Netflix hasn't announced any plans for Dating Around Season 3, but that its second season arrives amid the COVID-19 quarantine bodes well for its future. The show managed to score a second season despite not being as buzzy as some of Netflix's other dating shows, like Love is Blind and Too Hot to Handle. That it's landing amid a time when people have never been thirstier for content will likely only increase its audience (and its renewal chances).

Another thing working in Dating Around's favor? Vulture reported earlier this year that Netflix is making a concerted effort with its reality TV offerings. "Part of the goal is, we're trying to provide something for everyone," Brandon Riegg, Netflix's chief of unscripted programming, told the outlet. "And unscripted is probably the broadest content genre that’s out there, right? It's everything from game shows to docuseries to these big competition formats. We're working hard to get all of that covered and do the best shows in those various categories."

Dating Around's format is certainly one-of-a-kind, which makes it seem like a good investment for Netflix. Still, it will likely be quite some time before fans hear anything about Season 3.

Tired Yet?

Popular Chaser Anne Hegerty, better known as The Governess, has confirmed that the Australian version of UK quiz show The Chase is currently on hold due to the coronavirus crisis.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain recently, the television star, 61, revealed that she and fellow Chaser Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett are having some trouble securing work visas at the moment. Anne told Scottish television presenter Lorraine Kelly that she was originally meant to fly out to Australia in March, which unsurprisingly didn’t happen.”And then it didn’t happen,” she said. “It was suggested that I go next month.”

Anne continued: “The thing is, those in Australia can’t get a work visa for me, they can’t get work visas for me or Mark. We’re kind of a little bit stuck at the moment. But again, we’d like to get out there as soon as we can.”

Despite filming being postponed for now, Anne said she’s enjoying some well-deserved time off. “I miss recording The Chase, we had a load of programs we were going to record and those have been postponed and that has been irritating, but apart from that to be honest, it suits me,” she said. “I’m absolutely loving it but I’m aware there are a lot of people not loving it. But I’m having a great time.”

HBO Max Debuts Trailer for Kid Competition Series KARMA

The Adventure Competition Series Will Premiere Thursday, June 18 on HBO Max

Karma takes sixteen contestants, ranging in age from 12 to 15, completely off the grid, away from parents and the normal comforts of home, to solve puzzles and overcome physical challenges, with the laws of karma setting the rules. This adventure competition series, led by YouTube host Michelle Khare, will test the mental and physical stamina of its young contestants as they unravel how their social actions impact their success in the game. Focus, giving, humility, growth, connection, change, and patience are the path to becoming the "Karma Champion." But more importantly, the players learn one of life's most profound lessons: "What you give out, you get back."

Karma is executive produced by JD Roth, Adam Greener, and Sara Hansemenn for GoodStory Entertainment.

United We Price

Television City, which is owned by Hackman Capital Partners has pledged $2 million to support the Beverly/Fairfax District community in Los Angeles and promote diversity in the entertainment industry after being slammed for allowing the Los Angeles Police Department to set up shop in the studio complex during the Fairfax protest on May 30, which was a response to the death of George Floyd.

“Television City has called this community home for nearly 70 years, and it pains us to see our neighbors, community organizations, and small businesses – many of which are trying to reopen their doors in the first time in over three months – suffer through these challenging times,” said Michael Hackman, Hackman Capital Partners’ founder and CEO, in a statement given to media. “We believe Television City can spearhead a catalytic effort among local stakeholders to provide meaningful help. This community is resilient, and will come back even stronger, more vibrant, and cohesive.

The pledge will be split evenly and go toward community revitalization, with an intention to support local organizations, businesses and individuals. The other million will go toward educational endowment to improve diversity levels and offer career opportunities in the entertainment industry.

“As a studio and as individuals, we stand in solidarity with the Black community and those speaking out against systemic racism and racial inequities,” said Hackman. “But we want to do more than talk about the issues, we want to take meaningful action. In today’s world of content creation, experienced production crews are in high demand, and we are committed to expanding these opportunities to traditionally underrepresented communities, creating jobs and building a more diverse entertainment industry.”

He continued, “The past three months have been an incredibly painful time for the Beverly/Fairfax District and our City as a whole. By working with the Black community, our neighbors, small businesses, and our City’s most beloved industry, we can emerge from this period stronger than before. I hope Television City’s pledge will inspire other stakeholders to join us in this effort; we have thought about this long enough, now is the time to act.”

