The 1st annual Game Show Live! honors

Madison Brunoehler: Live.....from Playhouse on the Center square, from coast to Coast, Shore to Shore, Border to Border and beyond the far reaches of our galaxy's solar system, it's time to go all the way live one last time in 2017 as we present the......

......Honors. With performances by.......

Now here is America's favorite contestant, Pierre Kelly!!!!!

Me: Thank you all.

(band stops playing and applause)

Hello and welcome to the very first ever.........Game Show Live! honors.

We were live as we got it, as live as it happened and as live whenever we felt like it. Now we're getting 2017 lit for the last time this year. Please say hi if you can for Robyn Cage and her orchestra!

Now you may think The Kennedy Center Honors is about honoring the arts and all that. Well, the Game Show Live! honors is about saluting the year it was in game shows. Earlier, we held a pizza buffet luncheon at Cici's in uptown Grimsborough and gave a speech to all the nominees. After a "Church pot luck" reception in the theater's lobby, we've arrived at the stage and throughout the event, the vendors will sell cotton candy and hot dogs until the last award and performance. Sure, Caroline Kennedy may be staring at the people with medal around their necks, but around here, we're a fun-loving awards show and to give you an example, our Match Game mistress of impressionism Madi2theMax who is our announcer is going to be reciting a Taylor Swift song. Madison, please......

(laughter and applause)

Now let's get on with the ceremony. Our first award is Best Reboot. Sometimes you gotta use something old and make it something new for the primetime crowd and our nominees prove just that. Watch.

(cut to "Survive The Internet" gameplay)

(reveal bottom comment that says Oh, really?")

(Reveal main comment that says "your older 1997 computer needs a new upgrade")

(fade to host)

Ok, best reboot is...........................

(opens Lootcrate for the winner)

Well it's............The $100,000 Pyramid!

Madison: Accepting the award, the host of teh show, Michael Strahan.

Michael: Wow, can't believe you turned this summer hit into a bigger hit, I would like to thank the staff, the writers, the people back at GMA and everyone here, thank you very much.

Now we turn your attention to a lady with a ukelele......and a song.....and this weird name: Danielle Ate The Sandwich!!!!

Me: Our next award is.....well..........a weak award. Nominees, please.

(cut to "Monster Seeking Monster" gameplay)

(One user: Hey baby, wanna go to the movies tonight?)

Madison: Accepting the award....Mario Lopez.

(song stops)

Mario: Thank you so much, I was hoping why the 3 of you were living this program, but love it or hate it.....

(vacuum sucks up Mario and crowd cheers)

Me: Hope that's the last of him. Next up, 2 Hawaiians were dressed in 2 colors. No, it's not a bad Double Dare reboot, it's.........the ever popular Red Light Challenge!!!!!

Now our next award is a doozy. Which big name is a better game show host? We're about to find out. Will the nominees please stand up?

(cut to "Bracketeering" sign-in screen)

(Lilbumblebear tries to sign in first, but Rousav gets in first and removes himself; then Kamikaze tries to get in, but removes himself as well, but Lilbumblebear gets an automatic VIP sign in and everyone else goes in.)

(Cue "Best Host" graphic)

HUNTER MARCH (Emogenius)

SNOOP DOGG (The Joker's Wild)

JAMIE FOXX (Beat Shazam)

(Cut to "Best Host" bracket and cut to host)

And who is the Best Host? Let's let our bracket determine who.

(Snoop and Tommy advance)

Looks like Snoop and Tommy in the finals......

(snoop Edges Tommy by a landslide)

And it's Snoop doggy Dogg!

Snoop: Yea yay!  I wanna thank my fam, the boss lady Shanute, and the same people that took my favorite game show to a whole different reality, LBC-ya!

And our next performer is a photographer who's improviser. Doing a Miley Cyrus song is my good insta-friend from Montreal, Cindy Melissa Boisvert!

We got a lot of stuff left to do, so let's have our honorable mentions of 2017.

The "Use your imagination" award went to Austin Rogers for his introductions. Go ahead. Do something else than "Say "Hi" to the folks back home. Trust us.

The "Gummy earworm" award went to "Happy" by Pharell Willams for its new show "Funny You Should Ask." How many royalty checks can Pharrell cash on this Byron Allen-produced program before the original sixties theme takes over? Not so much.

The "Dressed to impress" award went to the cast of TPIR for its 2017 Halloween edition of the program. Okay, LMAD, do one on The Fantastic 4.

