(Hello my game show freaks, our sponsor for the month of July is Think spending too much money is a waste of time? Let it go with They give you ways to spend money so that you don't have to get an IPOD you wanted for Christmas. That is and now, feed your mind on this.)

VO: Announcer boy here. On today's edition......

A quick fire way at the ratings......

"The Chase" on season 2? What could they be thinking?....

ANd Baggage? Does it need to pack it bags and leave? ....Yes, form the Wilton-North Building where we've got your vote, it's....

GSN The Know, the blog that almost knows a lot about everything. Here is Pierre Kelly.

Me: Welcome back to the blog where the only tea party is serving sweet tea in 32 oz. cups. It's July 4th week, so we do a tradition by standing and saying the pledge of allegiance. Say it with me:

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Now please continue to stand as my hometown hero Lauren Autrey sings the national anthem.

Play ball! TIme to rocket and Hilty's got the first period all ready to wind things up like a music box.

It seems that Family Feud once again dominated the charts like a chain gang taking all 11 spots, but let's see what the bottom 10 has to say as the music box slows down.....

This time, all 3 Match Game shows were parted in between $100K Pyramid and Harvey Feud with Baggage getting drowned in the very last spots. That ends the first. Hilty winds up with this sound....

Time to stretch like the 7th inning, but don't go anywhere, because we got news on "The Chase," Plus a whole lot more right after we take a T.O.

ANd back on the Know, "The Chase" is just a month away, but GSN decdied they wanted to play favorites by greenlighting a 2nd season. And what's the inspiration behind all this.....

Oh yeah, that guy. He made TBS sitcoms and renewed them just as soon as they went on the air, but "The Chase" hadn't aired just yet and they're getting another season on top of all this? Well, to put in in a movie quote.....

"What are you, stupid or something? What's your problem?"

Well, another problem is....they need chasers, which is somebody to take the Beast down and to do that, I have a link for you.....

Meanwhile, "The American Bible Challenge" decided to take the show on the Israel. The program will focus solely on the questions based out of a country that made Bible history. The 3rd season is still up in the air until 2014.

A while ago, we talked to you about the 2013 upfronts. Some aren't moving, some are stuck on the yellow light and others....well, we haven't introduced them yet, but here they are. Tell me what you think about them, but for now, let's look at the skinny.....

AS SEEN ON TV (working title) - AS SEEN ON TV takes a revealing look at the home inventors trying to conquer the 150 billion dollar a year infomercial industry, an industry that has introduced such classic products as The Snuggie, the Sham Wow and the Shake Weight into American Culture. As seen through the eyes of Chairman Kevin Harrington and his empire at AS SEEN ON TV, every week hundreds of hopeful inventors submit wacky new ideas for review. Most of them never make it past the first look, but each week a few are granted the chance to come to the Clearwater, Florida offices and pitch their inventions to Kevin and his discerning team of marketers. The stakes are huge - a successful product can penetrate the zeitgeist and create a millionaire overnight, but a misstep by Kevin and his team means hundreds of thousands of wasted dollars. AS SEEN ON TV is produced by Al Roker Productions with Al Roker serving as Executive Producer.
(Yawns) Pass. Next....

SWARM (working title) - Can you survive the SWARM? In this fun, fast-paced, physical game show, a pool of 100 contestants must make split-second decisions in response to multiple questions. Run to the wrong answer and you’re eliminated. Don’t make it to an answer at all and you’re eliminated. With each question, the pool of remaining contestants diminishes. Will you be swayed by the swarm or will you be able to think quickly and clearly and stay alive? Only the smartest and the quickest will be left standing. SWARM is produced by Zoo Productions (“Family Game Night,” “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?”) with Barry Poznick and John Stevens serving as Executive Producers.
This oughta be good.

SKIN WARS (working title) - Advertisers, photographers, event promoters and magazine editors have all discovered the power of the sexy art of body painting. It takes patience, talent and artistic flair to deal with the unique challenges of painting a three-dimensional body. SKIN WARS puts these incredible artists to the test in a series of unbelievable and visual challenges. One week the camouflage challenge may have them blending their models into an existing environment, the next they may be turning people into animals. Each week, incredible artistic ability is on display and in the end America’s best body painter will be crowned. SKIN WARS is produced by Michael Levitt Productions with Michael Levitt and Jill Goularte serving as Executive Producers. Robin Barcus Slonina serves as Producer.
I'm thinking it might be a one-season wonder, but we'll see how it goes.

PENNY PINCHERS (working title) - There are some people who are cheap. And there are others who celebrate their cheapness and wear it as a badge of honor. These are the people you'll find on PENNY PINCHERS. In this weekly competition, the tightest of America’s tight wads put their cheapness to the test in the hopes of winning a cash prize. Who can do the most with the least? Who can stretch a budget the furthest? Are you a dumpster-diver? An extreme recycler? A pack rat? This is the show that turns your obsession into cold hard cash. Created by Josh Goldstein of JG Productions, Inc., PENNY PINCHERS is produced by Mission Control Media (“Face Off,” “Hollywood Game Night”) with Michael Agbabian and Dwight Smith serving as Executive Producers. Josh Goldstein also serves as Executive Producer and Marc Goldstein serves as Consultant.
Wait a minute....I'm a penny pincher myself and this might be a great game show. This oculd be the next TABC. or not. ANd finally.....

SAY WHAT? (working title) - SAY WHAT? takes the parlor game of Telephone to new comedic extremes. In each episode, two teams of five players are tasked with sending information down the line, but there is always a twist. Can you identify a song played on a kazoo? Can you paint with only ketchup and mustard? Can you act out a movie title in 10 seconds? The further the correct answer travels down the line, the more money the team earns. Based on the format by Nippon Television, SAY WHAT? is produced by Essential 11 and Smoke & Mirrors Creative with Essential 11’s Kevin Healey and Jesse Fawcett and Smoke & Mirrors Creative’s Darryl Trell and Howard Kitrosser serving as Executive Producers.
One pretty nice game show I'll watch for.

(song stops)

So we been through them all, but we have one more story. It involves Monday Nights. Known for WWE Raw and the NFL in the fall season, "Chain Reaction" makes a monday marathon out of it. The last time they did: Catch-21. It didn't work and Feud replaced it. I'm guessing it might stick around in the long run.

That was the 2nd period powered by and gives you the 2nd intermission. Here's last year GTK know-it-all awards performer Kristin Perez with an ID4 dance for you guys.....

We're almost done. Time for the 3rd period.

Baggage was a monster GSN hit known for its secrets in bags of all kinds. Through the 3 seasons, Jerry Springer maintained control and when it was cancelled, all of that went to syndication. But let's talk about why they put it on Friday Nights. Fridays are the one night that can't sell an audience. Prior to that, they had FLashback Fridays. That didn't work. WHy? They got sick & tired of classics from the leases and have had enough.  Back to Baggage for a minute. Last night airings and Friday night airings all went down the drain from here on out. In fact, bottom of the ladder ratings drove viewers away into.....going out to eat or....watching something else. If it continues to do its job, we can have one show replace it like....."The Pyramid" or.....1 Vs. 100 with Carrie Ann Inaba. EIther way, they don't work. Perhaps another GSN show we haven't seen in a while could solve that problem in a hurry.

Time to light the fuse and run like hell. TOday's blog is brought to you by Barbecues. If you want one, tell everyone to come.
