So....About Last Night.....

Survivor: Edge of Extinction host Jeff Probst is giving his take on what unfolded during the crazy Tribal Council viewers witnessed on Wednesday night's episode.

Tribal Council came alive on Night 23 of the game, as castaways were trying to navigate their next move amid broken trust and dysfunctional alliances

Whispers broke out and then it didn't take long for players to leave their seats and chat with tribe members on opposing sides.

"I can never sense when a Tribal is going to become 'live.' It typically happens in an instant. In this case I think a lot of factors were in play," Probst explained to Entertainment Weekly

Julie Rosenberg appeared to kick off the chaos by crying over her position in the game.

"Julie was wearing down emotionally, mostly because she doesn't like lying to others and she certainly doesn't like others lying to her. And I think it's pretty clear that she was the accelerant for Tribal taking a turn," Probst said.

"But everybody is exhausted. So why her and not someone else? Let's dig a little deeper, and I hope that what I'm about to write does not offend anyone. I hope my armchair psychological assessment is taken at face value because I only mean it as a way to contrast personality types."

Probst then went on to contrast Julie and Aurora McCreary's personality types and backgrounds, which allegedly contributed to Aurora's calm and collected state at Tribal Council.

"Julie is a wife and a mom with kids. She is missing them. She is exhausted and wears her emotions on her sleeve. So she is not as stable as she was on Day 1. This isn't a surprise to the other players, nor to Julie," Probst said.

"It's just part of her makeup. Aurora, on the other hand, comes from a very different world. She comes from the foster care system. She has been on her own most of her life."

Performer Wayne Brady got his big break on “Whose Line Is It Anyway,” first in Britain and then on ABC.
He’s now on “Let’s Make a Deal,” but he’s much more than just a television host. He is a talented singer who specializes in the music of Sammy Davis Jr. and Sam Cooke, and has performed in Broadway musicals, films and television sitcoms.
He’ll perform old favorites such as “Wonderful World,” “Mr. Bojangles,” “Cupid,” “What Kind of Food Am I?” and more with the orchestra, conducted by Music Director Thomas Wilkins.
No word yet on when Johnathan Mangum will try Dean Martin.

Music Please, Lizi!
It's been 2 weeks since CBS decided to put Million Dollar Mile on hold. You know, the competition where it's cat meets mouse in a crazy chase for the cash......or like Wile E. Coyote & The Road Runner, but one review in NJ.com had this to say.......
(song switches)

"But more than a few people compared the show to “The Running Man,” the 1987 sci-fi thriller starring Arnold Schwarzenegger that was based on a 1982 Stephen King story the same name."

For Me, it reminded me of this.......

Yep. I had fun with a PS1 controller back in the day and it's easy to do without the circular thingies. But some people......well, you look at yourself.

Kel Mitchell would've saved the show in a heartbeat.

Is The ghost of Richard Dawson around?

Or better yet....a shortcut to give the runners a "no-look-Made-you-look" kind of deal.

Looks like a reboot of "Fun House" to me. But the most positive tweet went to.....

The show is already hereby sentenced to Saturdays starting May 4th.....and a possible afterlife on CBS All Access.

(song stops)

Somebody left a memo when I got out of the building yesterday that it was National Barbershop Quartet Day. Totally not made up, people. So here to sing us out is our Blockbusters beauty shop quartet.........GQ!

That's all for now, but remember one thing: How many miles must a man run down before some Tough Mudder.....or Crossfit......or Spartan Race.....or Ultra Beast competitor calls you a chicken and hides the million dollars somewhere so no one could see it?

So until next time and all the time....play on playas.

Now here is America's favorite contestant, Pierre Kelly!!!!!

Me: Thank you Madi2TheMax and this of course is  Game show Live! As live as it gets, as live as it happens and as live whenever you feel like it. Let's get into it with......

 The whatstrending.com Opening Toss-Up story.

If The Wall could do it for LeBron James, then Holey Moley could do it for this man....