The "why are you so hyper" award goes to the host of "That's The Word." My word is......decaf.

The "Let's watch something else" award went to Family Feud for not only giving us the prime time hours on Monday-Friday, but still doing it in syndication.

The "hair raising" award went to Hunter March. For his hair. Hal March must be proud.

The "make up your darn mind, already" went to Buzzr for replacing both Anderson Feud and Wordplay with something better. Guess it was issues that drove viewers away, eh?

And finally, the "Gold Mine" award went to Wink Martindale's Youtube page for uncovering more hidden gems.

(song stops)

And now is the part of the whole thing where Robyn Cage comes out of her postion to perform for us, so Robyn, won't you please do a remix of one of your new hits?

Very good stuff. On to our next award. There are great shows...............and then there are newer shows. Have a look at these.

(cut to "Fibbage 3" graphics to "Best New Show")

FUNNY YOU SHOULD ASK (Entertainment Studios)

CANDY CRUSH (Endemol/King)

(cue graphics back to host)

And the newest show  of 2017.................

(opens Lootcrate for winner)

Once again, The Joker's Wild!

Madison: This is Snoop's 2nd award of the night. His first was for Best Reboot earlier.

Snoop: Wow man, can't believe I got 2 awizz-wards....

But um....I wanna thank you all for your appeciation of the program and my support......and we hope we can get another season.....Peace.

Me: Moving along now is a Mormon....with a positive song......from Utah...Nadia Khristean.

And now we pay tribute to those who are gone......too soon.

In Loving Memory

The Austin Rogers reign of terror!

Austin: Thank you so much. I want to thank my firends for helping me win this award, Alex Trebek for making me a better and smarter, and everyone for being the best Jeopardy! champion of 2017. Thank you very much.

Well, what can't an award show be without the final performance. These 2 people I'm about to introduce are the keepers of the GSN vault, the real nerd parody duo, the world famous................Library Bards! Give it up!

And with that......we're done. I wanna thank God, my ever loving writers and staff, and of guys. We're off until January and until then...............Play on i sense a firestorm?

(confetti firestorm takes over the theater)

Broom Service

Stephanie Panisello: From Coast to Coast, Christmas tree to Christmas tree, candy cane to Christmas cookie and beyond the far reaches of the North Pole, it's time to go all the way live on....

Now here is America's merriest contestant, Pierre Kelly!!!!!

Me: Thank you Stephanie Panisello and welcome to the program that offers more game shows than reindeer games,
Game show Live! As jolly as it gets, as merry as it happens and as toasty and warm whenever you feel Fa-la-la-la-like it.

Today's program is presented this month by Hobby Lobby.  Did you know that they sell visual lighting? True dat. So get to Hobby Lobby today and make your house look so cool. Let's guide our little sleigh with......

 The Opening Toss-Up story.

Once upon a time, there was a girl named Meadowfox aka Christina.......last name yet to be given. She once crept in to the offices of GSN and here's is what she serenaded with................

Kinda creepy-ish, get the idea as to why it is......because GSN turned 23 last week. That's right, GSN, the 1st game show network and the only true Game Show network we loved back then, sported the Jordan number in the red and black. Their present to the viewers is 5 hours of Feud. Yippee. I guess. 5 back-to-back-to-back hours of Steve, the whole Steve and nothing but Steve. Why? because GSN wishes they had something else. Really. And as for Idiotest......

It's gone. Harvey Feud is the replacement for the event. So that means you get to either stay up and watch it or........just turn it off and doze off and pretend this didn't happen. But the big news is.............

Millionaire returns to GSN for the first time in a long time. This time, the Harrison version will be in effect. Last time the show was on the network was the Viera version. It still does in syndication. Chris Harrison still does it. Also, that little B&W overnight stunt will be in there but only for this month. Happy Jordan Number, GSN! Lesser feud in 2018!!!!!!!

We're not going down in history yet. After this, Buzzr got something to stick and stick it forever. That's on the way, but first...................

It's Station Break time! A gaggle of commercials. Which happens.....after these messages.

Welcome back to Game Show Live! Later on, Christ Stuckmann reviews "The Disaster Artist." Did he love it? Like it? Or hate it?

(song fades out)

After having bad luck with Word Play and Louie's Feud. Buzzr found another discovery............

