I dreamed a dream...and now I just woke up!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXgbZWNpIX0
(theme fades out)

Why, it must be me, Pierre kelly for another session of GSN The Know, and I decided to do it on MLK day because I have jury duty next week and that's just it, but hey, we can still talk GSN even those in teh prison system want it. Time to let the dogs loose with Quarter 1. Hilty is the warden and he's got teh key to it. Unlock that sucker!

The New year continued to pour it on as family Feud locked up the first 20 slots, but only 19 of them. Now the people stuck in a lockers in a locker room.....

http://www.qwizx.com/gssfx/usa/pyra-clock.wav

A 3-way tie between 100K Pyramid, Card Sharks and DED got stumbled in a 3-legged race along with more Pyramid to show for, Feud, Password Plus a double dose of Sharks and a triplet of Feud. First quarter is done and we lock it up.

We head into the 2nd quarter and teh Family trade isn't until March 5th. So, to not keep them waiting any loinger, matter of fact, I'll wait even longer for the Bible Challenge, we decided to learn more about this show.....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51tpgGxvEgw

Under the Sink.
In text form, it reads.....

At G-Stone Motors, a state-of-the-art GMC and Ford dealership in Middlebury, Vermont, the saying is, “We’ll take anything in trade.” And they mean it. Founder Gardner Stone will trade you a beautiful new car or truck for anything you’ve got that he thinks he can sell—pigs, a hot air balloon, coffins, maple syrup, dolls, a shoe collection. But Stone’s son Todd and daughter Darcy, who work with him in the business, usually have very different ideas about what makes a good trade, and they have the unenviable task of re-selling whatever their father has bought. Each 30-minute episode will feature the outrageous, hilarious, hotly contested barter stories at G-Stone Motors—with a simmering stew of family drama cooking alongside. FAMILY TRADE is produced by Eli Frankel’s Rogue Atlas Productions in association with Lionsgate, with Frankel as Executive Producer.

Yawn. Moving on.....

This just in. Kirk Franklin will join the American Bible Challenge to be musical co-host alongside Jeff Foxworthy and adding more choir members to it's 8-member choir making it about....um....12 or 16 to give the 2nd season a way better season. My friend Alisa's going to love this. Speed reading along now....

Remember what Meredith Viera did to Millionaire? Well, she may have a talk show to rival that of Steve Harvey and Katie Couric. Finally....

Hollywood Squares may come to casinos everywhere. Hip Hop Squares.....don't know. But we go to halftime and last week, Justin TImberlake gave you a warm welcome, now he's here to do a new song that'll soon blow up the charts.....

Halftime's over and we're on to the second half, but before we do that, please click on this....

www.swagbucks.com

You can earn a whole bunch of points just by doing surveys, polls, games and a whole bunch more. And if you got enough points, you may earn free stuff. Why not go there? It's swagbucks.com, and tell your friends about it on this blog. Last quarter, we talked about the Family Trade, but what did the fans say? We start with....

"Doesn't sound one bit interesting. I think I'll pass on this one."

Pass you shall. Next!

"Survey says, 'That's 30 minutes of my life I will never get back!'"
It'll be the worst 30 you've ever wasted. Who's up next?

"This sounds good.
As I said before, this sounds a lot like Hardcore Pawn. It airs on the same night as Hardcore Pawn (Tuesdays), although I think HP will be in reruns by then."

Please....no......next comment.....

"Just saw the commercial for Family Trade right now, before Super Password came on. Doesn't look too interesting to me, and it's out of place on this network."

Way out of place for the whole network in general. Here's another one....

"I respect your opinion, but I don't see this catching on. It already has the disadvantage of being a reality show on GSN, and like BTC, it's a show done (likely better) on other networks. Not to mention, if (when?) it fails, it could torpedo the entire night it's on. I'm going with the majority; it'll run the episodes it shot and go away."

That's my friend David talking about why reality shows don't work because last week, i talked to you about it. How about one more?

"Why would anyone want to watch someone trade pigs? Forget it. There's no way I'm watching this garbage. "

I rest my case. Fourth quarter.

Yearly traditions come & go, but GSN has one.....Black & White TV. Ever since the very begining, GSN has shown many classics, such as What's My Line, I've got A Secret and more. However, the viewship steadliy declined due to age and now it's becoming once a year. For 2 weeks, they show classsics on a late night time slot. The reasons why black & white have become out of place these dyas is because of cigarette ads. At the time before the 70's, it was okay to air ads with smoking. These days, they've become a PSA to stop smoking. As far as the shows are concerned, they perofrm to low ratings and if they were on mornings.....that's a different story. But Youtube and Hulu are the only things that keep the memories alive. As for 2013, we don't know if it's permanent, so keep your eyes open.

Let's shut off the lights and call it a day. Have a great weekend to celebrate our brotherhood.
Remember to get into our FB group page and tell us about it. Tweet me @ Johnny_Arcade, friend me as Pierre Jason Kelly or email me at coppockonsports@yahoo.com and when I'm on the GSN forums, I'm Gameheadz. See you guys later and play on, playas.

Coming Attractions!!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xn2rZLNib9s

Why did the Lumineers sing "Ho Hey?" It's because they're hitmakers and GSN The Know will apply that to the title.