Yep. One of the splash Brothers, Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors.

ABC announced today the network pickup of new extreme miniature golf competition series, "Holey Moley." The first-of-its-kind, 10-episode mini-golf competition will showcase self-proclaimed mini-golf lovers from around the country as they compete head-to-head through an unparalleled, epic obstacle golf course. NBA superstar Stephen Curry will serve as executive producer, resident golf pro of the "Holey Moley" course and appear in every episode. Rounding out the on-camera talent is color commentator Rob Riggle, play-by-play commentator Joe Tessitore and sideline correspondent Jeanie Mai.
"Holey Moley" will focus on the family-favorite game of mini-golf with a twist. In each episode, 12 contestants will put their miniature golf - and physical - skills to the test and face off in never-before-seen challenges on a larger-than-life course. Mini-golf experts of all ages and backgrounds will try their luck on "Holey Moley"'s supersized holes. Every episode will consist of three rounds of golf, culminating with three finalists taking on the daunting "Mt. Holey Moley" in a three-way contest. Ultimately, one winner per episode will take home the $25,000 prize, along with "The Golden Putter" trophy and coveted "Holey Moley" plaid jacket.
Uniquely themed holes will be featured every week, along with special celebrity guest appearances and other surprises along the way. "Everyone has a favorite memory of playing miniature golf, whether it was as a child with your family, with a group of friends as a teenager, or on an awkward first date. Take that feeling, add high stakes competition and out-of-this-world challenges, and we have no doubt 'Holey Moley' will stand alongside other golf classics like 'Caddyshack,' 'Happy Gilmore' and 'The Legend of Bagger Vance,'" said Rob Mills, senior vice president, Alternative Series, Specials and Late Night, ABC Entertainment.
"Unanimous is incredibly excited to partner with ABC on 'Holey Moley,'" said Jeron Smith, co-founder and CEO of Unanimous Media. "We aim to use entertainment as a vehicle to bring families together, and this show will surely bring laughter and enjoyment to households around the country. Miniature golf is a staple pastime and the show will be fun, intense and unpredictable. Our collective love of sports and family-centric entertainment made this a perfect project for our first television series. We're excited to see what the competition brings."
"Eureka is thrilled to be working with ABC to take America's love of miniature golf to the next level. It's extreme and perfect family-fun. We can't wait to unveil the most spectacular mini-golf course ever created" said Chris Culvenor, co-founder and co-CEO of Eureka. "Teaming up with Stephen Curry and Unanimous Media makes it even more special. Stephen has changed the game of basketball forever, so we are beyond excited to join forces with him to transform miniature golf into an epic event."
Stephen Curry is a three-time NBA Champion, two-time NBA MVP and six-time NBA All-Star. He has revolutionized the way basketball is played and has established himself as one of the most respected and beloved players to have ever played the game. Curry co-founded Unanimous Media in 2018, which develops and produces inspiring television, film and digital content with an emphasis on family, faith and sports themes.
Actor/comedian/writer/producer/director Rob Riggle has been a staple in comedic films and television for more than 15 years, and is best known for his memorable characters in comedy hits like "The Hangover" and "Step Brothers," as well as his stints on "Saturday Night Live," and as a correspondent on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart." Most recently Riggle appeared in Universal's "Night School" with Kevin Hart, Warner Brothers' war drama "12 Strong" and Open Road Films' "Midnight Sun." On the small screen, he currently created and stars in Sony Crackle's "Rob Riggle's Ski Master Academy."
Joe Tessitore is best known for his prime-time NFL duties as the play-by-play commentator for ESPN's "Monday Night Football." Tessitore has long been considered among the top live event broadcasters in sports, having spent many years leading ESPN and ABC's coverage of championship boxing and college football. Widely praised for his versatility, his distinctive voice and joyful enthusiasm, Tessitore brings an unmistakable passion to his calls.
Jeannie Mai is a style advocate, television personality, and Emmy(R) award-winning co-host of "The Real," a critically acclaimed live talk show on Fox Television Stations and in national syndication. Additionally, Jeannie is an executive producer of "Stopping Traffic: The Movement to End Sex Trafficking," a documentary that investigates the international crisis of human sex trafficking. Jeannie has been a recurring fashion correspondent for E!'s "Live From The Red Carpet" and recently launched her new web series "Hello Hunnay," taking fans on her journey through fashion, fitness, finances and relationships.
"Holey Moley" is created by Eureka Productions and produced by Eureka Productions and Unanimous Media. Chris Culvenor, Paul Franklin, Wes Dening, Charles Wachter, Michael O'Sullivan, Jeron Smith, Erick Peyton and Stephen Curry serve as executive producers. Production begins this month in California. Airdate will be announced at a later date. "Holey Moley" is an original format created by Chris Culvenor of Eureka Productions.

