About ABC Entertainment

Where in the heck is Thomas Day from AGT?

Originally, Thomas was slated to sing during week three of the Quarterfinals on America’s Got Talent. At the last minute, he was replaced with singer Nolan Neal. His fans had faith that he would be performing during week four when it was announced by Terry Crews. Week four came and went with still no sign of Thomas. This left many questioning what happened to the dreamy football star since this was the last week of live shows. Broken Roots, the singing duo that was originally eliminated during Judge Cuts was brought back to perform in Thomas’ place. Broken Roots mentioned they had little time to prepare for their performance after they received the call to come to Universal Studios in California where the show is currently being filmed.

“What happened to Thomas Day??” fans tweeted to America’s Got Talent. They just wanted answers. Well Thomas himself was ready to give answers about why he withdrew from the competition. However, it came with a price, literally. Thomas spoke on his Cameo account about why he was missing from the live shows. Cameo is a video-sharing website where celebrities share personalized content wit fans for a price. One Reddit user posted the video they paid for to give us all the scoop. “So what happened was I withdrew because I couldn’t make it because of football but I am still pursuing music and in college,” Thomas said in the video. “I’m going to be pursuing music but that’s the truth and you know I wish there was something more to it.”

Thomas also has big plans for the future. “But if you want to know something I have new music coming out” he said in his Cameo. “It makes me so sad that I can’t perform,” he said at the end of the video. Thomas also thanked his supporters for being so loyal after his America’s Got Talent audition. He came to the show with a story about how he is a singing football star and he definitely will continue to do both of those things. “He’s the #7 kicker in the country, which is a really big deal. His odds are much greater to get a college scholarship playing football and getting a great education than winning #AGT” wrote one ‘AGT’ fan on Twitter after learning that he withdrew from the competition.

Oscar winner Jamie Foxx has made a huge name for himself in movies since he left full time gigs in scripted television behind back in 2001. But, now the actor / comedian / singer is joining the growing number of movie stars who've decided to take their immense talents to the small screen, as Foxx will be starring in a new comedy for Netflix entitled Dad Stop Embarrassing Me.

Jamie Foxx really came to the public eye while starring on the classic 1990s sketch show In Living Color from 1991-1994, soon moving on to his eponymously named comedy, The Jamie Foxx Show, for The WB from 1996 through its end nearly 20 years ago. Now, though, Foxx is heading back to scripted TV, with Dad Stop Embarrassing Me having an official series greenlight from Netflix. According to Deadline, the new comedy is based on Foxx's relationship with his real-life daughter, Corinne, and will focus on their father / daughter bond.

Jamie Foxx is also on tap to executive produce Dad Stop Embarrassing Me, with Corinne Foxx producing alongside Alex Avant. The episodes will be directed by Ken Whittingham (The OfficeParks and Recreationblack-ish), with Bentley Kyle Evans (who with Foxx co-created and executive produced The WB sitcom, along with acting as showrunner) also executive producing and now set to replace original showrunner Jim Patterson (The Ranch), who left his position with the new comedy recently, as well.

In February, Dad Stop Embarrassing Me was already casting and beginning other pre-production work, but, as with so many shows, quarantine stopped that forward motion just a few weeks later. Luckily, the producers do have a solid cast in place, though, with Kyla-Drew (The Good DoctorStation 19No Good Nick) set to play Foxx's daughter, David Alan Grier (In Living ColorThe ResidentThe Carmichael Show) also having a starring role, and Porscha Coleman (Good Girls, Ballers), Jonathan Kite (2 Broke Girls, Black Dynamite: The Animated Series), Heather Hemmens (Roswell, New Mexico; Yellowstone), and Valente Rodriguez (High School Musical: The Musical - The Series) rounding out the cast.

In these desperate times, the virus asked the govenors of all 50 states and the enitre world to stay home. But staying home doesn't mean you're bored and want to watch TV. You entertain to a virtual neighborhood and invite those you haven't seen as if you were going out. The stay at home orders forced us all to play Animal Crossing and Jackbox, but trivia nights are what we were missing when everybody remained in the house. Now the feeling of game nights are being brought to you on the internet thanks to this new segment called:

The Quarantine Olympics!

Our destination is Seattle, Washington and we found this interesting event:

Whether it's for a late night crowd on the east coast or after dinner entertainment on the west coast, Monica Nevi, comedienne, keeps the flow with questions ranging from General Knowledge all the way up to decades. To play, all you need is to click on the Google documents link for the test sheets and when you hear Monica recite the question, you must answer what is on the test sheet. Some answers are open ended while others are multiple choice. At some point at the end of rounds 2 & 4, there's a "who am I?"  in which the first person on the Youtube chat to come up with the right identity gets 5 extra points to boost the score towards a prize for winning trivia. It happens every 2 weeks just like Livewire!, but at 9 central on:

App-solutely a Treasure!

Now the real live truth in this coming soon trivia app. Sucker.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - A University of Virginia class of ’97 graduate who was a contestant on both ’Jeopardy!’ and ’Who Wants to Be a Millionaire’ is using his game show experience to spread his love for trivia.

