 The whatstrending.com Opening Toss-Up story.

"Jeopardy!" host Alex Trebek says that he wishes he "had known sooner" about the symptoms of pancreatic cancer so that he could have started combating his ailment at an earlier time.
In an international public service announcement (PSA) for World Pancreatic Cancer Day on Oct. 30, Trebek says that pancreatic cancer is "the only major cancer with a five-year survival rate in the single digits." At another point in the video, he shows vulnerability when explaining how he failed to realize the seriousness of some of the early symptoms that he experienced.
"I wish I had known sooner that the persistent stomach pain I experienced before my diagnosis was a symptom of pancreatic cancer," Trebek says. "Other common symptoms can include mid-back pain, unexplained weight loss, new onset diabetes, and the yellowing of the skin or eyes."

Back in March, Trebek posted a video announcing that he had been diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
Trebek said he had already begun his latest round of chemotherapy in the hope that his numbers will decrease and that he's noticed some hair loss as part of the new treatment.
Trebek had previously said in May that he was in remission and returned to work on "Jeopardy!" in August to film the game show's 36th season.

And speaking of Jeopardy!....

Many-time "Jeopardy!" champion James Holzhauer now knows his return date to the Alex Trebek-hosted game show — and whom he'll face.
Holzhauer will play the answers-as-questions game again in next month's "Tournament of Champions," with Wednesday, Nov. 6 marking his first time back at the buzzer since that long winning-streak ended in June.
The woman who ended it, Emma Boettcher, will also play in the tournament. Ken Jennings, the only competitor to ever win more "Jeopardy!" games than Holzhauer, is not in this one.
Below is the schedule and mini bios of each day's players.
Monday, Nov. 4
- Gilbert Collins, a university administrator from Princeton, New Jersey
- Anneke Garcia, an instructional design consultant from Salt Lake City, Utah
- Kyle Jones, a music teacher from Aurora, Colorado

Tuesday, Nov. 5
- Dhruv Gaur, a student at Brown University from Gainesville, Georgia
- Rachel Lindgren, an astronomy interpreter from Bend, Oregon
- Rob Worman, an engagement manager from Edina, Minnesota
Wednesday, Nov. 6
- Alan Dunn, a software development manager from Johns Creek, Georgia
- James Holzhauer, a professional sports gambler from Las Vegas, Nevada
- Lindsey Shultz, a physician and healthcare analyst from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Thursday, Nov. 7
- Eric R. Backes, an attorney and government relations professional from Oviedo, Florida
- Emma Boettcher, a user experience librarian from Chicago, Illinois
- Josh Hill, a network engineer from North Little Rock, Arkansas
Friday, Nov. 8
- Francois Barcomb, an 11th grade physics teacher from New Paltz, New York
- Ryan Fenster, a graduate student from Seatac, Washington
- Steven Grade, a sports industry consultant from Atlanta, Georgia
In Week 2 of the tournament, the semifinals air Monday, Nov. 11 – Wednesday, Nov. 13 and the two-day finals air Thursday, Nov. 14 and Friday, Nov. 15. The winner will claim the $250,000 grand prize, while the second-place finisher earns $100,000, and third place takes home $50,000.

Tune In again when you hear Jay Stevens say......

Once upon a time way before Megarace and 3d pinball, you know, the spacey one, there was.....

And now....it's about to be a game show.

Microsoft's classic computer game Minesweeper is being reimagined as a TV competition series.
The project is in the works via a deal with OBB Pictures, which is now developing a take that like the original will feature strategy but add in teamwork and athleticism on a grand scale.
OBB is fast-tracking the project and has begun talks for a host.
Created in 1990, the objective of the single-player game is to clear a rectangular board containing hidden mines without detonating them. The series will raise the stakes as contestants compete against each other and the clock to clear interactive mine boards.
OBB president and CEO Michael D. Ratner will executive produce with OBB's Scott Ratner and Kfir Goldberg. Executive producers for Microsoft include Paul Jensen, Derek Dutilly and Will Frost..

And when you're tired of that, try Legos. because......

Will Arnett has been tapped to host Lego Masters, Fox's new Lego-building competition series.
Based on the hit British reality-competition series of the same name, Lego Masters, from Endemol Shine North America, Tuesday's Child and Brad Pitt's Plan B, will feature pairs of Lego enthusiasts facing off in brick-building challenges. Throughout the competition, Arnett, alongside expert judges, will encourage the builders, introduce challenges and put the creations to the test until one duo is crowned Lego Masters.
No stranger to Lego, Arnett, who voices Lego Batman in The Lego Movie franchise, will also serve as an executive producer on the series. It's set to premiere Wednesday, February 5 at 9 PM on Fox.

One day, a Midwestern kid set his sights on Hollywood and headed West. He gave himself six months to make it or return to Nebraska. The day before his self-imposed deadline, he landed a job writing for television.
It sounds too corny for an inspirational movie, yet this is Harry Friedman's life.
Now, after decades of running "Jeopardy!" and "Wheel of Fortune," Friedman is receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Nov. 1, just months ahead of his planned May 2020 retirement. He'll be 73, and although it's been "a hell of a lot of fun," it was time, he says, to step down from his executive producer role on the syndicated hits.
"When we went on the air in '83, there were three networks, and that was it. No Fox, no streaming, no cell phones, no nothing," says "Wheel of Fortune" host Pat Sajak. "It is as different as night and day now, but we continue to succeed, and we have continued to prevail. If we had kept on the same trajectory, I have no doubt we would be talking about 'Wheel' in the past tense. But Harry has a way of keeping the thing fresh.".

