Filled with pagentry, elegance and hilarity, it's Game Show Live! Starting now.
The CW Network has ordered a new, reimagined edition of the iconic Nickelodeon adventure series LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE, further expanding the network's alternative programming slate. The series' premiere date and time will be announced later.
This supersized, adult version of LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE preserves many of the original Nickelodeon series' favorite elements, including "Olmec" - the giant talking Mayan head - the "Moat Crossings," "The Steps of Knowledge," the "Temple Run," and of course, the iconic team names: "Purple Parrots," "Blue Barracudas," "Orange Iguanas," "Red Jaguars," "Silver Snakes" and "Green Monkeys." Only this time, the entire show is taken out of the studio into a "jungle" and scaled up with tougher challenges and much bigger prizes on the line.
Every episode is a hero's journey through a mysterious jungle. Five teams begin the journey, but only one is "strong enough and smart enough" to enter the ominous Olmec's Temple, avoid the "dreaded" Temple Guards, retrieve a lost treasure, and return it to its rightful owner.
LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE, the cherished '90s Nickelodeon competition show, originally aired from 1993-1995, with repeats airing continuously for nearly thirty years. LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE holds a special place in millennial hearts -- inspiring a movie, mobile games, a board game, and one of the most popular Halloween costumes every year. The award-winning series was inspired by the seminal Nintendo game "The Legend of Zelda" and the "Indiana Jones" movie franchise.
Based on the original game show created by David G. Stanley, Scott A. Stone and Stephen R. Brown, LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE is produced by Stone & Company Entertainment and Nickelodeon. The series is executive produced by Scott A. Stone and Marcus Fox ("Paradise Run").

Steve Harvey took a chance when he brought his widely popular game show “Family Feud” to South African shores, but it seems to have paid off as the second season makes its way to e.tv.
“Family Feud SA” started on Sunday, May 9, and will run until October 31 on the free to air channel at 6pm.
The game show sees two families compete to name the most popular responses to win cash and prizes. The questions in the game show are from answers received from a survey of 100 South Africans. The family scoring the most points walks off with the money and goes through to the next round.
“Hollywood told me that it can’t be done, so the highlight for me was proving them wrong. I did something that they said can’t be done.
“The quality of TV here is so good, the experience of filming was incredible and the crew were top notch,” said Harvey.
The show’s hugely successful first season, which launched during the national lockdown in 2020 and attracted more than 2.2 million viewers, led to Harvey filming season 2.

Across......The Pond......
UK studio comedy and entertainment shows are preparing to throw open their doors to live audiences from next week, as the British government relaxes social restrictions amid an easing of the coronavirus crisis.
From May 17, there won’t just be bums on seats in cinema screening rooms and theatres — some of the UK’s biggest television studios will once again welcome members of the public, meaning comedians and performers can get back to what they do best: Playing to a crowd.
Audiences briefly trickled back into television recordings last fall, but as Covid-19 cases rocketed, doors have been shut for months, and shows have largely recorded in front of virtual gatherings or scrapped audiences completely.
There is hope among producers that the latest unlocking will be more sustainable after the UK’s successful vaccination rollout.
Some shows are planning to open at full capacity from June 21, when there should be a dramatic relaxing of social distancing rules. Starting from next week, the BBC’s iconic topical panel show Have I Got News For You and ITV’s decade-old chat show, The Jonathan Ross Show, will be among the first to bring back audiences.
Jimmy Mulville, founder of Have I Got News For You producer Hat Trick Productions, said the show will be filmed in front of 100 to 200 people at London’s 400-seater Riverside Studios next Thursday. Another 60 to 80 people will also watch the recording live from a cinema at the Riverside facility.

