PBS announced BETTY WHITE: FIRST LADY OF TELEVISION will premiere this summer on Tuesday, August 21 (Times Vary by Location, Check Local Listings).
Filmed over the course of 10 years by the team behind the acclaimed PIONEERS OF TELEVISION series, BETTY WHITE: FIRST LADY OF TELEVISION is a warm look at the life and career of the beloved television and film legend who celebrates 80 years in show business this year — officially the longest career in the history of TV.
Lauded for her roles as the bawdy Sue Ann on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," the innocent Rose on "The Golden Girls" and her more recent role as the worldly Elka on "Hot in Cleveland," Betty White is also an industry pioneer. She was the first woman to produce a national TV show, the first woman to star in a sitcom, the first producer to hire a female director and the first woman to receive an Emmy nomination.
Granted exclusive access to Betty and her team, the producers were able to capture the magic of her performances at various venues, along with more personal moments at home and interacting with close friends — one of whom is a 900-pound grizzly bear. The film is packed with hilarious clips from her long career and comments from friends and co-stars, including Valerie Bertinelli, Georgia Engel, Tina Fey, Valerie Harper, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Gavin MacLeod, Carl Reiner, Ryan Reynolds, Tom Sullivan, Alex Trebek and many more.
"Betty White has created some of the most memorable characters in television history," said Jerry Liwanag, Vice President of Fundraising Programming, PBS. "This new special reveals that she's been a groundbreaking pioneer since her earliest days in the fledgling medium – both in front of and behind the camera. Her talent and creativity are timeless, transcending generations and cementing her legacy with each passing decade. She's truly one of a kind."
"The goal of the film from the beginning was to highlight the universal appeal that is Betty White...to showcase Betty's life in front of and behind the curtain," said co-director Steven J. Boettcher.

After this commercial word, Double Dare dares......to go message somebody. That's.......when Game Show Live returns.

(fade to break)

Madison: Some members of our viewing audience will receive....

A big 24-piece bucket of chicken thanks to Uber Eats. Why? Because you need it for potluck dinner at church, not scarfing the whole thing down and ending up getting a tummy ache. Now back to the chicken cacciatore, Pierre Kelly!

Me: Thank you Madi and welcome back. A little later on, whatever happened to Steven Rosenthal?

Nickelodeon's game show Double Dare is now a Facebook game. The classic show originally aired from 1986 to 1993 and recently just made its return to Nickelodeon. Now, fans will be able to play a version of Double Dare themselves through Facebook Messenger, challenging friends and keeping track of who's on top via the game's leaderboard.
To play, head to Facebook Messenger, tap "Games" and type in "Double Dare." From there, you can open the game and start a thread with a friend. The two of you will then answer Double Dare questions, compete in physical challenge mini games that are based on those from the show and the game will send each player notifications when it's their turn. Play is one-on-one but the game can be played within a group chat.
You can play the Double Dare game today anywhere Facebook Messenger is available.

But there is more......

Nickelodeon's popular game show Double Dare made a big comeback this past summer with all new episodes for grown up children of the '90s and a whole new generation of kids to enjoy.
Now Double Dare will give fans a whole new way to experience the trivia and physical challenge competition series with a live tour heading across the United States this fall, and original host Marc Summers and his beloved sidekick Robin Russo will be coming along with it. Find out everything you need to know about the Double Dare Live tour in the link below.

The Double Dare Live tour will kick off on October 30 this fall in Fayetteville, North Carolina and will jump across the country with 13 additional stops in the United States throughout the month of November.

And what about the show that inspired it...........Oh yeah, i'm talking about.....Buzz'd Out. They're hard at work testing newer things and our hidden camera crews captured the test things. Watch.....

As if that wasn't enough, they're dishing out great prizes. Like what, Madison?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AN--mES6qi0

Madison: Well, they'll might win.....

Gift cards from Vroman's Bookstore, a good way to read books since spending way too much time on your phones is a brain melter. Also, it keeps Barnes & Noble from going out of business. And.....

