(it's a new Year and it's time for a new year's resolution I know of: Lose weight, and the only way to do that is Planet Fitness, because for less than what you pay for a month, you'll get fit and get better results, so stop fat shaming yourself and hit up Planet Fitness today.)

VO: This is GSN The Know. The most informed and entertained blog in the United States of America. Now, from the WIlton-North building, here is the man about games, Pierre Kelly.

Me: Welcome to 2014 and GSN The Know is cable's public friend #1.  It's a new year, so let's see what happens over the holidays starting with the ratings. Hilty, lock me into the polar vortex.

The week before CHristmas came and CHain Reaction hit the top spot for the first time in its rerun history. Never before has a 2-season wonder done that. In between a double decker sandwich, Feud came after it, but the bottom of that snadwich was tied for 4th and Feud went from 6th-9th, but CR took in 9th and Feud got in 10th. As for the week of Christmas....

Family Feud went from 1-7, and 8-10, but Game Show Moments gone Bananas took up 6th. That's the first period, Hilty to get a little warmer.

It's our first break of the year and after that, we'll find out what news came over the holidays. Just stick around, OK?

(song fades out)

(quick fade out)

We're back and over the holidays, James Avery died at 65. You may know him as Uncle Phil on "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air with future Catch 21 host Alfonso Ribeiro. In fact, he was on a celebrity show edition 3 years ago and we thought it would be memorable to do....

Twitter Theater. The show's host says....

"I'm deeply saddened to say that James Avery has passed away. He was a second father to me. I will miss him greatly."

We will miss him, too.

(song stops)

It takes a Greenlight

After weeks of waiting.....and waiting.....and waitng.....It Takes a Church finally gets the greenlight for 8 shows this suumer paired up possibly with Bible.

And since it's the 2nd week of January, we thought we'd try.....

The GSN Closet. That's right, another edition of sayings and musings by you, the fans.

(song stops)

And now the 2nd intermission presented by Everybody has a lot of new year's resolutions. Meghan Tonjes isn't one of them. She's a big girl with a big voice and everybody knows why. Here's one of her songs.

Off to teh 3rd period. Poetry time!

GSN in 2013,
Was the best year the network ever seen.

"The Chase" has viewers racning for cash,
while The Beast stopped them in their dash.

Minute to Win It wanted to come back strong,
but Apolo's hosting didn't get along.

Shop 'Til You Drop came back to the mall,
while Blockbusters and $ale ruled them all.

Bible once slipped to #2,
but viewers hung on and knew what to do.

Family Trade has viewers turning their heads,
and wished they watched Pawn Stars instead.

Here's to a great year, 2013
A year to be heard and a year to be seen.