Ever since Donnie Edgemon was 9 years old he dreamed of being on the biggest trivia stage of all time. In December of 2015, Edgemon’s dream became a reality, placing third in ’Jeopardy!’ His time on ’Who Wants to Be a Millionaire’ aired In January of 2019.

“That was a lifelong ambition fulfilled, something that I’ve wanted to do since the Trebek version of that show came on the air,” Edgemon said.

Edgemon says in the spring of his fourth year at UVA, he and his roommates got into the habit of watching ’Jeopardy!’ every night and began playing Trivial Pursuit together.

Now he’s taking his love for knowledge to a different platform, creating an app called Triviappolis Treasures. The app launched in June and has 13,000 questions written by mainly former ’Jeopardy!’ contestants.

“Triviappolis Treasures is a rapid fire trivia app for people who are curious about places,” Edgemon said. “It is a multiple choice trivia app with questions oriented around cities. The idea of it is that we might all have curiosities about places maybe places we’re from or places we’re planning to travel.”

Edgemon’s advice to anyone aspiring to participate in a show like ’Jeopardy!’ or ’Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’ is to acquire broad knowledge and feed off your curiosity.

Mark Labbett from ITV quiz show The Chase has split from his wife after their open marriage failed to work.

The 55-year-old TV quiz whizz and 28-year-old Katie had been married for seven years and have a three-year-old son together.

Labbett, known on the quiz show - screened here on Virgin Media One - as The Beast, told The Sun On Sunday that "it's got to the point now where I realise it is better for us to go our separate ways and remain friendly".

He said the couple spent the past 18 months trying to make their unconventional marriage work after Katie told him about an affair.

"When Katie first came clean to me about her boyfriend, I'd had an inkling," he said.

"But right from the start, my attitude was quite pragmatic - this was spilt milk, what could we do about the situation to make it OK?

We had a family. We couldn't just throw that away lightly. There were other considerations.

"But Covid provided the perfect storm. My mental health suffered and the differences in our ages became magnified.

"It's got to the point where I realise it's better for us to go our separate ways and remain friendly, without the stress factor of living together."

Katie said: "I want everyone to know what's what and that we are all happy. I just want Mark to be happy."

The pair previously revealed that they discovered, after getting together, that they are second cousins, but "it wasn't something we were aware of at the time".

Labbett's agent David Hahn said in a statement: "We can confirm Mark and Katie have split but will not be making any further comment."

Lindsey, who co-hosts the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, has been serving as a special correspondent for Extra since last year. Lindsey holds a law degree from Marquette University and made history as the first Black woman to star on ABC’s long-running reality series.

“Rachel is dynamic and whip-smart,” said Lisa Gregorisch-Dempsey, Extra senior executive producer in a statement. “Being a lawyer, a reporter and a celebrity in her own right, she comes with a connection with the audience that is the ideal fit for Extra. I always love watching her interviews and seeing celebrity Bachelor fans get starstruck.”

Lindsay is one of two attorneys on Extra's roster. Cheslie Kryst, the reigning Miss USA, is also a lawyer and will continue as an Extra New York correspondent alongside Nate Burleson, who is also an NFL Network host and CBS Sports commentator.

Lindsey joins Jennifer Lahmers who also is a correspondent for the show out of Los Angeles. Charissa Thompson continues as Las Vegas correspondent. Longtime special correspondents Terri Seymour, Michael Corbett and Adam Glassman are all also returning.

On the discord of SMRT Trivia, SMRT Rob wrote this in repsone to this Friday's game night:

And then VACATION WEEK! Won't be going completely off the grid, gonna be putting together a whole bunch of awesome stuff for the fall season!

Yep. True story. After 6 straight months of trivia on Twitch and getting above 500 subscribers, the show is going dark for a week, but will return in 2 weeks for brand new juicy questions and eye-popping graphics to have you go nutty. Also.......

September 22 will be "Frat Pack" night. Not "Brat Pack" from the eighties, Frat Pack. Wanna know about it? Head over to:

Then in 2 weeks, buckle your seatbelts, put all tray tables to an upright position and go warp speed ahead to an all-out battle for a t-shirt.

Have you ever wondered why you should never regret nostalgia? Then why are you watching episodes of Shark Tank? I wish Draymond John should invest my blog. Anyway, Rod Kim has sent in this video and he's got the scoop.

For the 2020 Game Show Live! honors in December, we've chosen the Ingress Augmented Reality Stage in South Grimsborough's David Letterman Park. It's such a beautiful park everywhere you go. There's the Anthony Sabatino College of Art in which we got turned down, the Jubilee Zoo which thankfully decided not to because of those smells of animal poop, plus other places outside the park, but this place we chose is because of the use of virtual audiences in the past 2 months. We'll get the preperations and who'll play come late October, but the newsroom has already confirmed for performance........tweet please............

One half of the library Bards, Bonnie Gordon. Now, in these hard times especiallty this year around the world.....we all need a little smile..........right now..............go.

Closing Theme

What did we learn? We learned that if anybody from Jeopardy! wants to do a trivia app, could they blame it on Orkan Arat for making "That's Right!?" Maybe Wheel contestants might try it.

Have a safe and wonderful Labor Day weekend. Instead of a work whistle, it'll be this sound........

Then you know it's time for Livewire! Until next time, play on playas.
