Now, America's favorite contestant, Pierre Kelly!

Me: Hey everybody, welcome to Game Show Live! where we get lit and get involved. Thank you all for inviting some crew members and myself to Alan Trammell Stadium last week for a lot of Rocket League fun. But now we're back in the studio given you news fast, so let's get going with.....

The Double Toasted opening toss up story.

Never in the history of the Bachelor have we had a person of color, but someone decided to take the role of the dating franchise. So why did they pick somebody? Let's investgate.

After meeting Matt James as a prospective suitor for "The Bachelorette," thousands of fans swooned over the would-be cast member. He is the total package. He has strong family values, a great career, and over the past few months, he has used his growing platform for good. Today, Matt announced on "Good Morning America" that he will take on the role as the lead of his own love story as the star of the momentous 25th season of ABC's hit romance reality series, "The Bachelor."

While much of Bachelor Nation has fallen in love with him already, many will meet the 28-year-old real estate broker, entrepreneur and community organization founder on his journey to find love for the first time. The North Carolina native went to Wake Forest University, where he majored in economics and played wide receiver for the football team. He went on to play professional football, before moving to New York City, where he now resides. His love of food and passion for giving back led to his creation of an organization that is designed to find creative ways to engage kids from underserved communities in New York City, encouraging physical and mental wellness, while also giving them opportunities for new experiences throughout the city.

Season 25 of "The Bachelor" is scheduled to premiere in 2021.

Rachel Lindsay, who in an interview recently called The Bachelor franchise's lack of diversity "embarrassing", took to social media today to weigh in on this morning's announcement that Matt James has been cast as the franchise's first black Bachelor.

Lindsay appeared on season 21 of The Bachelor and was the first African American lead on its spinoff, The Bachelorette. "Congrats to Matt James," Lindsay tweeted Friday following the announcement." I am happy to see that a black man was cast after 18 years and 40 seasons. I believe it is a step in the right direction."

But Lindsay did question the timing of the casting. "I would be remiss to not point out that based on the current climate, it feels like a knee-jerk reaction and a result of societal pressure," she wrote. "This announcement, without any further commitments regarding diversity, sweepingly brushes deeper issues under the rug."

With that reaction, it came from former Bachelor(ette) alumni with positive results inculding this from Calia Quinn.

Caila Quinn

"After 40 seasons of The Bachelor, today's news is a momentous step forward, as @MattJames919 was just announced as the first Black Bachelor," the season 20 Bachelor contestant wrote via Instagram. "It makes me feel so proud to be a part of this Bachelor family that listens and stands up for representation. Literally just heard the news and want to shout it from the rooftops!!"

She added, "As a daughter of biracial parents, watching cross-cultural/ diverse love unfold feels deeply personal and inclusive. I have heard wonderful things about this handsome man of faith who is generous & kind - can’t wait to cheer on his journey for love."

Will Matt James succeed as a bachlelor? We'll find out in the fall.

Now for some upfront news.

We start with The CW.

The CW Network announced today that it is adding a quartet of alternative acquisitions to its summer line-up and has set its remaining summer 2020 premiere dates. Making their U.S. debuts on The CW's already loaded summer schedule of acquired and original programming are the horror whodunnit competition KILLER CAMP on Thursday, July 16 (8:00-9:00pm ET/PT), the docu-series BEING REUBEN on Friday, August 7 (9:00-9:30pm ET/PT) and the comedy panel game show TASKMASTER on Sunday, August 2 (8:00-9:00pm ET/PT) followed that night by the family-centric cooking competition FRIDGE WARS (9:00-10:00pm ET/PT).

Top chefs compete to make an amazing feast using leftovers and ingredients found in your fridge in the culinary competition FRIDGE WARS. Each episode, two top chefs are pitted against one another with a challenge to create extraordinary meals using only the ingredients taken from the fridges of ordinary families. We learn why dinnertime is a source of stress and panic when host Emma Hunter visits a family's home and conducts a surprise fridge raid - taking everything from last week's leftover lasagna to the condiment collection, and even snatching that questionable bag of frozen vegetables from 2016. The competition commences back at the FRIDGE WARS studio where the family's fridge is recreated for both chefs. Once the clock starts, the chefs have 45 minutes to get dinner on the table - cooking with ingredients they've never seen for people they've never met! Inside their fridges, the chefs scour through the ingredients imagining what they can possibly pull together. But it's the outside of the fridge that holds clues that guide the chefs to create a winning meal strategy. The family calendar, take-out menus, photos and maybe a gluten-free recipe are all potential clues to influence what meal will be a hit with these total strangers. When time's up, the family takes their place at the dining room table and tastes each meal, scoring them on look, taste and originality - without knowing who cooked what. Those results go in the FRIDGE WARS vault and we do it all again with a new family and a new fridge full of challenges, this time upping the ante with a "What the Fridge (WTF) Challenge" that forces both chefs to adapt to a totally unique culinary crisis. With both families' scores tabulated, the final scene reveals which chef successfully created a mouth-watering masterpiece to win the "Fridge Wars" battle. Hosted by comedian Emma Hunter, FRIDGE WARS is co-produced and co-created by The Gurin Company and the CBC. The show is executive produced by Tracie Tighe (CBC) and Emmy(R) and Rose d'Or winner Phil Gurin (The Gurin Company).

