And now.....upfront stuff.
Starting with CBS.....
BS today announced its 2024-2025 primetime programming lineup of CBS Originals, featuring three new dramas, two new comedies, a new alternative series, a reimagined classic game show, special event programming and 18 returning series.
New drama series for fall include NCIS: ORIGINS, starring Austin Stowell as a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs and narrated by flagship NCIS series star Mark Harmon; and MATLOCK, a reimagining of the classic television series, starring Emmy and Academy Award winner Kathy Bates as a brilliant, wily lawyer with unusual and unexpected tactics. Midseason will introduce WATSON, starring Morris Chestnut as a modern version of one of history's greatest detectives solving medical mysteries.
The new multi-camera comedies for fall are POPPA'S HOUSE, starring Damon Wayans as happily divorced "Poppa" who finds himself still parenting his adult son, Damon Wayans Jr; and GEORGIE & MANDY'S FIRST MARRIAGE, the sequel to YOUNG SHELDON, following Georgie (Montana Jordan) and Mandy (Emily Osment) as they raise their young family in Texas while navigating the challenges of adulthood, parenting and marriage.
The new fall alternative series is THE SUMMIT, hosted by Manu Bennett, which follows 16 strangers embarking on a once-in-a-lifetime journey through the treacherous New Zealand Alps in an attempt to reach the peak of a distant, towering mountain and win $1 million. Midseason will launch a new edition of the legendary game show HOLLYWOOD SQUARES, starring Drew Barrymore as the center square, in which two contestants play tic-tac-toe to win money and prizes.
The new schedule of CBS Original series also includes the return of the new #1 series on television, TRACKER, starring Justin Hartley; the 2023-2024 season's #2 new program, ELSBETH, starring Carrie Preston; the world's #1 TV franchise, NCIS; and #1 news program 60 MINUTES.
"This is another CBS primetime schedule that will break through the clutter and entertain a mass audience," said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment. "We're grateful to the creative talent who deliver the characters and stories, as well as the viewers who spend nights, seasons and years with them."

About the new series...
- THE SUMMIT (Wednesdays fall): THE SUMMIT, hosted by Manu Bennett, follows 16 strangers embarking on a once-in-a-lifetime journey through the treacherous New Zealand Alps in an attempt to reach the peak of a distant, towering mountain. With their backpacks containing an equal share of $1 million, the group must traverse an exhausting distance in just 14 days in order to win the cash they are carrying. But not everyone will make it, as these strangers must work together to tackle the dangerous terrain, unforgiving Antarctic winds, heart-pounding challenges and gut-wrenching eliminations on their way to the peak. Tracking them along this journey is the "Mountain's Keeper" who will surprise the trekkers with brutal twists and force decisions that complicate an already grueling ascent. Morals and relationships will be tested when they must decide what to do if someone falls behind - because if the group fails to reach THE SUMMIT in time, all the prize money will be lost. THE SUMMIT is produced by Endemol Shine North America. Kevin Lee, Tina Nicotera and Endemol Shine North America's Sharon Levy and Michael Heyerman are executive producers. The series is based on a format by Endemol Shine Australia and Nine.
- HOLLYWOOD SQUARES (Wednesdays winter): HOLLYWOOD SQUARES, starring Drew Barrymore, is a classic game show in which two contestants play tic-tac-toe to win money and prizes. The "board" for the game is a vertical stack of open-faced cubes, each occupied by a celebrity seated at a desk and facing the contestants. The celebrities are asked questions and the contestants judge the legitimacy of their answers to win the game. Award-winning actress and talk show host Drew Barrymore will take her place as the famed "center square" answering questions for the contestants. HOLLYWOOD SQUARES is produced by Jesse Collins for Jesse Collins Entertainment and Drew Barrymore and Flower Films. The original show aired on NBC in the 1960s. The series piloted in 1965 and debuted in its entirety on the same network in 1966, with reboots airing in syndication (1986-1989, 1998-2004).
NBC, FOX and ABC have yet to respond but we'll pass it along once we get it.

Not epic proportions but.....
ITV has cancelled Alan Carr's Epic Gameshow, opting not to bring the program back for a fourth series.
The show, which revived various classic game shows, was first put on hold last year but now has been definitively shelved.
A TV insider shared to The Sun: "Alan won't be taking this too hard as the three seasons Epic Gameshow ran for on ITV were well received and it's not like he's short of other projects."
Indeed, Alan remains a busy figure on British TV. He's set to host the new prime-time game show Password on ITV later this year and will continue his work on the autobiographical comedy drama Changing Ends, which is heading into its second series. Additionally, Alan has ongoing projects with the BBC, including Picture Slam and Interior Design Masters, which will return for a sixth series. He is also gearing up for another series of his home makeover program with Amanda Holden in Spain.
Epic Gameshow, which began airing in 2020 and last aired in December 2022, featured a weekly rotation of beloved game shows such as Play Your Cards Right (Card Sharks), The Price Is Right, Take Your Pick, Strike It Lucky (Strike It Rich), Bullseye, Name That Tune and Child's Play. The show also included special Christmas and celebrity episodes.
Despite the show's initial success, ITV made the decision to pull the plug shortly after the third series.
While fans of Epic Gameshow may be disappointed, it seems Alan Carr will hardly have a moment to rest with his packed schedule of upcoming TV appearances.