Supermarket Sweep. The fans should've wanted it on GSN at first, but Buzzr heard what the fans said and acquired it. A popular Cable favorite, the show has 3 teams play in a supermarket where anything goes. Buzzr has set a date for January 15th. Yes, January 15th. Get psyched!!!!!!!!

Two of America’s most popular gameshows, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, will be inducted into the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Broadcasting Hall of Fame at the new 2018 NAB Show Achievement in Broadcasting Dinner on Monday, April 9 in Las Vegas.

The two syndicated hits have produced a combined 13,000-plus episodes. They are both produced by Sony Pictures Television Studios and distributed by CBS Television Distribution.

“Broadcast television is home to America’s most beloved programming. Both Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy have stood the test of time and represent the enduring power of broadcasting,” said NAB Executive Vice President of Television Marcellus Alexander. “NAB looks forward to honoring these legendary shows and their iconic producers and hosts in April.”

Reaching more than 25 million weekly viewers, Wheel of Fortune reaches more viewers than any other program on television. Created by Merv Griffin in 1975 as an NBC daytime show, it is based on the game Hangman. Wheel of Fortune is currently celebrating its 35th season of syndication and is trademarked “America’s Game.”

Pat Sajak began hosting Wheel in 1981 when it aired on network daytime television and continued through its syndication in 1983. Since then, he has earned three Emmy Awards, a People’s Choice Award and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Vanna White quickly became a household name when she was named co-host of Wheel in 1982. Since her debut on the show, she has become a Guinness World Record Holder as “Most Frequent Clapper” and has also earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Both hosts have been with the show through its entire 35 seasons in syndication.

Currently in its 34th season of syndication and with 23 million viewers a week, Jeopardy remains one of television’s top-rated quiz shows. Jeopardy has received numerous awards and distinctions, including a 2011 Peabody Award and the 2017 Emmy for Outstanding Game Show.

Alex Trebek has hosted Jeopardy since its debut in 1984. He has won five Daytime Emmy awards for Outstanding Game Show Host, as well as a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Trebek has hosted more than 7,600 episodes and is honored with stars on both the Hollywood and Canadian Walks of Fame.

Harry Friedman is the executive producer of both Wheel and Jeopardy. He is also a 15-time Emmy winner, a Peabody Award winner, a three-time Guinness World Record Holder and has received the Lifetime Achievement Award from NATAS. Friedman is known for creating innovative game elements and incorporating the latest technology. In September 2006, both shows made television history when they became the first syndicated programs to broadcast in high definition.

Finally, android fans like myself are excited for this:

It seemed to arrive out of nowhere, but since launching as an iOS exclusive app in late October HQ Trivia has been growing in popularity day after day, a dozen questions at a time. The app live streams a trivia game show right on your phone daily, giving you a chance to answer 12 questions correctly for a chance to win real cash. It's free to play and broadcasts live twice a day on weekdays and once on weekend and holidays.

Now, it appears folks behind HQ Trivia are ready to bring the trivia fun and excitement to Android, tweeting the following just hours before Tuesday's 3pm EST live stream:

Hey world, we hear you also have Android phones? HQ has a nice little stocking stuffer coming your way...
— HQ Trivia (@hqtrivia) December 5, 2017

So its look like Trivia Daddy Scott Rogowsky is prepping to give all the HQties rocking an Android phone a very Merry Christmas this year — and if parts of that sentence confuse or scare you it's going to be okay.

There's nothing worse about this.......

Renowned chefs Anne Burrell and Tyler Florence return to whip a fresh crop of bumbling cooks into culinary shape in a new season of Worst Cooks in America, premiering Sunday, January 7th at 9pm (all times ET/PT) on Food Network. In the ten-episode series that transforms kitchen disasters into skilled cooks, Anne and Tyler each lead a team of cooking-challenged recruits in an intense culinary boot camp designed to improve their food skills. In the end, only the one contestant who makes the most impressive transformation wins a $25,000 grand prize and bragging rights for their team mentor.

"Kicking off the year with a new roster of Worst Cooks has become a Food Network tradition," said Courtney White, Senior Vice President, Programming, Scripps Networks Interactive. "Watching Anne and Tyler turn these kitchen misfits into confident cooks is a fun ride from start to finish."