This......just in.

ABC has enlisted a well-known joker to host its updated take on Card Sharks: Community grad Joel McHale has been tapped to emcee the forthcoming revival.
"I'm very excited to be hosting Card Sharks," McHale said. "Game winners can win tens of thousands of dollars and in an updated twist, losers will be fed to a pen of adult tiger sharks."
McHale is no stranger to hosting, of course. He presided over E!'s pop culture clip show The Soup for 11 years, then did the same on Netflix's short-lived continuation The Joel McHale Show With Joel McHale. His recent TV credits include guest spots on The Rookie and Santa Clarita Diet.
The Alphabet Net's new version of Card Sharks will begin with two players facing off in a head-to-head "elimination race," where the winning player claims a $10,000 cash prize. That contestant will then get a chance to turn his or her money into an even bigger payday by trying to predict seven final cards.
As previously reported, ABC is resurrecting both Card Sharks and Press Your Luck, which will join the network's lineup of other game show revivals, including Match Game, $100,000 Pyramid, Celebrity Family Feud and To Tell the Truth.
Card Sharks is slated to premiere this summer.

Nine professional bakers battle it out on the new season of Best Baker in America, premiering Monday, May 13th at 9pm ET/PT. Food Network's Scott Conant returns to host, tasking the bakers over seven episodes with challenges designed to put their baking skills and technical proficiency to the test for a chance to walk away with $25,000 and the coveted title.
During each episode the bakers must create elegant and delicious baked goods through two rounds - a Skills Challenge that tests their mastery of the essential technical skills of baking, followed by a Master Challenge that tests the bakers' prowess working with specific flavors and ingredients. Returning judges, Jason Smith and Marcela Valladolid, are joined by special guest pastry experts each episode, including Florian Bellanger, Elizabeth Chambers, Valerie Gordon, Shinmin Li, Nancy Silverton, Sherry Yard and Zac Young, to determine which baker possesses the artistry and creativity needed to earn the grand prize and be crowned Best Baker in America!
"Proving to be the Best Baker in America takes a mixture of skill, imagination and determination," said Courtney White, President, Food Network. "These tremendously talented bakers have their work cut out for them, as they are pushed outside their comfort zone to whip up beautiful and delicious baked goods to impress an all-star lineup of prestigious bakers for the $25,000 prize."
The nine bakers gather in the season premiere to begin their first challenge, having to create perfect mini-Princess Cakes. For the second challenge, the bakers must produce a spectacular Royal Baby Celebration cake for 100 people, using elderflower and lemon as the featured flavors. After the judges deliberate, one baker will be eliminated.
Other episodes during the season feature the bakers making miniature versions of pastry classics, presenting the judges with smashable desserts using coconut as the featured flavor, and creating a flaming Bombe Alaska.
Don't miss all the fun throughout the season, culminating in a 4th of July-themed baking challenge to crown the newest winner of Best Baker in America! Meet the newest batch of bakers and see photos of their creations at Food Network.com/BestBakerinAmerica.
Plus, get Jason Smith's best baking tips, along with exclusive content from Scott Conant, Marcela Valladolid, Jason Smith and the guest judges. Follow the baking action using #BestBakerinAmerica.