In The CW's new satirical horror whodunit reality competition KILLER CAMP, 11 British strangers are shocked to discover they are not going on a fun new reality show called "Summer Camp" but actually participating in an over-the-top "murder" mystery series called "Killer Camp." Camp Counselor Bobby will be the first to tell you that everything at Camp Pleasant is picturesque and perfect... except the minor problem of the brutal murders. In typical reality show fashion, there will be camaraderie, sex appeal, and lots of backstabbing... only this time, literally. As the campers play games to earn cash during the day, each night one of them will meet their untimely demise in ever more extreme, hilarious and inventive ways. Nobody can be trusted, as one of the campers among them is actually the secret murderer controlling the evil camp handyman "Bruce," who executes the bloody hilarious death scenes. It's up to the campers to determine who is pulling the strings, cast out the murderer and save themselves before it's too late. Comedian Bobby Mair takes on presenting duties as Camp Counselor Bobby. Executive produced by Steph Harris, KILLER CAMP is from Tuesday's Child and originally aired on ITV2.

TASKMASTER is an International Emmy and triple BAFTA nominated comedy game show starring comedian and actor Greg Davies in the title role of the all-powerful Taskmaster, who issues simple comedic and bizarre tasks to five regular contestants - usually comedians - with Alex Horne (the show creator) acting as the Taskmaster's assistant. The tasks - usually performed in isolation, but occasionally in teams - are designed to encourage the players to think laterally and creatively. TASKMASTER is from Avalon ("Breeders," "Everything's Gonna Be Okay," "Last Week Tonight With John Oliver," "Catastrophe") with executive producers Alex Horne, Richard Allen-Turner, Rob Aslett, James Taylor, Jon Thoday and Andy Devonshire (who also serves as the series' director) with Hilary Rosen for UKTV. .

To the Peacock network we go....

Heading into the 2020-21 season, NBC unveils a fall lineup capitalizing on strong incumbency and momentum following a number of multi-year pickups for stalwart shows, including "New Amsterdam," "Chicago Fire," "Chicago Med," "Chicago P.D." "Law & Order: SVU" and "This Is Us." Featuring gripping dramas that include "Manifest," fan-favorite comedies "Superstore" and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" and unrivaled alternative programming, including the return of coaches Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani and host Carson Daly on "The Voice," the network's fall schedule sees 16 returning shows, and one new drama with "Law & Order: Organized Crime."

"Thanks to the ingenuity of our creative teams and our partner studios, NBC has assembled a remarkably stable schedule at a time when stability is called for," said Paul Telegdy, Chairman, NBC Entertainment. "With the reopening of the Universal lot for select productions this week, we are confident that our schedule will premiere intact later this fall. We design shows for longevity and this schedule remains a powerful propulsive force for shows to start here and carry on entertaining across generations." Telegdy continued, "Our brand has always championed positive programming, and the events of this year have allowed us the time to take pause, examine our business with a new lens and take some immediate action. Since many of our writers' rooms have not yet opened, we are taking this opportunity to offer all of this season's showrunners the chance to enrich their team with an additional diverse writer at any level. It is not the solution by any means, but it is something we can do right now to take a positive step."

The network will continue to work with NBCUniversal and studio partners on a long-term plan to increase diversity and inclusion in all aspects of our business. In the meantime, NBC will work to increase the overall percentage of diverse talent in this year's writers' rooms by funding an additional writer for every scripted show in the 20/21 season. For the third consecutive year, each returning show will also participate in the network's Female Forward, Emerging Director Program or Alternative Directors Program, all of which provide opportunities for women and ethnically diverse directors in the scripted and unscripted space. While production guidelines due to COVID-19 may impact the programs slightly, the intent of all the above programs remains to provide participants with an in-season episode to direct.

Both returning alternative hits and new series will also arrive to conquer midseason, led by the fourth season of the Ellen DeGeneres smash "Ellen's Game of Games." Joining Ellen in primetime as a master of ceremonies is Jimmy Fallon, who will executive produce and host "That's My Jam," a new comedy variety event series inspired by the wildly popular, celebrity-fueled musical segments made famous on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon."

In the case of "Small Fortune," big series can certainly come in small packages, especially in this game show where teams of friends and family take on tiny games to win huge money.

NBC tied for #1 for the 2019-20 September-to-May primetime season in the key adult 18-49 demographic excluding sports, and is #1 outright in scripted programming. The network's schedule is led by television's #1 series, "NBC Sunday Night Football"; the #1 scripted series in 18-49, "This Is Us"; television's perennial #1 most-watched summer series, "America's Got Talent"; and Wednesday's "Chicago" dramas, all three of which rank among the top 10 dramas on television in 18-49 and total viewers. Returning shows for the 2020-21 schedule include "The Blacklist," "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," "Chicago Fire," "Chicago Med," "Chicago P.D.," "Dateline NBC," "Ellen's Game of Games," "Good Girls," "Law & Order: SVU," "Making It," "Manifest," "NBC Sunday Night Football," "New Amsterdam," "Superstore," "This Is Us," "The Voice" and "Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist." Additional previously announced new series include "Kenan," "Mr. Mayor," "Small Fortune," "That's My Jam" "Transplant," "True Story," "Who Do You Think You Are?," and "Young Rock." .