The competitors are: Brandon Arroyo (Cleveland, Ohio); Steven Crowley (New York, New York); Kayrene Curtis (Rocky River, Ohio); Jonathan Farhat (Livermore, California); Lily Frey (Anaheim Hills, California): Asaf Goren (Los Angeles, California); Robyn Hayden (Charleston, South Carolina); Sylvia Jefferies (Charleston, South Carolina); Hazell Mckenzie (Brooklyn, New York); Priscilla Nguyen (Hattiesburg, Mississippi); Skyler and Spencer Nick (Wauconda, Illinois); Kevin Pettice (Charlotte, North Carolina); Shatima Ruffin (Yorktown, Virginia); Sharon Shvarzman (Staten Island, New York) and Lacey Stout (Owasso, Oklahoma).

In the season premiere, sixteen of the country's worst cooks enter boot camp with dreams of putting their kitchen nightmares behind them. Anne and Tyler need to see what they're dealing with, so they have the recruits make their signature dishes - and the results are worse than they could have imagined. For the first main dish challenge, the chefs teach the recruits how to make breakfast, the most important meal of the day. Then Anne and Tyler pick teams, and the two recruits with the least successful breakfast dishes are sent home. Upcoming episodes feature a fun fish market challenge, a round of food trivia game "Family Food," a sweet Valentine's Day challenge and the return of "Remote Control Chef." The season culminates on Sunday, March 11th at 9pm with the two most-improved recruits preparing a three-course, restaurant quality meal for judges Jordan Andino, Michael Chernow and Paulette Goto - and the creator of the best dish wins $25,000 and victory for their mentor.

Viewers can learn more at including tips from your favorite chefs and quizzes to improve your cooking. Tell us your mishaps in the kitchen with #WorstCooks.

And here comes the perfect landing............

Independent film-maker CJ Wallis has begun screening his award-winning feature documentary "Perfect Bid: The Contestant Who Knew Too Much" about super-fan Ted Slauson's unique history with The Price is Right and is currently adding dates to the film’s winter and spring North American tour.

The documentary explores how Slauson became adept at recording and memorizing prices of products featured on the show since its inception in 1972, culminating in him helping a contestant place a perfect bid during a 2008 Showcase, and ending in one of the biggest controversies in game show history as covered by TIME Magazine, Esquire, TMZ and more.

Perfect Bid’s world premiere was held at the Bend Film Festival in October and then went on to win “Best Documentary” at the Orlando Film Festival the same month.

"It’s a love-letter to The Price is Right, it’s creators and to all of the fans who have grown up with the show as I did. In trying to keep the film as independent as possible, we have begun a grassroots campaign and have already set up a theatrical tour in over 13 cities and continuing to line up more well into next spring - which is both a testament to Ted's story and to the power of The Price Is Right," said Wallis.

Perfect Bid’s multi city tour will include theater screenings throughout the Canadian provinces and marquee locations across California, as well as, Connecticut and New Orleans, Louisiana.

Screenings dates for 2018 are currently being planned world-wide, and will be announced in the coming weeks.

Worldwide distribution rights to the film have been acquired by Gravitas Ventures and is slated for release April 2018.

Time for some holiday trivia.

The question is this:

IN what book of the bible did Linus recite in "A Charlie Brown Christmas?"

Figure it out while we take a Google Play Music interlude from actress, singer, TV host and DJ Lauren Mayhew. Lauren, please......

Ready for the answer?

It was Luke 2:8-14. And here to recite it for you is Linus.

Final story goes like this: FX is looking for young people, yes young people who do the following things:

-Watch classic TV & Movies
-Listen to older music no less than 10 years ago
-Wear clothing your parents used to wear.....

Uh oh, guess it's age after beauty, because it's...........

The Lightning Rant. 90 seconds to talk about Winsanity and Idiotest gone starting from.................

Winsanity was supposed to have a re-tooled second season, but the 2-player format made GSN decided to fool the viewers by scrapping the premiere for............Family Feud. Yes, Family feud. Why? Well, GSN is trying to act like ESPN did with Sportscenter. In fact, 5 hours of Feud can make GSN money.............right? I'm sure your local affiliate has Feud, too.  Better yet, Buzzr has classic Feud. Talk about your TV having Feud in one channel or the other. Another show replacing it with Feud is Idiotest. The concept was interesting and Ben Gleib brought the funny to the show. That was 2014, but it's now 2017 and 4 seasons disappeared out of nowhere. Looks like GSN had enough with Ben and the puzzles. So there you have it.  Replacing it with Feud gave GSN an early christmas present. They put the....
