Livewire! 5/22

Madison Brunoehler: From Game Show Live!, this is.....................

Livewire! Your news.......with sass. Presented by replaceable statues. You break it....we actually buy it.

And now from our Game Show Live! Newsroom, here comes Pierre Kelly!

Me: Thank you Madi2theMax, welcome to Livewire! If you think Deja Vu is another word for dream, think again. Deja Reve is actually French for "Already Dreamt." something I learned playing Swag IQ. So stop dreaming, wake up into reality and......let's......get wired!

LE RIDE follows the story of the first English speaking team to ride in the toughest sporting event on earth, The Tour de France. In 1928 a small under-resourced, untested team from New Zealand and Australia lined up in Paris next to Europe's best riders. 168 riders started only 41 finished!
Phil Keoghan has literally brought this remarkable underdog story back to life, riding an original 1928 steel bicycle with no gears, retracing the exact route and sticking to the same schedule. It was an average of 150 miles a day, completely circumnavigating France for a total of 3,338 miles in just 26 days, including the 'Death Stage' which took Phil almost 24 hours to complete.
" ... it's the most brutal challenge I've ever faced, insane distances over the world's toughest mountains, but this is a story I really felt I had to bring back to life" said Phil Keoghan. "Many experts considered the Australasian team to be a complete joke. More riders failed to finish the 1928 tour than any other in history. This was a HELL ON WHEELS race of attrition that was designed to eliminate as many riders as possible, most of the roads were unpaved; the course was almost twice as long as today's Tour de France and the bikes weighed twice as much as a modern racing bike."

Lucy Kennedy wouldn't take up the job as presenter of Blind Date if she was asked again.
The Ireland's Got Talent host told the Herald she wouldn't be interested in the position if the dating show was rebooted by TV3, and claimed she turned it down initially because she preferred the format of Ireland's Got Talent.
Lucy had been tipped to host the Irish version of Cilla Black's famous matchmaking game show, but the role eventually went to Al Porter.
The show was then axed in the wake of allegations of inappropriate behaviour made against Porter.

The drama behind the scenes of the Daytime Emmys is getting as juicy as the soaps they honor.
At least three top daytime veterans on Monday called for a boycott of the event after the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ recent decision to revoke the awards of two actresses over submissions errors, while allowing a male actor who committed a similar infraction to keep his.
Emmy-nominated producer Michael Caruso, Emmy-winning director and producer Sonia Blangiardo and Emmy-winning actress and producer Crystal Chappell told TheWrap that they “are not willing to participate in future Emmy competitions” until NATAS agrees to an outside audit of all submission reels in the digital series category and clears up the underlying issues about submissions.
A spokesman for NATAS denied that there was any double standard and rejected a call for an audit. “All individuals were subject to the same standards regarding each rule,” the organization said in a statement. NATAS had no comment on the calls for a boycott.
The question of what exactly constitutes an episode is at the center of what has become a heated debate in the digital series world.

Bob Guiney is now a proud papa.
Bob and his wife Jessica Canyon have announced they are expecting their first child together, a baby boy.

"We are both so excited," Bob, 47, told Us Weekly. "I feel so lucky."

Bob said Jessica is 12 weeks along in her pregnancy and the baby is due in 2019.

Now we go to.....

So Impressed! with Madi2TheMax. We stuffed our Game Show Live mailroom with so many requests asking you to hear her do more Pun-Pressions......and here they come!

If you’re the type of person who watches game shows and screams out the answers as soon as you think you know them—and really, who isn’t?—then have we got a Twitter account for you. Wheel Of Fortune Answers (@wofanswers) is a relatively new parody account that fills in the blanks on Wheel Of Fortune puzzles with such confidence you almost don’t notice that they’re all 100 percent wrong.
For Instance....

There's also....

And my personal favorite....

Snap your fingers and snap out of it, it's.....

The 60-second Dance scoop with our senior dance correspondent Kristyn Burtt. Let's dance!!!!!

Thanks K, back to the news.

An M please, Vanna....

Joe Moore and Pat Sajak met during the Vietnam War when they were broadcasters on Armed Forces Radio in Saigon. The friendship that started in wartime Vietnam grew through the years that followed as they enjoyed success in their chosen professions — Moore as Hawaii’s highest-rated television newscaster, Sajak as the genial host of “Wheel of Fortune,” one of America’s most popular television game shows.
That friendship will bring Sajak back to Hawaii this month when he joins Moore on the stage of Hawaii Theatre for a fundraiser production of “Dial M For Murder.” The show opens Thurday. All proceeds go towards the cost of maintaining the historic 96-year old landmark.
Moore stars as Tony Wendice, an English tennis pro now retired, who discovers that his wife, Margot Wendice, has been cheating on him with an American television writer, Max Halliday. Tony puts a plan in motion to have Morgot killed under circumstances that will make it look like a burglary gone wrong, but — Spoiler Alert! Spoiler Alert! Spoiler Alert! — things don’t go as planned.