Peacock is preparing a slew of spinoffs of hit non-scripted NBCU series. The streamer has ordered spinoffs of Top Chef and Below Deck as well as Baking It, from Amy Poehler and the team behind Making It, and is becoming the home of American Ninja Warrior Junior, which was previously at Universal Kids.
This comes after Jenny Groom, EVP, Unscripted at NBCUniversal, told Deadline that it was looking to order a number of spinoffs of NBC unscripted series for Peacock in our recent State of the Non-Scripted Business feature.
Amy Poehler’s DIY competition series Making It is getting an appropriately titled cake-based spinoff Baking It. Peacock has ordered six episodes of the show from Universal Television Alternative Studio in association with Paper Kite Productions and 3 Arts Entertainment. Poehler, Nicolle Yaron, Pip Wells, Kate Arend and Dave Becky serve as executive producers. The holiday event series sees teams of two talented home bakers compete with their most delectable savory and sweet edible creations for a cash prize with judges including three opinionated real-life grandmas, who happen to be fantastic bakers themselves. The streamer has not revealed the hosts of the show but said Parks & Recreation star Poehler would hand the hosting reigns over to “two celebrity friends”.
Top Chef Family Style is a spinoff of the Bravo reality series. It will be hosted by Meghan Trainor, who recently signed a cross-platform overall deal with NBCU with James Beard Award winner and cookbook author Marcus Samuelsson as head judge. The family culinary competition will feature talented young chefs who will each team up with an adult family member partner to compete for a chance to be crowned champions. It is produced by Magical Elves with Casey Kriley, Jo Sharon, Hillary Olsen and showrunner Claire Kosloff serving as executive producers.
Finally, American Ninja Warrior Junior is moving from Universal Kids to Peacock. The kids spinoff of the competition series has been handed a three season order with 15 episodes ordered. Matt Iseman and Akbar Gbajabiamila will return as hosts, alongside sideline reporter Victoria Arlen. It is produced by A. Smith & Co. Productions with Arthur Smith, Kent Weed, Frank Sinton and Jackson Nguyen serving as executive producers. Sharalynn Cornwall serves as co-executive producer.

ANd now for some Idol Controversy.
American Idol finalist Caleb Kennedy has been cut from Season 19, after a racially insensitive video surfaced online, in which he’s seated opposite someone who appears to be wearing a Ku Klux Klan hood.
The 16-year-old crooner took to Instagram on Wednesday to break the news to his fans. “Hey y’all, this is gonna be a bit of a surprise but I am no longer gonna be on American Idol,” he wrote. “There was a video that surfaced on the internet and it displayed actions that were not meant to be taken in that way. I was younger and did not think about the actions, but that’s not an excuse. I wanna say sorry to all my fans and everyone who I have let down. I’ll be taking a little time off social media to better myself, but saying that, I know this has hurt and disappointed a lot of people and made people lose respect for me. I’m so sorry! I pray that I can one day regain your trust in who I am and have your respect! Thank you for supporting me.”
Prior to his elimination, Kennedy had made it into the Top 5 on Idol. The finalists he was competing with on the latest season of the singing competition show included Casey Bishop, Grace Kinstler, Chayce Beckham and Willie Spence.
Kennedy’s isn’t the first controversy to emerge from the show’s 19th season, though. In April, contestant Cecil Ray Baker was arrested for ‘burglary of habitation,’ and was also accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend.

It's time these 2 CBS shows are about to kiss and make up.
The Big Brother house and Love Island are both about to get some new residents: CBS has set a Wednesday, July 7 return date for both of its summertime reality staples, TVLine has reported.
Big Brother will kick off the night at 8/7c with its live, 90-minute Season 23 premiere, followed by the 90-minute premiere of Love Island‘s third season at 9:30 pm.
On the heels of its second All-Stars season last summer, Big Brother will cast all-new houseguests for Season 23, which has a Big Risks and Big Rewards theme. “Houseguests are in for a high-stakes summer… where one wrong gamble could cost them everything,” the logline teases. Beginning Sunday, July 11, the series will resume its usual three-nights-a-week schedule, with episodes airing on Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8 pm.
Love Island, meanwhile, will head to the Hawaiian Islands for Season 3, bringing back the Casa Amor temptation, as well as “new games and challenges that test and strengthen the couples’ relationships.” And not to be outdone by Big Brother‘s schedule, Love Island will air five nights a week, with new episodes rolling out on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays at 9 pm after its first week.

imilar to Whose Line Is It Anyway? and Drew Carey's Green Screen Show, the program features the performers acting in improvisational comedy sketches in front of a live audience using suggestions and participation from the in-studio viewers. Many of the U.S. Whose Line alumni return for this show. Each episode consists of three or four improv games, each one introduced by a different cast member, with each game taking up an entire segment. Unlike Whose Line, the series is filmed at the MGM Grand Las Vegas in Paradise, Nevada. Carey himself is a performer and takes part in games with the other cast members.[1]
The series also interacted with the viewing audience by allowing viewers to enter a sweepstakes to win a trip for two to Las Vegas and a stay in the MGM Grand Hotel. One random winner was selected per day for each episode aired.[2]
With many Whose Line alums and new ones later to be seen on the Tyler version, Laura Hall was the one missing piece of the puzzle. Since she couldn't do it, Bob Derkach decided to fill that role since he was in the improvising field. A tweet from Drew Carey brought the show to a halt thanks to GSN not wanting another season. Why? It didn't have nothing to do with an actual game show element. Maybe Comedy Central should've had it. Oh well.