Finally, the alphabet network.

UPDATE: Today, ABC announced the Emmy(R) Award-nominated comedy series "black-ish" will join the network's Wednesday night lineup when the 2020-2021 prime-time schedule premieres. The previously announced new comedy "Call Your Mother" will debut later in the season.

Having just solidified its position as the No. 1 network in entertainment among Adults 18-49 for the first time in four years, ABC is announcing its 2020 premiere schedule. The network's previously announced programming slate includes renewals for 20 series and two straight-to-series orders from its current crop of pilots - David E. Kelley's thriller "Big Sky" and the comedy "Call Your Mother" (formerly "My Village") from Kari Lizer ("The New Adventures of Old Christine") - as well as the revival of alternative series "Supermarket Sweep" with Leslie Jones.

Note: New seasons of "American Idol," "The Bachelor," "black-ish," "For Life" and "mixed-ish" will be premiering later in the season.

ABC is bringing back the classic TV game show "Supermarket Sweep," hosted and executive produced by Emmy(R) Award-nominated comedienne and actress Leslie Jones. The fast-paced and energetic series follows three teams of two as they battle it out using their grocery shopping skills and knowledge of merchandise to win big cash prizes. The original format aired on ABC from 1965-1967 and went on to become a global sensation. It was adapted in 13 international territories and, most recently, relaunched in the UK. "Supermarket Sweep" is produced by Fremantle. Executive producers include Leslie Jones, Hunter Seidman and Jennifer Mullin, Alycia Rossiter and Wes Kauble. Follow "Supermarket Sweep" (#SupermarketSweep) on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

Also returning in game shows: "Dancing with the Stars", "Shark Tank", "The Bachelorette", and "Who Wants to Be A Millionaire".

And now a con-chair-to change....if you will.

The Voice's game of musical chairs continues, with former coach Gwen Stefani set to fill in for Nick Jonas during Season 19. She will be joined by returning coaches Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Blake Shelton during the upcoming cycle, which is currently on track to premiere this fall.

Stefani's return was confirmed on Wednesday when the Peacock network unveiled its fall schedule, which also includes fellow returning series The Blacklist, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Manifest, New Amsterdam, Superstore, This Is Us and the entire #OneChicago slate, as well as Law & Order: SVU and the Christopher Meloni-fronted, Stabler-centric spinoff Law & Order: Organized Crime.

The No Doubt frontwoman first joined the NBC singing competition as a full-time coach in Season 7, then returned for Seasons 9, 12 and 17. She also served as a part-time advisor to Pharrell Williams and Shelton during Seasons 8 and 10, respectively.

Meanwhile, Jonas was recruited to fill Stefani's seat in Season 18 when she departed the show for a Las Vegas residency. His first (and, for now, only) season proved to be an irregular one, with the series forced to complete its spring cycle virtually due to the coronavirus pandemic. His finalist, Thunderstorm Artis, ultimately placed third, while Team Blake scored yet another win with artist Todd Tilghman.

Circle this next story.

Channel 4 has confirmed one of the worst-kept secrets in British TV — that The Circle is going to be renewed for a third season. It has also revealed there will be a celebrity version for charity Stand Up To Cancer, and the show will be tweaked because of the coronavirus crisis.

The Studio Lambert and Motion Content Group format will return to Channel 4 in early 2021, opening with a week-long celebrity edition, before everyday contestants enter the reality show, in which they catfish their way to a cash prize. It follows Netflix renewing The Circle for a second and third season in the U.S.

Production on Season 3 will begin in Salford, Greater Manchester, later this year, but it will all be pre-recorded as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, meaning there will be no studio audience or live shows. Emma Willis and comedian Sophie Willan will reprise their roles as host and voiceover respectively.

The truth is.....

A game show hosted by R-Truth is coming to the WWE Network next month.

During his appearance on WWE's The Bump this morning, it was announced that "The R-Truth Game Show" will premiere on the WWE Network on Tuesday, July 14. A brief preview revealed that the game show was done remotely over video. Alexa Bliss, Natalya, Sheamus, and The Miz were shown during the preview.

R-Truth said a lot of his ingenuity went into the game show, he keeps account of the points, there are a lot of prizes, and there are trivia games, scavenger hunts, and other kinds of games.

The concept of an R-Truth game show on the WWE Network was first planned years ago. A pilot was filmed in 2017, but the series ended up never airing.

R-Truth is the current WWE 24/7 Champion. He won the title from Rob Gronkowski on Raw earlier this month. With Gronkowski returning to the NFL, he's no longer under contract with WWE.

Closing Theme

That's it for this week. Today's consolation prize is a gyro sandwich with Doritos from Yanni's. Come for the food, stay for the actual music performed by Yanni. You know, the guy with the rock star hair who did the iconic PGA theme for CBS for years. Yeah, not Laurel, Yanni. I said it.