The Fairfax protest started peacefully and then took a turn in the Fairfax area where Television City is located where LAPD officers were seen began getting physically aggressive with the demonstrators, striking many of them who had their hands up.

CBS, which currently leases sound stages and offices in the complex, initially came under fire but they no longer own the facility after Television City was sold to Hackman Capital in 2018.

SMRT Trivia - Trivia Night, Game Show

With Covid-19 turning the bars away like every other city, it turns to the only thing left to do.......social media. In fact, it's on Twitch each and every week. 4 times in a single work week, the first 3 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday deals with straight up trivia. Here's how that w0rks. Tuesdays often deal with themes that touch a particular subject, no less. Wednesdays, they give you regular trivia on the same purple gaming stream service. Once a question is asked, you must use and grant permission on the Quiz Kit app to answer a question that'll either gain or lose points. When the royalty free music stops and a meme that'll tell you time has expired, the answer is revealed. Thursdays, you get a different way to sign in for Team Trivia. Just like you used to play at a bar. But when Friday comes........yes, when Friday comes.....I think I'll say it again.....when Friday comes...................

3....2...wa, nevermind.

Plans to revive TV game show 3-2-1 with Dusty Bin as the booby prize were axed because it was judged too complicated.

When ITV chiefs were choosing which iconic quizzes to bring back for Alan Carr’s Epic Gameshow on Saturday nights, 3-2-1 was suggested.

But the idea was canned after producers realised it was too difficult compared to Play Your Cards Right and The Price Is Right.

Jonno Richards, the boss of Talkback who make Epic Gameshow, said: “Some game shows feel riper for areturn than others.

“We looked at 3-2-1 but it’s really tricky.

“There’s a question bit, performance bit, then there are riddles. It wouldn’t work.”

Three couples competed in a general knowledge buzzer round before one pair were eliminated.

Is Kay Adams modeling this?

Chris Tarrant, broadcaster and former presenter of the quiz show Who Want's To Be A Millionaire? will be hosting Launchpad's Quarantine Quiz on Friday, June 12.

The quiz will be held on Zoom at 8pm and will test participants knowledge on rounds including history, sport, pop culture and music.

Contestants will battle it out for some first, second and third prizes and a randomly selected participant will also receive a prize.

The charity said the questions are best suited to adults but families are welcome to join.

The quiz costs £5.98 per household to enter and will help to raise funds for extremely vulnerable people in Reading during the coronavirus pandemic.

All funds raised from the quiz will go towards Launchpad's Covid-19 emergency appeal so staff can continue providing Launchpad clients, and the local community, vital help and resources during the crises.

Do you remember the story of a lottery winner using the money to start up a campy all-girls wrestling company similar to GLOW back in the eighties? Well.........

Ryan Murphy created the game “Car, Car, Truck” shortly after the pandemic hit, encouraging Facebook Live viewers to guess the order of vehicles that drove past his house for a chance to win prizes that supported local businesses. 1:31

Cars, trucks and SUVs stream past Ryan Murphy's house on the outskirts of Perth, Ont., every now and then a horn honking in greeting.

"Number one!" he shouts back, his index finger raised in the air.

Murphy has become something of a celebrity in Lanark County.

The 43-year-old teacher has just finished hosting Car Car Truck, a guessing game show produced from his kitchen table with help from his wife Tara. It lasted more than two months and put $15,000 back into the local economy.

"It was a pretty wild, wild adventure, and I had no idea until we tallied it up on Saturday how much we'd raised," Murphy said.

Five nights a week, Murphy invited friends and neighbours to guess the order in which vehicles would pass his house. Car? Truck? Motorcycle? Then he would broadcast the traffic from his front lawn on Facebook Live while contestants watched from home.

"It's the same sort of game that lots of us played with our parents in a car when you were travelling as a child," said Susan Best, who heard people talking about it around town and decided to join in.

Members of the public chipped in prizes for the correct guesses, mostly gift certificates to be spent at local stores and services in eastern Ontario.

"All these small businesses are the ones that we constantly go to to raise money for sports, to raise money for our schools, to raise money for everything that our youth really do around here. And they always respond. So it was a chance for us to give back to them," Murphy said.

At the show's peak, 600 contestants were tuning in.

Kinda weird, isn't it?
