(Augmented TV shows SDCC scene)

A game show hootenanny in one weekend......

(switches screen to a million dollars)

does a million dollars keep you a secret?

(switches screen to a a blindold)

And look away!

(camera goes to the desk)

Let's................ Get................... Lit!

Opening Theme

Amy Irons: From around the world....across the country....and in your neighborhoods, NOW......in its 7th consecutive year, this is.................................

And now, the (Nearly) world-famous contestant...Pierre Kelly!

Me: Welcome to Game Show Live! Let's get right into it with.......

The  Talking Through The Medias opening toss up story.

The Game Show Expo. The first ever convention devoted entirely to game shows and the only one. Everybody was in Burbank for this fantastic gathering of Game Show people associated with it. Andrew hain told us about it in his own words.

Adam Nedeff who is an author was also here for the memories.

Favorite memories of Quiz Show Expo this weekend:
-Presenting Jamie Farr with a copy of "Gong This Book!" and mentioning how much I had enjoyed his one-man show about the life of George Burns when he came to Huntington, WV while I was in college; Jamie was so tickled that I had seen that show that he spent a solid five minutes telling me about spending time with George Burns toward the end of George's life.
-Seeing a spontaneous group hug break out when people who had worked on "Supermarket Sweep" in the 1990s all suddenly realized that they were in the same room together for the first time since the show went off the air.
-Experiencing the game show fan fever dream of watching the Whammy spin the Showcase Showdown wheel.
-Being warmly greeted and hugged by Ben Gleib eight years after "Idiotest" and to be honest, I was surprised he remembered me.
-The absolutely delighted reactions of David Ruprecht, Jim J. Bullock, Joyce Bulifant, and Vicki Lawrence when I asked for their autographs on copies of "the home version" of all their shows instead of a photo. Bonus points--Vicki Lawrence starts to autograph it and I just reflexively say "My name is Adam." Vicki does a double-take and says "Are you sure you want to have ADAM on this, though?" I nodded and said, "I'm not putting it on Ebay. That home game is for me." And she just gave me the biggest smile and wrote "ADAM" along with her name.
-Getting to see the fruits of my labor, writing the trivia questions for "Quiz Show Live," and seeing that I managed to write a game show history question that stumped 76% of a roomful of game show fans.
-Meeting the absolutely charming parents of Arianna Haut and congratulating them on their million-dollar win. 37 years after the fact, but still.
-Finally telling Arianna and Muffy Marracco an anecdote about fact-checking "Master Minds" questions that I couldn't tell them for five years.
-Handing Wesley Eure a copy of my book about Allen Ludden after hearing him reminisce about Allen.
-Lunch with David Narz and hearing his tales about growing up with three legendary game show hosts in the family.
-Seeing David brought along photos and being surprised that there are STILL photos of those three guys that I somehow haven't seen before. Not sure how any of them got anything done when they were getting their pictures taken all the time.
-A staffer from the 1985 version of "Break the Bank" regaled me with his stories from behind the scenes of that show.
-Spending a bonus day with Bob Hilton filming his oral history for the National Archives of Game Show History and hearing that distinctive voice still intact all these years later.

Remembering the time when Arianna Haut and Muffy Marraco met the whammy:

Annie wood came on board as well.......

Plus the reunion of this Whammy! tandem.

Even this TPIR pricing game prop came in:

There were so many we just can't tell all about it but you can bet next year will be more of the same.

And as June comes in we find out who has seen the light and who's in total darkness. It's the Yay & yawn of May.

The Yay: The Barker TPIR on Buzzr. This was something Buzzr had missing from it and it got it.

The Yawn: Gladiators.......Australia. Glad the BBC wasn't getting the axe after all but Channel 10 in Australa did.

When we jetted off to Las Tejas, we were listening to podcasts and this one is the subject of today's..................

Podcasts......you should listen to.

Your recommendation for today is......................

Two best friends talk about life in general, pop culture, things from way back when and everything else that intrigues you. If The Chris Moyles Show started at 6 am, then it'd be an hour of just talking before heading into a song at 7 am after. Here's one example of a typical episode. Look and pick which topic is your favorite.

They even have a Tiktok section too. Like this.

More money, more problems. That seems to be the motto of Netflix's brand new competition series, in which one contestant is saddled with a $1 million prize as the other 11 players fight to hunt them down and claim it for themselves.

The series, with the working title "Million Dollar Secret," will be hosted by Peter Serafinowicz, the British comedian and actor whose credits include "Guardians of the Galaxy," "Shaun of the Dead," "John Wick: Chapter 2" and "Spy."

Here's how the competition works, in Netflix's own words: "The million-dollar prize is won by one of 12 players right at the start of the first episode. Now, the others will hunt them down – eliminate the millionaire and the money moves to someone new. When should they strike? Too soon and they become the target; too late and they may never get the money. Meanwhile, the millionaire can try to get rid of the cash if the heat becomes too much. This is a game of strategy and alliances, where predators can become prey in the blink of an eye."

The series will consist of eight 45-minute episodes. It's produced by Wheelhouse U.K. and Spoke Studios ("Love & WWE," "Buying Beverly Hills"). Charles Wachter serves as showrunner and executive produces alongside Glenn Hugill, Will Nothacker, Russ Friedman, Joe Coleman and Pam Healey.

The cast of "Million Dollar Secret" has yet to be announced.

Serafinowicz has had a prolific career in Hollywood, creating and starring in "Look Around You" and his own sketch comedy series "The Peter Serafinowicz Show," as well as landing roles in "Parks and Recreation," "The Gentlemen" and "Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace," in which he voiced Darth Maul. Serafinowicz has also lent his voice to the "Sing" animated movies from Illumination, "South Park," "Rick and Morty," "The Simpsons," "Bob's Burgers," "American Dad!" and "Archer."

The Talk About deal, which includes board games, card games and mobile game apps, was negotiated by global licensing agent Genna Rosenberg from GennComm ImaGENNation.

Maxwell-Smith's career began as a Production Assistant on the classic game show, Truth Or Consequences hosted by Bob Barker, and evolved to him creating, selling and producing over a dozen television game show formats, including Talk About, Mouth Trap, Chain Letters, Equal Partners, Humdingers, Majority Rules, Knockout, and Now You Know. One of the more surprising elements of The CW's fall schedule unveiled last month was that there was no room for Penn & Teller: Fool Us – one of the longest-running anchors of the network's unscripted slate.

That's changed now as the network has renewed the show for Season 11.

It is one of a handful of renewals at the network; The CW also picked up All American for a seventh season and dated season four of religious drama The Chosen.

The magic competition show is centered around the legendary duo, who invite aspiring magicians are invited to perform their best trick to try and fool them. Anyone who succeeds wins the right to perform with Penn & Teller in their show at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Penn & Teller see the trick only once and have to immediately try to work it out.

Brad Schwartz, President of Entertainment, The CW Network recently told Deadline that the show is a "crazy consistent performer". Season 11 will likely launch in early 2025.