Tickets to a show at Pasadena Playhouse where you might see "Hamilton" put on by some......high school students. Over to you.........Lincoln.

Me: Um......thanks Madi. Don't forget the email on both photos if you reside somewhere in Pasadena and test your brains and brawns into one local show.

USA Network announced today that its new music showcase series REAL COUNTRY has added country stars Trace Adkins, Wynonna Judd and Big & Rich as celebrity guests. The network also announced a special appearance by the beloved country icon Willie Nelson, and set Graham Bunn - most recently from Southern California's #1 country station, Go Country 105 - as host.
Each episode will feature one of the special celebrity guests alongside REAL COUNTRY's permanent panel of artists - five-time GRAMMY Award(R)-winning trailblazer Shania Twain, platinum-selling singer-songwriter Jake Owen and GRAMMY Award(R)-winning music legend Travis Tritt. From Wilshire Studios, the eight-part series will premiere Tuesday, November 13 at 10/9c, and has Twain, Nicolle Yaron, Stijn Bakkers and Leslie Garvin set to executive produce. Additional celebrity guests will be announced soon.
In each hour-long episode, Twain, Owen and Tritt will hand-select emerging solo artists, duos and groups to perform in showcases that spotlight the rich traditions, songs and themes of country music. The best artists from each showcase will perform in a two-hour grand finale, for the chance to be named one of country music's next breakout acts.

Let's make this next story......something.

NBC, in the midst of another summer where it's once again beading the competition handily, is ordering a second season of its newest hit series, "Making It," from Universal Television Alternative Studio.
Hosted by "Parks and Recreation" alums and best friends Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman, "Making It" is a uniquely lighthearted competition series that celebrates the creativity and craftiness in all of us.
"Making It" airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The six-episode first season, which premiered on July 31, concludes Sept. 4.
"Seeing firsthand the imagination of a true craftsman and, literally, watching them create something out of nothing is pure gold," said Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Reality Group, NBC Entertainment. "Amy and Nick's longtime friendship and affection for one another brings the show to a whole other level of fun and we look forward to seeing what season two will bring."
"We set out to make a boundlessly affirmative and inspiring show and we are thrilled with the way viewers and the press have embraced it," said Meredith Ahr, President, Universal Television Alternative Studio. "Amy and Nick bring creativity, leadership and comedic brilliance to everything they do and we can't wait to team up with them again and shine a light on a new group of talented makers."
"We're sew excited to be 'Making It' again," said Amy Poehler & Nick Offerman. "We promise season two will have you glued to your seat."

Now it's Time for Adorkable Rachel's Ridiculous Radical Radiant reviews of...........Red payapas.

My facebook friend Adam Nedeff got a job..........again. This time at Fox's new show Mental Samurai. When asked why, he said......

The game show world today doesn’t work the way it used to. Goodson-Todman, Chuck Barris, Barry & Enright, etc. churned out so much content simultaneously that they could retain full-time employees for years and just move them from one assignment to another as shows got cancelled and picked up. It hasn’t been that way for about 25 years now.

Today, a game show hires a staff to tape as many episodes as a buyer has ordered, and then when those episodes are finished taping, the entire staff is laid off and it’s time to find a new job. So Nickelodeon has taped 40 episodes, I wasn’t needed after that, if they pick up another season I’d like to think I’ll be called, but in the meantime I had to go out and find something else.

TL;DR: working in game shows means looking for a new job every three months.

But sometimes, you need a second opinon. Here's my opinion.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-kjFXZIOO2s

Staffing in game shows is like getting a summer job at a mall. Every prime time game show lets different people jump from one show to the next. Even so, Los Angeles is a hard place to work in game shows. back then, the people behind your favorite game shows you watched growing up were like a family. For years, they knew the ins and outs of being on a game show and from there, they turned the job into a career choice that you talked to the kids in school on Career Day. Even announcers like Johnny Olson and Jay Stewart stick to the production company you belong for a long time. Nowadays, the syndicated field are the last of a dying breed and when the next prime time game arrives, or better yet, cable, will you stay or will you go?
