The new season of “Big Brother” is just days away — it premieres Wednesday, July 7 on CBS. But before we meet the all-new houseguests for “BB23,” let’s flashback to one of the reality TV show’s most cringe-inducing moments ever. Last season, “BB22” started off with a whimper when Julie Chen Moonves instructed the first four Have-Nots on live television to walk upstairs and enter their new room. Unfortunately, the small door they were supposed to crawl through was stuck. “Do they slide or push the door?” Julie was heard asking her producers off-camera. “It’s still locked.”

Ian TerryNicole AnthonyKevin Campbell and Memphis Garrett did all they could to try to open the door, but it wasn’t budging. “All right, then just stay in the hall for seven days,” Julie quipped awkwardly before adding, “I’m kidding.” The moment aired live on August 5, 2020.

Being a Have-Not means you have to take cold showers for the week and eat nothing but slop, aka “Big Brother’s” disgusting food dish that resembles bland oatmeal. The winner of Season 22 ended up being Cody Calafiore. He beat runner-up Vincenzo “Enzo” Palumbo by a unanimous 9-to-0 vote during the October 28, 2020 finale.

Looking ahead to the Season 23 premiere, “Big Brother” will once again stage a live move-in for the new houseguests. But this time the players will be split into teams. “As people move in and they’re in that first competition, they’re going to be vying to be a team captain, and also to be able to compete for HOH [Head of Household],” explained executive producer Rich Meehan. “That team captain competition is going to be how they’re selecting their team. If you’re a team captain, you’re going to get a snapshot of some of the houseguests, then you’re going to have to decide who you want to add on your team. It should be a fun way to build the teams. It’s always interesting to see how it plays out with that element because the team dynamic changes the game a bit.”

Alexa, Is There Really Crying in Baseball?

That’s Coach Nick Offerman to you. The Parks and Recreation star has joined the cast of Amazon’s upcoming A League of Their Own series, filling the pivotal role of the Rockford Peaches’ new coach, TVLine has confirmed.

Offerman’s character, Casey “Dove” Porter, is an ex-Cubs pitcher — famous for accidentally murdering a dove during a game — who gets hired to coach the Peaches. An arm injury put an end to his career as a pitcher three years earlier, so he now sees the Peaches as his second chance at success.

From co-creators Abbi Jacobson and Will Graham, the hourlong series “evokes the joyful spirit” of the original 1992 film, “while widening the lens to tell the story of an entire generation of women who dreamed of playing professional baseball,” according to the official description. “The show takes a deeper look at race and sexuality, following the journey of a whole new ensemble of characters as they carve their own paths towards the field, both in the League and outside of it.”

Amazon’s A League of Their Own stars Jacobson, Chanté Adams, D’Arcy Carden, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Roberta Colindrez, Kelly McCormack, Priscilla Delgado, Molly Ephraim, Kate Berlant and Melanie Field.

Tom Hanks famously played Peaches coach Jimmy Dugan in the original movie. (Even if you haven’t seen it, there’s no way you’ve lived this long without hearing the line “There’s no crying in baseball.” It’s simply impossible.) Geena Davis and Lori Petty also starred in the Penny Marshall-directed film, with supporting turns from Rosie O’Donnell and Madonna.

Think you could get rewarded for being a smart shopper? This link will give you the info you need for being a contestant on TPIR for it's record breaking 50th season. Good luck......if you're lucky.

And now a segment that rewards gamers with these qualifications:

must have a length of at least one year, can be of any variety or stick to a common game, viewership numbers on average and the most important category of all: the ability to play Jackbox games on any days or a moment's notice. Yes, Livewire! is proud to award.....

The Twitchhead of the month award! This month's recipient: Wrkcacntr. Yes you heard me right, Wrkcacntr. Translation: Workin-Cackin-Ter. There I said it. He may look over 40 but looks real hyper for a good stream. He can start with jackbox, launch a little Gartic phone or something else and end it with Jackbox in a stream sandwich. If TipsyTune was 20 years older, he'd still do it. Right? Right. But he also was featured this past Tuesday on a jackbox stream program called "The Bench." Look at it:

And if TipsyTune were to be his color commentator like Tony Romo, Wrkcacntr is the one to Play Jim Nantz if Jackbox had a pro league. Here's his reason why all sports networks would rather have him as a local TV news sports anchor:

And that's the reason why every network that has NFL coverage would never hire him. But he's always regional sports network level and the madness is at:

So Wrkcacntr, with another reason to have Devyn Howard as sideline reporter and have Ryan and Warren from Jackbox to do a Studio show............................................

You are the Twitchhead of the month for July of 2021. You get an imaginary plaque to hang on the wall, bragging rights and what else, Colbi King?

Colbi: Your very own Dear Diary toy. Yes, even before social media and all that, you wrote down what went on that day thanks to Tiger's Dear Diary toy. Now with Wi-fi. Over to you, bullethead journal guy.

Me: Thanks Colbi, tune  in next month for another streamer with some names you can't pronounce.

STV Studios has been commissioned to produce an “innovative” new quiz show The Bridge of Lies for BBC One.

The show, which will be broadcast on weekday afternoons, promises “both high drama and high stakes that will keep the contestants on their toes and their eyes on the prize as they risk losing it all with each step they take”.

It will see teams compete for cash by crossing a bridge made up of stepping stones across the studio floor. Each stepping stone has a different option, and the players must try to get from A to B by stepping on the truths and avoiding the lies in order to cross the floor safely, or risk falling off the bridge and out of the game.

The Bridge of Lies was commissioned by BBC Daytime & Early Peak as part of a competitive initiative to find new quiz formats made in Scotland. It was ordered by Carla-Maria Lawson, head of daytime and early peak, and the commissioning editors are Alex McLeod and Neil McCallum, based in Glasgow, for BBC Daytime.

The series will be produced by STV Studios, makers of BBC Daytime’s Antiques Road Trip and ITV’s Catchphrase, and will be filmed and produced in Glasgow.

Gary Chippington, STV Studios’ creative director of entertainment, will serve as executive producer. He said: “We’ve worked hard to develop an innovative format which will stand out in such a popular genre and it’s great that the BBC has as much confidence in it as we do. “We can’t wait to get into the studio to make what we’re confident will become a new daytime favorite.”
