About 2 weeks ago, Courtney Hope left B&B.

The Bold and the Beautiful vet Courtney Hope has found a new home at another CBS soap: The actress has joined The Young and the Restless, just weeks after her departure from B&B, TVLine has confirmed.

Hope teased the news on Thursday with an Instagram photo of herself wearing a Y&R hat and T-shirt, while holding a Crimson Lights mug. “This seems like a good fit,” the caption reads. Details about her character have not been revealed yet, but seeing as how the two daytime dramas are sister soaps who sometimes share characters, there has been speculation that Hope could be playing B&B‘s Sally Spectra on Y&R.

In early August, Hope announced her exit from B&B after three years. “An abrupt ending to a monumental journey,” Hope wrote at the time. “The last three years have been amazing, and though I do not know what the future holds this chapter of Sally has sadly come to an end. I love my [B&B] cast and crew and will miss everyone dearly, but await the day we may all play again. Some things are out of our control, and I thank the fans for your support through it all!”

Base Hit

Hitmen, the scripted comedy vehicle for Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc, has been renewed for a second season by Comcast-owned broadcaster Sky. NBCUniversal’s Peacock has also committed to acquiring Season 2 in the U.S. after it streamed Season 1.

Produced by Banijay’s Tiger Aspect, Hitmen is about two friends Fran (Perkins) and Jamie (Giedroyc) trying to make their way in the world with only each other to rely on. They also just happen to be assassins.

The second season, created and written by Joe Parham and Joe Markham, will see a new friend create a rift between Fran and Jamie, ultimately jeopardizing their double act.

Tiger Aspect produces in association with Sky Studios. Myfanwy Moore, Siobhan Bachman, Morwenna Gordon and Tilusha Ghelani executive produce. The commissioners are Zai Bennett, Sky UK’s managing director content, and Jon Mountague, Sky Studios’ director of comedy. NBCU Global Distribution handles international sales.

Perkins said: “Couldn’t be happier that I’m back in the van with my 9mm and best chum.” Giedroyc added: “The opportunity for two perimenopausal women from Surrey to get back into the action comedy hot seat is a) a rarity and b) just too exciting.”

Variety first reported the Hitmen renewal.

Ding!

Love Productions has wrapped filming on Season 11 of The Great British Bake Off after production was badly delayed by the coronavirus pandemic.

Filming has taken place over the past six weeks at a top-secret location in the UK, with the usual months-long production schedule significantly condensed down to overcome Covid-19.

Channel 4 and Love Productions have been incredibly tight-lipped about how and where the show has been produced during the pandemic.

What we do know is cast and crew, including new presenter Matt Lucas, were quarantined in the run-up to the shoot to allow for closer interaction on-set.

There have also been reports that the show has moved to a more Covid-friendly location from its usual Welford Park home. Jane Millichip, chief commercial officer of Love’s parent company Sky Studios, all-but confirmed this last month. “It’s all happening in deep secret, somewhere in darkest deepest Britain in the shires,” she told press.

The Great British Bake Off’s official Twitter account announced on Wednesday that filming had been completed on the series, which streams as The Great British Baking Show on Netflix in the U.S.

Thoughts will now turn to when Season 11 will premiere. Bake Off usually shoots from April, with Channel 4 premiering the show on the final Tuesday in August, which would be next week.

This will not be possible in 2020, though there have been hints that it will be on TV before the end of the year. “You will have your victoria sponge this year,” Millichip told journalists of the Broadcasting Press Guild in July.

Bake Off usually streams on Netflix in the U.S. the same week it broadcasts in the UK.

The clock on the wall tells us it's time to award somebody doing video games on a streaming service. To get into the nominated category, you have to pass a test with these qualifications:

Fremantle unsurprisingly failed to escape the headwinds of coronavirus, with the international producer behind hits, including America’s Got Talent and Too Hot To Handle, reporting a big drop in revenue and earnings in the first half of 2020.

According to parent company RTL’s results for the first six months of the year, Fremantle’s adjusted EBITA plunged to €23M ($27M), which was down 56% on the €52M ($61.5M) recorded over the same period in 2019. Revenue dropped 14% to €707M ($836M).

RTL said the declines were “mainly due to fewer deliveries of shows and postponements of productions as a result of the COVID-19 impact on numerous territories.” It added, however, that production has restarted in “most” of the territories in which Fremantle operates.

RTL pointed to creative success stories including Too Hot To Handle, which is produced by UK label Talkback and was described by Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos as the streamer’s “biggest competition show ever.” RTL added that The Salisbury Poisonings, made by Fremantle-backed Dancing Ledge Productions, became the BBC’s highest-rated new drama since 2018 and was sold to AMC.