And now for your rant of the day by my Trivia App Water Cooler charter member, Matt Ottinger on the host of America Says.

John Michael Higgins is the character actor that you hire when your situation comedy does a game show episode.  He's your go-to guy when you want someone to play an insincere empty suit.  He's probably a decent guy to get all the work he has, and he might be just fine at this, but the clips just have an unreal quality to me because I expect him to be in character.

(song stops)

if getting the album "Slow The Devil" isn't worth the money, then our Game show Gypsy queen Robyn Cage has something for you. She's releasing all of her latest songs....on Youtube. So why don't we one.

That's all for now, but remember one thing: Do the Writers of Wheel of fortune blame themselves for missed solves by contestants?

So until next time and all the on playas.

Orange Flag Day

This week......More on the new Double Dare.......

2 hosts in hot water for something worse.....

And Cash Show's payment plan. All this and.....

The $1 challenge explained.

Madison Brunoehler: From coast to coast..............

And Across America.....and the world.........this is..............

Now here is America's favorite contestant, Pierre Kelly!!!!!

Me: Thank you Madi2TheMax and this of course is  Game show Live! As live as it gets, as live as it happens and as live whenever you feel like it. Let's get into it with......

 The Opening Toss-Up story.

The new version of Double Dare is fast approaching its premiere date.  Flasher snapped a few pics of the brand new set......

But what about the newer obstacles in the obstacle course? Well, we'll explain via video....

Even so, we get to know the host better.

We can't wait for the premiere this week.

After this commercial word, 2 got caught in the sexual allegation game. That's...............when Game Show Live! returns.

(fade to break)

Madison: Some members of our viewing audience will receive....

A 2-liter drink of Pepsi. Something your father always wanted so that he can have it instead of beer sitting in front of the TV watching Friends on TBS. Now back to our daddy longlegs, ierre Kelly!!!!

Me: Thank you Madi and welcome back. Later on, which weighs more, a ton of feathers or a ton of bricks?

WIth the #metoo movement getting to be more interesting every so often, 2 hosts were in the public eye for sexual allegations and no one knows it.

The first of which is Jamie Foxx of Beat Shazam. Back in 2002, he slapped a woman with parts and TMZ spotted it out.  A spokesman for the Las Vegas police tells PEOPLE, “On June 8, 2018 a female victim came to the LVMPD and alleged that a sexual assault occurred in the Las Vegas area in 2002 and named Jamie Foxx as the suspect. A report was taken and the incident will be investigated. Due to the nature of the crime, no further details can be released.”
Foxx’s lawyer issued a statement to PEOPLE, which included that the actor was seeking legal action against his accuser.
“Jamie Foxx emphatically denies that this incident ever occurred, and he will be filing a report with the Las Vegas Police Department against the woman for filing a false police report against him,” said the attorney. “The first time Mr. Foxx became aware of this woman’s absurd claims about an incident that supposedly occurred sixteen years ago was when TMZ contacted his representatives today about this story.”
The other person to come out most recently was......Chris Hardwick.
As soon as he got caught making out with Chloe Dykstra, this is what he said.
“I was heartbroken to read Chloe’s post. Our three year relationship was not perfect — we were ultimately not a good match and argues — even shouted at each other — but I loved her and did my best to uplift and support her as a partner and companion in any way and at no time did I sexually assault her,” said Hardwick, 46.
He continued by describing their relationship at the time and claiming the actress had been unfaithful to him when they were a couple.
“When we were living together, I found out that Chloe had cheated on me, and I ended the relationship,” Hardwick said. “For several weeks after we broke up, she asked to get back together with me and even told me she wanted to have kids with me, ‘build a life’ with me and told me that I was ‘the one,’ but I did not want to be with someone who was unfaithful.”
“I’m devastated to read that she is now accusing me of conduct that did not occur,” Hardwick, who is married to model Lydia Hearst, added. “I was blindsided by her post and always wanted the best for her. As a husband, a son, and future father, I do not condone any kind of mistreatment of women.”