-We say Hi to the ratings.
-We say Howdy to Family Trade as we go Under The Sink
-We say "How's it Going?" to the fans talking about the show
-And I'll say hmmm.......to why Black & White TV has become a end of year tradition.

And I have to do it on MLK weekend. Huh? GSN The Know. Say hi to the other guys.

Cold harsh reality

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXgbZWNpIX0
(theme fades out)

Now that we're all ready to go, GSN The Know is on. It's about time you stayed home and what the whole network, because freezing rain and sleet, sometimes snow where you live made you stay in and grab the Starbucks or hot coccoa with soup or chilli and watch from sunup to sundown. We got a hot blog all warmed up for you, so Hilty, start the first quarter for me, please......

http://www.qwizx.com/gssfx/usa/gtp-spaces.wav

Family Feud rang in the new year as if alarm clocks kept ringing with the first 17 on board, but what about the bottom 10 who kept their ears ringing? Let's find out.

http://www.qwizx.com/gssfx/usa/pyra-clock.wav

100K Pyramid and DOND tied to start the list off, another DOND came and Family Feud filled in the slots with 100K Pyramid in a double decker sandwich between DOND and Password Plus. Yucky! That's the first quarter, Hilty to chill out now.

http://www.qwizx.com/gssfx/usa/po10-h2hlockin.wav

Now the second quarter and as promised, Family Trade and Bible Challenge will be on in March. Let's all....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niOhsKQFIOA

Circle your Calendars.

First, Family Trade will be on March 5th, but for all you Bible Geeks out there, the challenge won't be until March 21st, which is 2 weeks later on a Thursday, teh most famous night to gather your families and watch. Hopefully it'll attract more eyeballs and there won't be any football to watch. Oh wait, the NCAA tourney. I won't talk about that, but let's keep on.....

http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news/2013/01/10/steve-harvey-renewed-for-second-season-in-national-syndication-380502/20130110nbc01/

Didn't you see the People's choice awards this past week? Well, Steve harvey did. The Bald-headed wonder got a 2nd season of his talk show and won a People's Choice award. Guess watching Family Feud pays off.

As if you didn't notice, Meredith Viera is leaving Millionaire this year after signed on as syndie host in 2002. Heck, it even was shown on GSN years ago. But there could be a possibilty that Regis may return to do the thing. WHo knows?

http://gameshows.about.com/b/2013/01/14/the-2013-about-com-readers-choice-awards-are-on.htm

And finally, with my blog 1 year old, I ask you to vote as Best Game Show Fan site for the 2013 readers choice award. It pays to be rewarded....sometimes. Halftime is up now and with a new Miss America crowned, Ali Rogers of South Cacaklacking, er, Carolina, should've won the thing, but here's her talent to entertain you guys.

And the fun's not done. It's time for the 2nd half and we have a new sponsor to the blog.

http://www.swagbucks.com/

It is Swagbucks. You sign up, you don't pay a darn thing, and you're in a world of earning dough. You can take surveys on this, you can play games on this, you could even have special offers. As if that wasn't enough, you can take social media to fruition and if you've got enough, you could cash in for some stuff. What have you got to lose? Go to the link I just show you, invite your friends and if you're lucky, you could score mega bucks. How easy is that? So hit up swagbucks.com and tell Pierre kelly sent me here. Alright on to the 3rd quarter, and with Drew Carey's show out of Fridays for good, the fans thought about it, starting with.....

"Paging Dan Patterson...

Seriously, I have no real problem with Baggage. Who knows, it may perform good on Friday nights. Only numbers will tell. Whose Line? though, looked more like a game show than any improv show. Improv-a-Bomba I knew would bomb in a few weeks after it debuted after I saw that first episode. I was right."

And they were right. next comment.....

"I didn't think Improv-a-Ganza was an embarrassment or a disaster. It's just that too many stretches of the show were pretty light on laughs. Which is a problem for an alleged comedy show."

That's what the problem was when it first aired 2 years ago. Why did they put it on teh last day of the work week? Anyways, on to......

"I miss Flashback Friday too, but we'll have to see down the road what's in store. I like -------'s idea as much as the next guy, but I couldn't see it happening without a picked show in a block."

I miss it, too. We move on to......

"Why they don't dust off Burt Luddin's Love Buffet is beyond me instead of the more trashy Baggage."

Huh? What? That's not going to happen. Trust me, it won't. Another Comment......

"Not a surprise that Improv is gone.. it was really stinking up the ratings there (Are we really THAT surprised?)"

ummmm......yes. As for Family trade, this does make sense.....

"Family Trade is still lurking in the weeds, ready to horrify GSN viewers worse than any Improv-a-Ganza episode."

Somehow it could be in your driveway. Let's drive to teh 4th quarter.

GSN & reality shows don't go hand-in-hand unlike any couple at a mall somewhere. Just look around, you'll find them. But since the 2004 changeover when reality TV was on the fringe, (save that for Aussie import "Who Dares Wins" before that) Spy TV & Average Joe popped up out of nowhere. Even Kenny Vs. Spenny was actually a reality competition. GSN chose "The Amazing Race" over "Survivor" and recently, it popped up at 2, sometimes 1 in the morning. Last year, "Dancing With The Stars" came to the network and people clamored when it would go away or not. It did. With Family trade up in March, will that ever continue?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VovXGW8pSR4

With that, it comes to an end. We want you to stay safe out there on the roads when it's icy wherever you are.