The stakes are big, but the games ... not so much.
NBC is offering contestants the opportunity to amass a "Small Fortune" as the network has nabbed a six-episode order of Youngest Media's unscripted competition series. The U.S. series will be based on the popular U.K. format that launched on ITV in February.
"Small Fortune" will see teams of three friends compete in the tiniest of challenges for a chance to win big money. From a shrunk down Oval Office ("The Waste Wing") to a mini Arc de Triomphe ("Arc de Wee-Omph") each team must prove their skills on playing fields that have been squeezed down to the size of a dollhouse. Challenges will require considerable dexterity and intense focus because with games this small, there's no room for error as the slightest miscalculation or tremble may result in elimination.
"'Small Fortune' is a quirky, clever and hilarious concept with a surprising level of intensity that will keep viewers in suspense," said Meredith Ahr, President, Alternative and Reality Group, NBC Entertainment. "As soon as we saw the format in action, we knew we wanted to bring it to NBC. It proves that the simplest format can often pack the biggest punch."
"NBC have been big fans of our little show from day one and their enthusiasm makes them the perfect partner in the U.S.," said David Flynn and Lucas Church, co-founders of Youngest Media. "We can't wait to bring the world's smallest gameshow to the biggest market in television."
To take home the ultimate Small Fortune, teams that make it to the end must tackle one last teeny-tiny but epic game. If players can control their nerves and avoid the slightest mistake they will walk away with a big cash prize.
As the saying goes, good things come in small packages.
"Small Fortune" will be co-produced by Universal Television Alternative Studio and entertainment studio Youngest Media, which created and produced the U.K. format. Lucas Church and David Flynn will serve as executive producers for Youngest Media alongside Michael Binkow, who will serve as executive producer and showrunner for the series

The big money going into drama means scripted grabs all the headlines in TV these days, but under the radar there's a surprising amount of innovation going on within unscripted entertainment, too.
At first glance, it seems like little has changed in that genre, as the list of top formats is familiar. Franchises such as "Dancing With the Stars," "Survivor," "American Idol" and "Got Talent" still draw in millions of live viewers around the world, despite each being well over a decade old. In the U.K., the latest installment of the country's most-popular format, "I'm a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here," was its most-watched ever — in its 18th season — and will debut in France later this year.
For many broadcasters, these tentpole shows remain reassuringly popular at a time when their business is being disrupted by the streamers. "The big brands are still attracting big audiences," says Vasha Wallace, Fremantle's executive vice president of global acquisitions and development. Y
et traditional broadcasters are still backing lots of new shows, aware that they can attract big live audiences. "The SVODs have forced everyone to up their game," says Wallace, arguing that "more innovation and risks" are being taken.

And ICYMI this past week.....

For one night only, Ryan Seacrest is abdicating his "American Idol" throne.
On Monday night's episode, radio host Bobby Bones fills in for Seacrest, who is out sick.
This is the first time Seacrest has missed a taping in the history of the show, a spokesperson for ABC, which airs "American Idol," confirmed.
"Welcome to 'American Idol.' Now, I am not Ryan Seacrest — I am Bobby Bones," Bones said in a preview. "Sadly, Ryan is sick, and I look most like him, so they asked me to fill his shoes tonight. Ryan, love you, buddy. Hope you get better."
The episode was taped weeks ago, so it's unclear what Seacrest was sick with at the time.
In exchange for the favor, Seacrest sent Bones a pair of sneakers for "filling his shoes" on "American Idol." In a clip from Bones' radio show posted to his Twitter account, Bones opened the gift and joked, "That's like saying, 'Hey, backup quarterback, we need you to jump in for Tom Brady real quick.'"
Seacrest has been the host of "American Idol" since it debuted in 2002, though for the singing competition's first season he shared hosting duties with Brian Dunkleman .He is also the host of morning radio show "On Air With Ryan Seacrest," and co-hosts "Live with Kelly and Ryan."