RTL said Fremantle traditionally finishes the year strongly. “Fremantle, usually generates a higher proportion of both revenue and EBITA in the second half of the year due, in part, to the seasonality of programme sales but also to the revenue generated by the distribution, licensing and merchandising business,” it said.

As for the RTL group, a European television powerhouse, its total revenue fell 16.4% to €2.65BN ($3.1BN) in the first half of 2020. Much like Fremantle, RTL’s EBITA plummeted 52% to €258M ($305M).

Things that are missing

Television host and former NFL player Michael Strahan may rival Ryan Seacrest for the busiest man in Hollywood. The former NFL player turned television personality has been all over the small screen, hosting multiple shows, including Good Morning America

Fans have noticed that the 48-year-old television host has been absent from Good Morning America for quite some time, and wondered if he had left the show completely or is just taking a hiatus. One fan wrote, “@GMA where is @michaelstrahan and is he coming back. I miss him.”

Michael recently tweeted about the news that The $100,00 Pyramid was set to begin filming again at the end of the summer. This additional job could be another explanation for why Michael hasn’t been super involved with GMA recently. However, both shows film in New York City, so there would not be any geographical issues if he did want to host both the game show and GMA.

Michael tweeted out his excitement of getting back to hosting the game show and wrote, “Excited to get back to work with the @PyramidABC team! #100KPyramid.”

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, filming of the show that was set to begin in June 2020 was delayed. Deadline reported, “Heading into its fifth season on ABC, the series was originally set to start production in June but was hit by the COVID-19 production shutdown. It is produced by Strahan’s SMAC Entertainment in association with Sony Pictures Television and exec produced by Strahan, Constance Schwartz-Morini and Vin Rubino.”

Michael may be one of the busiest men in the business, but he still works toward a healthy work-life balance, though he doesn’t deny the challenges of being a present father while working so much. "The best part about being a father is being a father," he told Footwear News in 2017. "That’s you — you have a kid and that is a piece of you, and everything they learn — for the most part — comes from you and the way that you teach them.”

Yet to appear in the USA.........and let's hope they will.......Sing on! is being added in germany. Yes, germany. Here's what they're saying about it.

I have raised this point in the review of Sing On! Spain too because this whole evaluation format does not make the best sense to me (I am assuming I am not the only one here). I feel the format would work better if it just solely did not focus on “best vocals” bit and let fellow contestants vote the other contestants out based on who they feel is a better competition to them or no competition at all.

Some songs have been altered horribly out of recognition and that is unbearable to watch. However, because of this flawed judgement, these contestants have moved right on to the next round. That is unfair.

With Sing On! Spain and Sing On! Germany we have hit rock bottom with reality TV shows because this show shows how show producers have run out of ideas to keep the audience hooked! Sing On! Germany is light-hearted but farthest from being an entertainer that I would ask you to watch.

Please skip this. Instead, buy a Karaoke machine and sing along with your quarantine partner to glory. There’s only one way I would describe Sing On! Germany and that would be FORCED FUN! We all can do better than that.

That was Techquila.co with the review on the Netflix show. Can Australia follow suit? We'll see.

It's time to test your theatre smarts on Seize the Show and Playbill Social Select's Don’t Trust The Internet - Broadway Edition August 21, a game show that allows the viewer to play from home.

Jacob Thompson and Michael Indeglio emcee the evening of trivia along with a special guest host. Three players will be randomly selected from the audience to compete against each other through several rounds of elimination. The last one standing will compete against the audience for a prize. Audiences not selected can still play along and keep track of their scores to compete against friends.

Click here for tickets. The event starts at 8 PM. Upon registration audiences will receive an email with an individual link to access the online experience.

In order for the interactive component to work, audiences use a web-based software called Gamiotics (not an app), which allows for real-time interaction during the course of the show using their smartphones to answer the questions.

Yet to appear on Broadway in 2021 is Audriix. She released this lyric video to the world last night and here.........it comes.

So I learned that Courtney Hope is always a Guiding Light. But As The World Turns, she's on The Edge of Night and is a Loving, and caring actress in her Search for Tomorrow in this covid-19 Secret Storm, because being Sally Spectra is her Love of Life and one Brighter Day, she'll return to TPIR just to model.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go volunteer at a General Hospital, The Doctors are letting me do it for Ryan's Hope and I have One Life to Live! But tune in again when you hear Gerald Mcboing BOIng say......
