Two of America's longest-running game shows, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! are heading back to the studio. Both shows were hit by the COVID-19 production shutdown, but Deadline reports that both syndicated shows, which come from Sony Pictures Television and CBS Television Distribution, are set to start filming this week and next.
There will, however, be a few adjustments. In Wheel of Fortune, the wheel has been redesigned to provide proper social distancing between contestants.
Over on Jeopardy!, the stage has been slightly redesigned to allow for more space between the three contestant podiums. The contestants will also be at a safe distance from host Alex Trebek at his lectern.
As you can imagine, both shows have taken health and safety precautions as they return to production in Culver City, California. Only essential staff and crew will be allowed on stage, PPE will be provided for everyone behind the scenes and all staff and crew will be tested on a regular basis, while contestants will also be tested before they come to the studio before they tape. Social distancing measures will also be rigorously enforced both on-stage and off.
Jeopardy!, which is set to film five episodes a day, two days a week, is expected to be back in the studio this week, while Wheel of Fortune is aiming to return to filming next week.
Wheel of Fortune, which is hosted by at Pat Sajak and Vanna White, is entering its 38th season, while Alex Trebek-hosted Jeopardy! is going into its 37th season. Both shows, created by Merv Griffin, are contracted through to the 2022-2023 season and are exec produced by Mike Richards, who replaces the retiring Harry Friedman.

ITV has unveiled a slew of returning and new gameshows for its autumn schedule, headlined by brand new episodes of The Chase with a brand new chaser.
With the TV industry having been heavily impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, the broadcaster has turned to gameshows as a fast, cheap and COVID-safe way of filling the schedules.
Popular teatime quiz show The Chase has been stuck on repeats since March 23 but is expected to return with new episodes - and new chaser Darragh Ennis - in September.
Also back in the daytime schedule is Ben Shephard's Tipping Point and a rebooted Supermarket Sweep with Rylan Clark-Neal, which will be stripped over five weeks and include six celebrity editions.
Omid Djalili is to host a new show for teatime, Winning Combination, which will see contestants combine to win a cash prize equivalent a random four-digit number. Phillip Schofield will host The Million Pound Cube - including a celebrity edition - and 5 Gold Rings, while Stephen Mulhern also has two gameshows in the schedule, Celebrity Catchphrase and Rolling In It.
Family Fortunes will return to primetime with Gino D'Acampo as host and there will be a new stripped run of Jeremy Clarkson's Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, with the 'Ask The Audience' lifeline being replaced with a second 'Phone A Friend'.
A second series of Beat The Chasers is also expected following its successful debut run earlier this year, although it has yet to be announced by the broadcaster.

Syndicated gameshow Family Feud is the latest production set to get back up and running.
Deadline reports that the Steve Harvey-fronted show is returning to the studio in Atlanta on Tuesday, August 4. The show is set to start airing original episodes for its 22nd season on September 14.
While the show will look and feel the same as the one viewers recognize, slight adjustments have been made to the set so that Harvey, the contestants and the crew are able to maintain the required social distancing measures.
As with other production resumptions, the show will be shot with minimal crew and no audience with crew wearing personal protective equipment and masks with regular temperature checks and all of the other rigorous health and safety protocols put in place to adhere to all state and local requirements as well as union and industry guidelines for production.
Production on season 22 has been split between LA and Atlanta with early episodes, some of which were filmed behind closed doors, shot in California before the crew moved back to Georgia.

David Dobrik is one of YouTube's biggest stars, best known for his hilarious, fast-paced vlogs — but now, he's taking his talents to reality television with a brand-new competition show centered around the classic schoolyard game of dodgeball.
Yep, you read that right; David Dobrik will soon become a television game show host for none other than the Discovery Channel, where he will pit groups of players against each other in an extreme version of dodgeball. The show, titled "Dodgeball: Thunderdome," will throw down on a 13.8-acre arena, and its competitors will include both professional athletes and contestants who may not be so sports-savvy.
The first episode of Dodgeball: Thunderdome (hearkening back to the Mad Max title of Hollywood fame) will air on Wednesday, August 9 at 9 PM. Although Dobrik is a YouTuber first and foremost, fans will have to catch the action on TV via the Discovery Channel.

Now comes the segment nobody is talking about.......

Buzz-GSN where we ask you guys on the Game Show Network Facebook page anything and everything.
https://youtu.be/yj0iG5UN2-E
We begin with Jo Anne Gurganus.
"Hello, I enjoy Masterminds and Common Sense the best. I see you have Pyramid on now. I enjoy that show also. Thanks for some good entertainment and shows that make us use our brains."
Nice praise. Maybe Candace Fish could keep the streak going.....
"The game show Master Minds is pointless because it's always the Master Mind who wins the game."
It's not fair. The Master Minds are like American Gladiators getting pounced by the contenders. Next up, Kristina Marie.
"My Grandma is very disappointed that Catch 21 is only on once instead of twice. She watches your network all day every day and it’s one of her favorites."
Guess having one Catch 21 a day is depressing, isn't it? On to Karen Clements.
"Take The Chase off!!! The SAME people have been on over and over for 3 years. Put something new on!!"
It's rerun abuse people. It's a term I haven't said in a long while. We go now to Barbara Travis.
"I used to enjoy watching your channel. However, some of your commercials are heart wrenching, depressing and sad. They are played way to often. And for that reason I will not be watching your channel any longer."
It's the sponsors who air that unhappy and sad animal adoption commerical with Sarah McLachlan warbling in tow. You wanna watch a real commercial? Go to syndication. We go now to Regan Russell.
"Watching Master Minds while waiting for a call. The attempt to copy the "Beast" attitude just does not work for them; none of them have the personality to pull it off. They all sound like Cliff Clavin."
Hmm.......I wonder why? Last to go is Michele G. Anfuso.
"There's too much Family Feud on at night. Can't you break it up with another show or two???"
Yes. Do it GSN!!!
(song stops)

While the summer olympics are pushed back to 2021, Jackbox games are far becoming what you call it the Virtual Olympics. Every streamer plays like an athlete and when the steamer becomes the head coach to the viewers as a team, they invite you to play along and get into the mentality the indie developer is making with a new party pack on the way this fall. One streamer acting like an athlete is SMRT Trivia. As seen on Live!, they did a virtual track and field event on their own. It's called.......The Jackbox Pentalon. When the bit leader of last Friday couldn't pick a game due to internet problems, 8 viewers stepped up to the challenge and took on a whole new meaning in this high speed marathon.
Game Show Live! has found some of the rarest, never before seen, and exclusive secrets hte game show world never thought you knew. This is......
Buried Treasure.
Ahoy.....we found a discovery.
Closing Theme
That's it for this week. Today's consolation prize is a half a month subscription to Disney Prime Plus where you'll get Shakira's newest project: Primary Colors is Queen.
Madison: Game Show Live! is a presenation of Jackbox Media Services, Spy Fox Entertainment and Pluto TV Networks which may or may not be responsible for the mess we made. I'm not joking. Really.