Chris Hardwick's future as host of The Wall has yet to be determined, according to NBC.
The Peacock network on Saturday released a statement in light of allegations of abuse leveled against Hardwick by ex-girlfriend Chloe Dykstra.
It reads as follows:
These allegations about Chris Hardwick took us by surprise as we have had a positive working relationship with him. However, we take allegations of misconduct very seriously. Production on The Wall does not begin until September, and in the meantime we are continuing to assess the situation and will take appropriate action based on the outcome.
NBC's statement comes just hours after AMC announced that it would not air Season 2 of Hardwick's Talking, which was scheduled to premiere on Sunday night. What's more, Hardwick will no longer moderate planned AMC and BBC America panels at San Diego Comic-Con in July. No word yet on the future of post-Walking Dead talk show Talking Dead, which Hardwick has hosted since 2011.
Hardwick's former company, Nerdist Industries, has also addressed the controversy, insisting that Hardwick has had "no operational involvement with Nerdist" for years. Meanwhile, all references to Hardwick were scrubbed from
NBC's response comes two days after Dykstra, an actress and former Nerdist web host, published a blog post on Medium accusing an unnamed ex of emotional and sexual abuse during their three-year relationship; many quickly connected her account to her relationship with Hardwick. In response, Hardwick released a statement on Friday, denying that he ever sexually assaulted her..
So let this be a lesson to you: Game show hosts aren't like love magnets.
BYUtv, a family entertainment network, today announced the premiere date of two new unscripted shows "Best Cake Wins" and "Donna Hay - Basics to Brilliance Kids."
Acquired by BYUtv, the Australian cooking show "Donna Hay - Basics to Brilliance Kids" is set to premiere in the U.S. on Tuesday, June 19th at 6:00pm MT followed by "Best Cake Wins," a baking competition show at 6:30pm MT.
Created by Toronto-based content production companies, Blue Ant Media and Architect Films with BYUtv, "Best Cake Wins" is a fun and friendly baking competition series designed to make a child's most desired birthday cake a reality. On "Best Cake Wins," kids design their dream cake based on their own artwork and two expert bakers take these concepts and bring them to life. The birthday boy or girl ultimately decides which cake wins. "Best Cake Wins" is currently airing on the Makeful network in Canada.
"We are thrilled to further diversify our programming roster with these cooking shows that appeal to families and viewers of all ages," said Michael Dunn, managing director of BYUtv. "These two newly acquired shows combine food, family and fun to further emphasize our commitment to creating content that is cross-generational and brings families together."

We have a Game Show Live! follow along on Pasadena's newest wacky game: Buzz'd out. With just one week of action left to go in the hollywood fringe fest, something exicting came......

Yes Baby! Even though our cameras were there for the show, we decided to let the pictures speak for itself.

Even the video tells a story.

As far as this Saturday is concerned, they have a chance to win some prizes, like what, Madison Brunoehler?

Madison: They'll win free Frozen Yogurt from 21 Choices, because Baskin Robbins has them off by 11, a free pizza meal from The Pizza Press in Pasadena, giving Cici's Pizza a bad name and tickets to an amazing Magic Show, but since they couldn't afford a trip to Vegas to see either David Copperfield or Seigfreid & Roy, they decided to go to The 49 boxes. Because sadly 50 is way too many. Back to you.......Houdini.

The real live online quiz truth in real live online quiz news, suckers!

The Q decided that giving away $250 isn't spiffy enough. SO they decided to up the ante to.......$1000. And....they got rid of the 4:30 games to make things even more interesting. Very interesting.

Meanwhile, Arena Trivia has a twitter page:

Go there for fun facts and future mobs that you can join.

Cash show decided to tweet this:

Yesterday, people sent in videos to Beau and fired them at will by the time today's game was over.

To the big one of big ones, HQ.

We're not kidding.

Double Dare‘s Marc Summers will co-host Sunday’s HQ Trivia game alongside Scott Rogowsky — and Nickelodeon is promising a potential live sliming on the app, too.
“Some shows are format driven and others are host driven. HQ is both, and Scott Rogowsky definitely holds it down for all hosts out there,” Summers, 66, tells PEOPLE in an exclusive statement. “The game is fun, and because of his amazing personality and quick wit, sometimes I don’t even care if I answer questions correctly! Scott is a superstar and I am honored to share the stage this Sunday, and give away lots of money and a huge Double Dare prize!”
Sunday’s cash prize will be a whopping $50,000, and one lucky player will win a Double Dare VIP experience, complete with a trip to L.A. for a taping of Nickelodeon’s rebooted kids game show.
HypGames, Inc. — a sports entertainment leader — announced today they've added an arcade action basketball competition to their free mobile game platform, HypSports. The game is the second on the HypSports platform that offers real cash to winners. In an industry first, it combines the appointment mechanics of popular trivia apps with the skill-based action of best-selling sports video games.
The new competition joins HypSports' full schedule of daily digital events, including the season-long sport and esport fantasy game, HypSports Showdown, and the daily trivia show, Trivia Clash.
"The success of HQ Trivia does not go unnoticed in our industry. They've proved that people want to compete in live daily events for cash prizes. We've used our background in creating some of the most popular sports video games to build a new kind of playable media channel that offers sports fans and gamers a daily destination to feed their competitive nature in a variety of ways," said Mike Taramykin, CEO of HypSports.
With the introduction of Basket Brawl, HypSports sets a new standard as the only mobile contest app that offers a full schedule of both daily and season-long competition. In addition to providing a schedule of events, the HypSports platform allows on-the-spot event creation, custom competitive events, and unique partnership opportunities, including integration into live sporting events.
"We're already working on our next release. This is just the beginning," said Taramykin.
HypSports is available to download free on the App Store for iPhone and iPad, and Google Play for Android devices.

