Pat Sajak's final run on Wheel of Fortune is quickly coming to a close. After more than four decades as host of the iconic game show, Sajak's final episode will air on Friday, June 7, Deadline has confirmed.

Sajak's farewell episode, which taped today, will serve as Wheel's Season 41 finale.

Sajak announced in June 2023 that he was ready to retire as host from the syndicated game show, and Season 41 would be his last.

He agreed to stay on as a consultant on the show for three years following his final year hosting, said Suzanne Prete, EVP Game Shows at Sony Pictures Television, when Sajak announced his retirement.

Sajak and longtime colleague Vanna White signed contract extensions in 2021 that take them through the current season.

He has hosted Wheel of Fortune since 1981 and has won three Emmys for his work, not counting the 2011 Lifetime Achievement Award he received from the TV Academy. He originally was recruited by creator Merv Griffin to take over for the outgoing Chuck Woolery, having already hosted two unscripted game pilots called Press Your Luck and Puzzlers. In the 1980s, Sajak did double duty, hosting a daytime version on NBC and a syndicated version in the evening.

When the show hit its 36th in 2018, Sajak became the longest-running host of any game show, surpassing The Price Is Right's Bob Barker.

A week after Sajak announced his retirement, it was revealed that Ryan Seacrest would be taking over as host in Season 42. Seacrest also will serve as consulting producer on the show. A new video touting the changes has made the rounds on social media.

Seacrest admitted to his worries during an exclusive interview with People, saying, "I'm sure I will get nervous jitters. The show has been a staple for people and myself and my family forever. And so you just want to walk out there and do what's been happening for so many years and not screw it up."

Some GSN news now.

Game Show Network is gearing up to premiere three new original series this year: Beat The Bridge, hosted by Cameron Mathison, based on BBC's Bridge of Lies, in June; Tic Tac Dough, hosted by Brooke Burns, in August and previously announced Jaleel White-hosted Flip Side, which is launching in national syndication, in September.

The news was announced by GSN as part of Sony Pictures Television Advertiser Sales upfront today in New York City.

Hosted by Mathison (General Hospital, Home & Family), based on BBC's Bridge Of Lies from STV Studios, Beat The Bridge features an enormous interactive bridge that dares players to cross by stepping on the right answers to challenging trivia questions. Each step forward puts money in the team's bank, with bonus money for each successful crossing. However, the team gets to keep the money only if it can "beat the bridge" by returning one of its players back across before time expires in an exciting end game.

Beat the Bridge is a Game Show Enterprises Studios production. Ed Egan serves as executive producer and Sabrina Hybel Snow as co-executive producer. Josephine Brassey, Gary Chippington and David Mortimer serve as executive producers for STV Studios.

Tic Tac Dough is an update of NBCUniversal's classic format originally created by Robert Noah. Burns (Master Minds, The Chase) guides two contestants as they compete to place three of their marks in a row on the giant trivia board. Both players must try to avoid the dragon, who lurks to steal their turns and stands in their path to victory. After three rounds, the winning player moves on to face the dragon in the grand prize round, where the dragon moves strategically on the board to block the player's ability to make three-in-a-row and take home $10,000.

Tic Tac Dough is produced by Game Show Enterprises Studios with Rane Laymance as executive producer and Sabrina Hybel Snow as co-executive producer. Village Roadshow Television serves as the studio with Harry Friedman, NBC's Brenda Milinkovic and VRTV's Shannon Perry executive producing.

Casting announcements were posted for both Beat the Bridge and Tic Tac Dough earlier this year, but this is the first official announcement from GSN.

Previously announced Flip Side is described as a fresh take on a traditional game show based on the format created by Keller/Noll. The easy to play-along game show pits two teams of players against each other to test them on how they think two different groups of people feel about the same issue. The teams compete for a shot at $10,000 by guessing the top answers based on anonymous surveys.

Flip Side is a Game Show Enterprises Studios production for CBS Media Ventures with Jay James, Corin Nelson and Rich Sirop serving as executive producers. Cleve Keller and Dave Noll (Keller/Noll) and Ken Ross also serve as executive producers. T. Jones serves as co-executive producer.

The new entries join new seasons of Switch and Split Second, which begin April 8.

Supermodel-slash-actress Kate Upton is set to host "Dress My Tour," a new reality competition series that has been ordered by Hulu. The ten-episode unscripted series will follow 11 fashion designers as they compete to create designs and style for music stars. The winner receives $100,000.

Emmy-winning costume designer Marina Toybina ("The Masked Singer," "So You Think You Can Dance" and creative director/choreographer/director Laurieann Gibson ("Lady GaGa Presents The Monster Ball Tour: At Madison Square Garden") will serve as judges on "Dress My Tour," while guest judges on Season 1 include JoJo Siwa, Paula Abdul, Toni Braxton, Ty Dolla $ign, Coi Leray, JT (The City Girls), French Montana and Jessie James Decker.

Upton's previous TV credits include serving as a guest judge on "Project Runway" and "RuPaul's Drag Race."

Adventure travel series Destination X has been officially picked up to series by NBC.

The show is expected to air on the network in 2025 and the U.S. version of the Belgian format will be produced by production company Twofour, which is also making a separate British version for the BBC.

The greenlight marks the latest stage for the format; last year, the BBC and NBCUniversal partnered to take the U.S and UK rights to the show, which comes from Belgian producer Geronimo and distributor Be-Entertainment.

The BBC greenlit its own version last year with Twofour producing. NBC has now followed suit and officially ordered its own version; the show was previously only in development with the broadcast network. It is a similar model employed on breakout mystery format The Traitors.

Destination X sees a group of contestants go on the road trip of a lifetime but they have no idea of their location. In order to win, they must figure out their mystery locations. Once they're on the blacked-out Destination X bus, the journey turns into a real-life game board, with challenges designed to offer clues as to their location, along with a few misdirects to keep them guessing. At the end of each episode, the contestant who places an X on a map furthest from the actual location packs their bags. The first participant to reach Destination X will be crowned the winner.

Twofour, which is owned by British broadcaster ITV, is behind series such as Apple TV+'s The Reluctant Traveller. It will co-produce the NBC version with Universal Television Alternative Studio. Production will begin later this year.

Caroline Davies, Andy Cadman, Dan Adamson and David Clews will exec produce the NBC version.

"Destination X is one of the most unique and innovative formats we've seen in a long time, and it's so big we partnered with the BBC again to shoot two shows at once," said Corie Henson, EVP, Unscripted Programming, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming. "This show is an epic international travel adventure combined with the ultimate guessing game. Even if you've never been on a plane, you can play along."

"The only thing better than adapting a hit format like Destination X is doing it alongside the very best producing partners, and that's exactly what we have in Twofour," said Toby Gorman, President, Universal Television Alternative Studio. "We're thrilled to bring NBC their first travel competition series and can't wait for audiences to tune in for this adventure. It's going to be a fun ride."

"The entire Twofour team couldn't be more proud to have won the tender to produce this incredible adventure format, particularly given the pedigree of the other companies in the process," said Dan Adamson, Twofour MD. "Our editorial ambition for this project is fortunately matched by our best-in-class production team, who constantly make the impossible possible. We are excited to be on this journey with our talented producing partners at UTAS and grateful to the brilliant commissioning teams at both NBCU and the BBC for the hard work and creativity they have already put into the process."
