Overtime #15: Something Witty This Way Comes

VO: This is Overtime. More about the network you know & trust. Here now Pierre Kelly.

Me: Time for overtime. A treat in one wee little bag. Today, things you didn't know about....Crosswits!

1. Prior to doing this gig, David Sparks did a pilot called "On A Roll". And it didn't work.

2. This past Sunday had 2 shows:

83 (Charles Shaughnessy, Rosie O'Donnell, Joanna Kerns & Ilene Graff): Silver Chevrolet S-10 Blazer, Ford Taurus L Wagon ($12,056) & red Pontiac Fiero

80 (John Schuck, Roberta Leighton, Arsenio & Charlie Callas): Black Fiero, Firebird & Green Blazer ($12,199)

3. Michelle Roth is the first female announcer of a game show.

4. Sticking with Michelle...

-Usually on "Crosswits", Michelle would plug the car in the middle.

5. for car wins on "Crosswits", I could hear some faint car honks; also, a contestant's GT would flash on the bottom of the screen (on the ep. that was online that had the VW Cabriolet given away, the GT wasn't shown).

6. It only ran from 1986-87.

7. Arsenio Hall didn't make his debut. That went to Match Game-Hollywood Squares Hour in 1983.

8. Rosie O' Donnell had her debut here.

And the last fact...

It was taped at the Bob Barker Studio at CBS Television City.

That might do it. We leave you now with Sonya Belousova & Ghost Waltz. Happy Halloween & play on, playas.

Smart Thinking

(Halloween is getting near and you better hurry. Party City has last-minute shopping before you go trick-or-treating. Better hurry, it's got going ot last long.)

VO: This is GSN The Know. The most informed and entertained blog in the United States of America. Now, from the WIlton-North building, here is the man about games, Pierre Kelly.

Me: Jeepers Creepers, focus on your peepers to what I say on this creepshow, er, freakshow known as GSN. Hope you got your eyes in check, 'cause we focus on.....

The Starting Line.

Idiotest thought it would get cancelled.......but no. It started to be like a cardiac kid and stayed that way. The week of October 11th had a small spike thinking the twitter Q&A session and the livetweet session of the host must've helped......well, it did. another spike in the ratings per age group and one nightcap show that went up 15% got them thinking it should've been a hit all along. Well, it's a hit, but after all, it's GSN greatest hit of the year.

(song stops)

Now the candy bag of the month known as the Yay & Yawn of October.

The Yay: Tylenol Time Capsule. GSN unearthed rare treasures and gave diehard fans a chance to showcase them.

The Yawn: Let's Ask America and Shop 'Til you Drop. They tried......and didn't work.
Stay here folks for one show getting another season and GSN to the minors? Don't even think about touching that X button.

(song fades out)

(Quick fade out)
Trivia question: What do MOAM, Engvall Lingo, Love Triangle and Family Trade all have in common?
Time's up. It's Uno. Yep, just 1. But one show is getting another season....
And that's Idiotest. The show has confirmed season 2 is on the way. 65 more episodes will be in the package. This will be for the first time since 2010, an actual game show getting another season. The last show to do that: Baggage.
Oh, and speaking of Baggage, Flasher took pictures of the new version and here they come.

And we move on to....

Carni-Poll. No time to be playing games on the midway, let us show you the way GSN fans think.
What do you think of GSN renewing 'Idiotest' for a second season?
90% say....yeah, it's a good move. Can't wait for season dos.
Which of the following afternoon shows do you enjoy watching? (You can select more than one)
Going 1, 2 & 3, Catch 21 is 1st, Chain Reaction is 2nd and The Pyramid and DOND tied for 3rd.
Would you welcome 'Power of 10' with host Drew Carey back to the GSN schedule?
56% say yes over 43%. Really?
Will you watch the celebrity episode of 'The Chase' (November 11th 8pm ET)?
3/4 of them say yes. 1/4 say no.
Will the upcoming celebrity episode of 'The Chase' break record viewership?
48% No? Why? Anyways, one more and we're done with it.
Which show removed from the schedule will you miss the MOST?
40%.....went with......Whammy! Is that really?
(song stops)
Now to the 2nd intermission presented by With October closing down, Svengoolie gets one last song to close the appreciation month out.
Standing by......period 3.
One interview with Mark Labett thinks GSN is a minor network. A minor network? That's peanuts compared to any other network like RFD-TV, Youtoo or whatever. Look, GSN is more than minor. It's getting close to 20 years people. Whether classic or modern, Sony has it. Liberty Media has it. Nobody else has it. That means Viacom, DIscovery Networks, NBCUniversal or A&E networks  don't have GSN. Not one. So since it began, it's always been a Sony Network. Starz TV, AXN, Audience, MLB Network and Sony Movie channel? Yeah, they're with the company GSN is in.'s major. AMC.....major too. What about GSN?.......soon to be. And it will be if the fans keep it up.

Strike three, you're out. Today's blog is presented by hot dog vendors. You make money yelling for them. However, they're not free, because the fans pay for them.