Hey WWE, give us a trivia app, too.

Instead of creating its own HQ Trivia competitor, Facebook has taken a broader approach and created an entire gaming platform.
The company announced polls for Live and on demand videos as well as new gamification features for Live videos. Partners like Insider, BuzzFeed and Fresno can add polls, quizzes and challenges to both individual videos as well as entire game show series.
Confetti by Insider is an interactive pop culture trivia game show that will air daily. Like HQ, Confetti will let you see what your friends answer, but on an every day basis. Cash prizes are on offer if you answer all the questions right; you'll split the pot if more than one person gets them all. Outside Your Bubble by BuzzFeed News will apparently challenge players to guess what others "across the cultural divide" are thinking, while What's in the Box by Fresno will let you guess what's in a closed box. Guess correctly to win prizes.
In addition to these interactive video features, Facebook is adding more content to Watch and rolling out Top Fan badges to more creator communities. There's also a new video template for Pages that puts video and community more prominently on a Page. Creators and publishers can try it out, and revert back easily, as well. Finally, there's a new Brand Collabs Manager, which will let brands search and find creators on Facebook to make deals and partnerships.

And that sadly was the real live online quiz truth in real live online quiz news, suckers!!!!!

Okay, on to our Gamestop Game Break, and it's time for another edition of.....

Dramatic episode description readings. What Big Bang Theory episode am I about to recite from?

The guys decide to go to a special midnight screening of Raiders of the Lost Ark which has 21 seconds of unseen footage. However when they arrive at the theater, they are made to wait in a long queue, making Sheldon whine about how Leonard, Howard and Raj wasted time by having dinner. Later Wil Wheaton arrives and is immediately allowed entry without having to stand in a queue due to his celebrity status, which angers an already-impatient Sheldon. Eventually the guys are barred from watching the movie as the theatre is fully occupied. Just as the four are about to leave, Sheldon discovers a side door and enters it. Leonard, Howard and Raj follow Sheldon and find him holding some film cans, having stolen the reels of the movie in retribution for being denied from watching the movie. Wheaton too finds Sheldon holding the movie reels, leading to a mob of angry Raiders (and Wheaton) chasing the four from the theater, mimicking the opening scene of Raiders of the Lost Ark. Meanwhile, Amy decides to spend the evening with Penny and Bernadette, who are planning a "girls' night", despite her initially planning to go with the guys to Raiders of the Lost Ark. As Amy had never been to a girls' night before, she grosses out Penny and Bernadette with descriptions about her female parts as she thinks that is what girls talk about and looks up Wikipedia to determine sleepover customs, which Penny and Bernadette reluctantly go along with. During Truth or Dare, Amy and Bernadette get on Penny's case about Leonard. Annoyed, Penny storms off to her bedroom. Later, Amy finds out that girls engage in lesbianism during sleepovers and enters Penny's bedroom. The episode ends with Amy trying to indulge in lesbian sex with a horrified Penny. This puzzles Bernadette, who would rather eat raw cookie dough.

So what is this episode title? Think on it after a Google Play music interlude from Megan Lenius.

So....that episode description I was reading comes from season 4 and it's.....

The 21-second Excitation. Aren't you excited that you were right?

Our chief mechanic of the PYL Big Board Stewdippin is now a father. What better way to spend this past father's day than with this video?

Final story is this: BET is developing the first ever Laundromat Olympics to take place at a local Laundromat in Atlanta. 200 participants will fold, bleach and play arcade games while learning about the laundromat and its history.....

Well, somebody dry my suit, it's....

The Lightning Rant. 90 seconds to talk about the Cash Show payouts starting from.................

Cash Show is the big brother to HQ and it's payout system is...well.....something. 5 questions in a row means the next set of questions is a pot of gold. Question 6 is the one that seems to be a carryover to the next question because most people believe the next question here is worth a penny. From there, pocket change comes your way all the way to Q12. So up to $5 can be won or lost determined by how far you'll go in the prize questions department. Hangtime has lower payouts every so often, so don't expect a bigger payout thinking only 2 winners can split $150. Cash show has $3000, so look for pennies to rain from the sky.

That's it for this week. Today's consolation prize is a cape. Act like Batman, Superman, Space Ghost or one of The Incredibles.

Don't forget to email me at, Pierre Jason Kelly on FB and @Johnny_Arcade on twitter. Also I'm on Snapchat as MisterGSN and Instagram as Mister_WCW. We will return next Wednesday, and until we return, Play on playas.
