Minaj and Macklemore. It was founded by ESPN and aired on the sports network and sister channel ABC, although ESPN sold the property to private equity company MSP Sports Capital in 2022.

In X Games Battleground, current stars and past champions will return for a one-of-a-kind competition. It will crown the top all-around female and male X Games competitors of 2025, as they face high-octane challenges inspired by the history of the games. Bunim/Murray will take out to streamers and broadcasters later this summer.

Bunim/Murray, best known for producing The Real World and competition series The Challenge, which is returning for Season 41 on MTV, is also behind series such as Paramount+'s The Family Stallone and a new docuseries featuring the embattled Chrisley family for Lifetime. Its parent company Banijay also recently launched a Banijay Sports arm.

"X Games is the world's leader in action sports competition, and we're thrilled to be developing an unscripted series with many of the top X Games athletes that will showcase the fearless, extreme action that fans from across the globe have enjoyed for decades," said Julie Pizzi, President & CEO, Bunim/Murray Productions.

"X Games Battleground will be raw and intense—uniting legends and rising stars in a fresh format. It's part of our strategy to tell deeper athlete stories beyond the field of play and bring fans closer to our athletes," added X Games CEO Jeremy Bloom.

On the heels of the monumental 40th season of The Challenge, MTV today announced that an all-new season of TV's longest running reality competition series will premiere Wednesday, July 30 at 8PM ET/PT and is set to roll out globally across MTV's international networks in over 165 countries in the coming months. In The Challenge: Vets and New Threats a new era begins, and the game has never been more unpredictable.

For 40 seasons, generations of battle-hardened Veterans have fought relentlessly for the ultimate prize: the title of Challenge Champion. This season, fresh faces and new threats have entered the arena with one goal: upend the old order and take it all. The Vets, driven by legacy and pride, will need to adapt fast. Their established hierarchy is crumbling, and leaning on past alliances, and experience is no longer reliable - it's about navigating the ever-shifting landscape of alliances, betrayals, and unknown threats. To win, Veterans and New Threats will be forced to work together, unless they're forced to turn on each other. Nothing is guaranteed.

Leading up to premiere, fans will get an exclusive look at the season and introduction to the cast during MTV's The Challenge: Vets and New Threats: Day Zero launch special airing Wednesday, July 23rd at 8PM ET/PT and available the next day on MTV.com, VOD, and on The Challenge YouTube page.

Jimmy Kimmel might not have time for Matt Damon on his late night talk show, but the pair will come face-to-face on the new season of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.

"Millionaire is back," Kimmel, 57, says of the upcoming fourth season of the game show that will kick off on Wednesday, July 23.

Damon, 54, is one of the many stars who will be participating in the beloved trivia show. The actor will team up with Jeopardy! host and legend Ken Jennings for a chance to earn $1 million for charity.

"Do we love Matt Damon or what?" Jennings, 51, asks Kimmel while sitting next to Damon in the clip.

Kimmel fires back, "I'm coming on Jeopardy! with someone you hate!"

Damon and Kimmel's playful rivalry started in 2005 as a running gag on Jimmy Kimmel Live! when the host jokingly apologized to the actor — who was not scheduled for the show — for "running out of time" for him. The twosome have continued their banter over the years as they've taken jabs at each other.

Damon and Jennings aren't the only exciting pair fans will get to watch this summer. Other duos include Joe Buck and Oliver Hudson, Helen Hunt and Dan Bucatinsky, Kal Penn and Jameela Jamil, Brad Goreski and Gary Janetti, Mike Birbiglia and Atsuko Okatsuka, Tramell Tillman and Zach Cherry, Sarah Silverman and Marc Maron, Jordan Kepler and Ronny Chieng, plus Jillian Bell and Chloe Fineman.

In addition to some iconic Hollywood friendships, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire will feature some sweet costar reunions. Those pairings include Community alums Joel McHale and Jim Rash, Workaholics stars Adam Devine and Anders Holm, The Office alums Kate Flannery and Oscar Nuñez, Whose Line Is It Anyway? alums Drew Carey and Aisha Tyler, Deli Boys' stars Asif Ali and Saagar Shaikh plus CNN's Jake Tapper and Kaitlan Collins.

The North American International Championships are an exciting time in the world of competitive Pokemon. But even if you don't play competitively, the NAIC stream usually offers up a few exciting announcements for all Pokemon fans. Along with Twitch drops and Mystery Gift codes, this year's NAIC live stream unveiled a brand-new Pokemon game show. The Gottta Catch 'Em All Show is a new interactive Pokemon experience that will air on Twitch.

The Pokemon Company announced The Gotta Catch 'Em All Show during the NAIC live stream, as shared by Serebii. It will be a new interactive format hosted by YouTuber and comedian Brian David Gilbert, commonly known as BDG. He has already got experience with trivia game shows thanks to his work as a fact checker for the Dropout trivia game show, Um Actually.

His new Pokemon game show will air sooner than you think, with its premiere on Twitch set for June 27th at 2 PM EDT. The schedule for future episodes is not yet available.

A trailer for the new Pokemon game show debuted during the NAIC stream this morning, showing off a few details for those tuning in live. As of now, it hasn't been reshared by The Pokemon Company outside the stream, but will likely be available as promotion for The Gotta Catch 'Em All Show in the near future.

So far, we know that the show will involve contestants collecting Pokemon, which can have different effects on the progress of the show. The game show is also set to take advantage of the Twitch platform, offering interactive ways for Twitch viewers to engage with the show. Just what that interaction will look like, we'll have to wait and see

. If you want to make sure you don't miss the new Gotta Catch 'Em All game show, you can follow Pokemon on their official Twitch channel. Many Pokemon livestreams also air simultaneously on YouTube, but this hasn't yet been confirmed for the new Pokemon game show.

If there's one thing Tic Tac Dough 2025 has learned, they should've had a real board instead of a CGI one. It's the subject of In A Snap.

See? This is what the 2025 version should've done. Game Show Guru Andrew Hain has this.

Love this recreation of the board from the 1978-1986 version of Tic-Tac-Dough by my friend and game show historian Adam Nedeff this past weekend at the Davidson-Gundy Alumni Center and Events Venue in Richardson, Texas! As a matter of fact, it was the first game show to use computer graphics using nine Apple II computers all hooked up to a central Altair 8800 computer! I don’t know if this will ultimately end up being used in the National Game Show Archives at the Strong Museum of Play in Rochester, New York but props to Adam on this amazing recreation!

Now then, as far as the Bingo Blitz hopper you see on TV is concerned..................