Simon Cowell is preparing a new version of The X Factor featuring bands to rival a BBC format starring British pop stars Little Mix.
The music impresario is set to launch The X Factor: The Band, a spin-off of the long-running ITV series that will aim to search for all-male and all-female groups. The series will be produced by Fremantle's Talkback and will air later this year, replacing a proposed "all-star" spin-off of The X Factor that was set to feature previous winners.
The series, which launches in December, comes ahead of the BBC's Little Mix: The Search, which is set to air early next year. The seven-part series will star Little Mix, which includes Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, to create bands and becoming mentors to a new wave of talent. Little Mix: The Search is produced by ModestTV, the nascent production company set up by Little Mix's management company.
Cowell previously worked with Little Mix, who won The X Factor. Cowell told British tabloid The Sun that he had been approached to co-produce Little Mix: The Search but had "fallen out" with the group and their management.
"I told them the problem was we have a conflict of interest because we are launching The X Factor: The Band in 2020. We were told their show was going to launch in 2021," he said. "Regardless, it was too much fun not to do this year. I would rather it was us doing it first. It 100% makes it more exciting there being a battle."

And now.....something we can all relate to.

http://www.qwizx.com/gssfx/usa/blockbredring.wav

Buzz-GSN where we ask you guys on the GSN facebook page everything and anything.

Debi Dulaney Myers will start with....

"Time to change the line up. Fried on family feud. How about running TheChase, Catch 21 and more Wheel of Fortune."

I think you got those 3 right. They're already on the schedule. How about Rachel Schroder?

"how old is the show common knowledge? many questions have incorrect answers, BUT the one that asks what to do with old prescriptions, IS SO WRONG!! coffee grounds and put in the garbage?? wrong!!! drugs should be taken to a drop off site. not polluting the ground water."

Commom Knowledge is old enough to skip from kindergarten to college in one year. Speaking of the word College, Steve College will be next.

"Here we go again. With all the game shows that have appeared over the years, why is it that every time I tune into Game Show Network, Family Feud is on? Go into the archives and put some older shows on."

That's what GSN should do once it hits 25 years old. On now to Jo Feldman.

"new catch 21 is awful. set is too vegas, whitney (?) is too nothing, miss the multiple choice format. Overall, a big 0"

I actually say it's a 10 for me. We go next to Debra Bulfinch.

"I love Catch 21 I watch all of the reruns. I am really trying to like the new show but, it is like you are holding them back from being them self's. The old show is lively and up beat a lot of action. The new show is dull like they are just going through the motion. The dance seen in the beginning is the best part of the show. They are having a good time. Sorry but the new show is like a stiff shirts. Let them and the audience turn loose."

Um......let's go to Clark Tucker.

"I. The New Catch 21, how come Alfonso never says goodbye to the losing contestant at the end of round 2? Seems kind of odd."

To game the game ever more quicker and more faster. We go next to Linda Sue Thompson.

"I have to know.... any one Who watches emogenius on the weekends I have you ever gotten annoyed by that zipping sound in the background they’ve got some sort of a laugh track or something occasionally yipping like a high-pitched dog. I don’t know if they’re pushing pushing a button to cause that or if it’s just set to do it every so many seconds, but Its as annoying as
heck and funny at the same time"

And even though you don't have to wait on weekends to watch it anytime on Netflix. Let's close it out with Marsha mcKenzie.

"What happened to the multiple choice and hell I can dance and I’m cute. Reminds me of Halloween 5 or a remake that couldn’t be REMADE!!! But I still love you “Carlton”."

Um...i know why. Because the old version had people interrupting on questions when they think they know the question. That's what carried over to the new version.

Now for a gamestop Game break. Since our featured act is from his or her hometown, we took 2 screenshots of the TV game show "The Class-h Room" which is local in Philadelphia. Here's the category you're facing.

And the question is.....

Hopfefully it won't be deadly after a Google play music interlude because oru Blackout Black-haired beauty Christa nannos comes back for Nan-November. You may see her to burpees on twitter like this......

But despite chronic illness, she won't stop this game of Hollywood and this cover you're about to see will make you feel better.

And I say the answer is.....

https://youtu.be/gspg08BHpL4

There are questions that are scientifically asked like........"Why Is The Sky Blue?", "Why is Air Invisible?" or......When will they ever bring back the Tv show "Firefly?" I miss that show. But teh 1986 remake of the ABC hit game show Split Second has these hard-hitting questions......

And to give you the answer to those questions......

• The Pacific Ocean • No • Yes • No • Millions of miles, if you look straight up • It hadn't been built yet • Parquet • No • Beer (or so they claim) • No • Burma-Shave • Walt Disney • Yes • They're in the pancreas • Yes

Now, don't you feel smart?
