HISTORY announces a 10-episode order of the nonfiction series "Assembly Required" (working title) starring and executive produced by Golden Globe(R) winner Tim Allen ("Last Man Standing," "Home Improvement"). Allen is set to reunite with Richard Karn ("Pen15," "Home Improvement") who will serve as host and executive producer. In this new competition series, Tim and Richard are sounding the call for those with a can-do attitude to take back their sense of purpose and awaken their inner builder.
"Assembly Required" (working title) will spotlight the best and brightest builders from across the country, at their home workshops, as they compete to breathe new life into everyday household items in desperate need of fixing. This new series will push each contestant to their limits while testing their ability and ingenuity to not only rebuild it but to build it better. In each episode, Allen and Karn will also dive into the unique history around these items to celebrate the men and women who crafted them, and the techniques used. "Assembly Required" (working title) is slated to premiere in 2021 on HISTORY.
"Let's face it -- we're living in a throwaway society," said Tim Allen. "We buy, break, replace... rinse and repeat. Whatever happened to repair and rebuild? There are some people who unfriend, unfollow and dispose of anything that offends, annoys or breaks - so I've created a show to remind people of the satisfaction and pride that comes from rebuilding something on their own. And who better to join me than my buddy from the old Tool Time days - Richard Karn! Now we're talking More Power! Albert Einstein once said, 'I'm not a genius, I'm just passionately curious.' Well, let's get curious! Even a chimpanzee would at least show interest, right? Wait - I think I just came up with another idea for the show! R-R-R!"
"Our history is defined by the innovations of ordinary dreamers creating extraordinary things, from Thomas Edison's light bulb to the Wright brothers' first flight," said Eli Lehrer, Executive Vice President and General Manager for HISTORY. "We look forward to partnering with Tim and Richard, America's beloved duo, as they challenge a new wave of skilled individuals to think out-of-the-box to build upon the innovations of those before them. We hope this series will inspire viewers to think twice about throwing out that old item, roll up their sleeves and rebuild it better."
Produced by Wheelhouse Entertainment's Spoke Studios, ITV America and Boxing Cat Entertainment, this unique series also engineers a new model of partnership among the network, production and brands. In a one-of-a-kind collaboration for "Assembly Required," (working title) powered by Wheelhouse's marketing arm, Wheelhouse Labs, production will work closely with HISTORY's advertising sales team in a joint effort to invite and secure brands that want to ally with the new Allen-starring series.
"Assembly Required" (working title) is produced for HISTORY by Spoke Studios, ITV America and Boxing Cat Entertainment. Joining Allen and Karn as executive producers are Brent Montgomery, Ed Simpson, Joe Weinstock, Will Nothacker, Simon Thomas, Vince Cariati and Katherine D. Fox. Eli Lehrer, Mary E. Donahue and Max Micallef serve as executive producers for HISTORY. .

Warner Bros. is aiming to shoot the second season of the Rob Lowe-hosted Fox game show "Mental Samurai" next week in Portugal, where the studio has set up a "production hub" for global versions of the format, multiple people with knowledge of the plan told TheWrap for a report.
Showrunner Jeff Apploff left for Lisbon, Portugal, on Thursday, according to a post on his Facebook page. Current travel plans call for Lowe to fly out on Sunday with American contestants to arrive next week, one insider said.
The hope is for production to commence there next week and last for four to six days, the individual said, taping without a studio audience since Lisbon currently limits gatherings to a maximum of 10 persons. However, due to the constantly evolving rules surrounding international travel and pandemic work protocols, those plans could very well change.
And it's possible that the crew might need to be quarantined due to positives tests or changing regulations in Portugal. According to the website of the U.S. Embassy and Consulate in Portugal, due to COVID-19, "only essential travel is permitted by U.S. citizens for professional, study, compelling family emergencies, health, or humanitarian reasons." The studio believes TV production falls into the "professional" category.

Here's a hot move down under........
Production on the Eddie McGuire quiz show Millionaire Hot Seat is moving to Queensland this month in a move that will allow Nine to finally recommence filming new episodes.
The move to Queensland coincides with the AFL Finals Series and will allow McGuire to host Fox Footy coverage live from stadium venues. The Collingwood President will spend two weeks in a Queensland AFL quarantine hub before being allowed to work in the state.
Production of Hot Seat has been suspended due to COVID-19 for much of 2020 with the network now running low on new episodes. Next week will see Nine airing only one new episode on Monday, with the rest of the week scheduled with repeats. Producers had hoped to commence filming without a studio audience two ago.
But as TV Blackbox exclusively revealed, the outbreak of COVID-19 at The Masked Singer caused the Victorian Government to change its rules and prevent production until after the city moves out of Stage 4 restrictions.
The decision comes after rival Seven last month decided to pack up its studio set for The Chase Australia and move production from Melbourne to Sydney..

Larry Nickel will begin.
"I think they should get rid of Master Minds and Get a Clue. Master Minds is just a spin off of The Chase and Get a Clue is just a pain in the butt game show. I know that Master Minds got renewed just because of Brooke Burns (also hosting The Chase) and also they change out only Ken and Jonathan with Ryan, Latekra and Arianna and not change out Muffy."
No. Master Minds is doing much better like it's last one with Sherri Sheperd because Brooke has done well with The Chase in the past but Get A Clue's 2nd season might be a little interesting. On to Deobrah McKnight.
"My husband and I discovered the old Match Game with Gene Rayburn and love it! We've been recording them, but there seems to be only a few years shown on tv....74, 77, & 78. What happened to the other years?"
They're either on Buzzr or on Youtube. Take your pick. Next, Beth Rowell.
"How many enjoy America Says more than Family Feud? It seems like FF is getting too many "sexual innuendo" type answers while AS is a more family friendly show. Anyone agree?"
I would say yes because FF had what Harvey did to spice up the questions a bit so America Says win hands down. Up next, Larry Moore.
"My wife and I watch Gameshow network nightly from 6:00pm to 10:00pm. We really enjoy watching all the evening shows. But there is something that bothers us. Ken Jennings, Can he get a sports jacket that fits? I understand getting older sometimes means getting bigger. I have had to embrace that idea. Maybe he should too."
If you insist. Next, Garry Denny.
"Your scheduling of The Pyramid on M-F mornings has already run dry. There aren’t enough episodes and repeated episodes turn around too often."
First of all, The Pyramid is only 40 episodes long. And second of all, can it be replaced with something else from Game Show Central like Idiotest? Next.....Barbara Alexander Barody.
"Match Game (the original one) is the best game show on this channel but you have taken away 1/2 hour program. Dreadful. I used to get 1 hour in the a.m. and 1 hour from 1-2 pm. Little by little you get rid of it! I will watch The Chase but after watching other shows, when I can't get Match Game, I just move to another channel."
Another GSN viewer lost. Last to go is Jayne Mahnken.
"GSN....please please PLEASE do not replace Match Game with the stupid idiotic Deal or no Deal!! Also...Get a Clue is a huge waste of a time slot."
MG should stay right here but Get a Clue needs to be relegated to the early morning hours.

And the question is.............Where was the tuxedo invented? I'll have the answer in a minute but first here's the 1st episode of a brand new season of Super Single.........thus far. In today's story, Britt takes a shot at love one step further.
That's it for this week. Today's consolation prize is mini muffins. They taste so good.....even munchkins like it.
Madison: Game Show Live! is a presenation of Jackbox Media Services, Spy Fox Entertainment and Pluto TV Networks which may or may not be responsible for the mess we made. I'm not joking. Really.