Hit music quiz show PopMaster TV will be back on More4 for brand new episodes starting on May 11.
The upcoming season, comprised of 16 episodes each lasting an hour, will see legendary radio DJ Ken Bruce return as the host.
Adding to the excitement, the season will feature two celebrity specials. In the first celebrity special, singer Toyah Willcox, actor and rapper Richard Blackwood, actor Sally Lindsay, radio DJ and presenter MistaJam and Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt battle it out to see who'll take home the silver or gold disc.
Fans can expect more music, more questions, and greater opportunities for contestants to showcase their knowledge of pop music trivia.
Glasgow will once again serve as the filming location for the series.
PopMaster TV involves five contestants competing in a head-to-head battle to prove their expertise in music knowledge through six knockout rounds. These rounds include engaging segments such as 'Intros, Middles and Ends', 'Video Gaga', 'Pop Years', and 'It's Only Words'. The final stage, 'Original PopMaster', sees two players vying for the top spot, with the ultimate challenge being the '3 in 10' round, determining who takes home the coveted PopMaster TV gold disc.
Originating from the iconic radio quiz, which has been a staple for 25 years, the first season of PopMaster TV significantly boosted More4's viewership in 2023.

Back to CBS for just a moment......
CBS will finish the 2023-24 season as "America's Most-Watched Network" in primetime for the 16th consecutive season. This breaks broadcast television's longest winning streak on record, also previously held by CBS, from 1955-1970. This is CBS' 21st win in the last 22 years. The Network is also poised to win the season in the key demos including A25-54, A18-49 and A18-34.
CBS is currently averaging 5.59 million viewers, +580,000 ahead of second place NBC (5.01m), +1.30 million viewers ahead of third place ABC (4.29m) and +2.24 million viewers ahead of fourth place FOX (3.35m). All numbers are according to Nielsen live plus 7-day ratings through April 21.
In the 2023-24 season, CBS currently has 13 of the top 20 broadcast series. The Network launched three new series (TRACKER, ELSBETH and NCIS: SYDNEY), all of which are the top new series of the season. CBS is also home to television's four most-watched entertainment programs (TRACKER, NCIS, YOUNG SHELDON and FBI), the top four comedies (YOUNG SHELDON, GHOSTS, THE NEIGHBORHOOD and BOB HEARTS ABISHOLA) and remains the #1 broadcast network in primetime among African American viewers.
CBS will close out the broadcast season strong with more top series than any other network while maintaining key #1 positions - #1 in Late Night for the seventh consecutive season, #1 in Daytime for the 38th consecutive season and home to the #1 Primetime News Program (60 MINUTES) since at least 1987. A Monday afternoon FaceTime with Sandra Lee quickly turns into a shopping intervention. Anybody who wants to lower their grocery bill, says the Semi-Homemade Cooking host, needs a Costco membership and an affinity for Trader Joe's. When I counter that the crowds at the latter are a real turn-off, she's having none of it. "You just have to get up early and go when they open," she instructs. "Same with Costco."
We are speaking on the occasion of her new series, Roku's Dinner Budget Showdown (out May 3). It's her first fully fledged TV show since Sandra's Money Saving Meals ended in 2012 when Lee turned her attention to working alongside then-partner and then-Governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo. But this return for Lee, long an evangelist of stretching a dollar in the kitchen, seemed inevitable. Recent headlines about skyrocketing grocery costs are like the Bat-Signal for Lee. And while this show is new ground for her, blending cooking instruction with competition, she insists that her mission has always been the same.

And we zip back to a Mistplay Game Break. Here's a question:
Think for one second after we go back 10 years to this hit.
She may not be AI but Katy Perry is a real person. And so is the answer. It's..........130,000. That's about many earths to fit the sun. 1.3 mil can fit 8 planets of the solar system.

We told you about it last week but we know what the new GSn program Beat the Bridge remind you of. It's..............
Hosted by Ross Kemp who is related to The One Show's Roman Kemp formerly of Capital Radio, Martin Kemp and Shirlie Kemp of Pepsi and Shirlie (remember that group?) and was taped in the same studio where Radio Scotland is. While Cameron Mathison takes on a true to life bridge in the studio, Ross has a bridge of his own.
It looks like a warehouse but GSN has a bridge at night. Maybe once it premieres the game play will be the same. Also, Jordan North did replace Roman Kemp at Capital earlier this year.
