Retired New York Giants legend Michael Strahan has not slowed down one bit since he left the NFL, creating a wildly successful media career, a clothing line and various other business and media ventures.
Strahan has hosted game shows, award shows and even helped co-create SMAC Entertainment, a production company that is now set to launch a scripted series based on hit Netflix docu-series “Last Chance U,” which centers around Junior College football players trying to work their way back into Division I programs.
Soon entering its fourth season, “Last Chance U” is a highlight of the original content created by Netflix. Fans have been able to watch along as players like John Franklin III, Dakota Allen and Ronald Ollie revitalized their lives and careers, culminating in their arrival in the NFL.
The scripted series being launched by SMAC Entertainment will initially focus on the first two seasons of “Last Chance U” where East Mississippi Community College was featured. And playing the ever-important focal role of Brittany Wagner, the now-former academic adviser beloved by all, will be none other than former “Friends” star Courteney Cox, reports Dateline.

Eat This!

Alton Brown is bringing back the groundbreaking series that inspired a generation of food fans with culinary science, history, comedy, puppets, cameras inside appliances and great recipes with Good Eats: The Return, premiering on Sunday, August 25th with double episodes at 10pm and 10:30pm (all times ET/PT) on Food Network. These airings mark the first new, original Good Eats episodes since 2012. The season tackles a brand-new menu of food exploration as only Alton can, with episode titles including "American Classics X: Chicken Parm," "Every Grain Old is New Again," and "Rich Little Poor Boy."
"Many of our viewers fell in love with food by watching Alton on Good Eats and they are not shy in letting us know they are hungry for more," said Courtney White, President, Food Network. "We also cannot wait to give the next generation of fans the opportunity to discover the show, which is chock-full of food facts, comedic skits and fantastic recipes, all in Alton's inimitable style."
"I took a break to work on live tour shows and a game show (Cutthroat Kitchen) and a book that I needed to get out of my system. Now it's time to get back to work and that work is Good Eats: The Return," said Alton Brown.
Each episode of Good Eats takes an informative and comedic deep dive into a specific ingredient or dish through Alton's eyes. Punctuated by pop culture, tried-and-true recipes and the show's unique cast of characters, Good Eats is about food in its finest and funniest form. In the season premiere, Alton makes the argument that Italian food as we know it was actually invented in America and that Chicken Parmesan is the dish where it all began - and yet, an Italian canned tomato makes it all possible. The episode immediately following explores ancient American grains amaranth, chia and quinoa. They are making a comeback due to their versatility and nutritional content, and Alton shows how to make the most of these very old kitchen newcomers. Upcoming episode themes include the ultimate sourdough recipe, shakshuka and steak tartare.

Final story of the blog:

Yabba dabba....Whammy?

Warner Bros. Animation continues to mine its vault of classic titles for reboots. The company has teamed with Elizabeth Banks’ Brownstone Productions to develop a new Flintstones primetime animated adult comedy series.
The project, which is based on an original idea, will be featuring characters from the classic Hanna-Barbera family series The Flintstones, which aired from 1960-1966 and spawned a live-action movie franchise. The new adult animated comedy, which is in very early stages of development, will be produced by Warner Bros. Animation.
There is no network yet but WarnerMedia’s upcoming streaming platform HBO Max is a logical destination. HBO Max also is home of Warner Bros. Animation’s upcoming Gremlins prequel series. WBA’s other upcoming reboot, Animaniacs, is at Hulu.
Flintstones spinoff kids series from WBA, Yabba-Dabba Dinosaurs!, had been ordered by Boomerang SVOD. The project halted production earlier this year after completing one season of its two-season order.
The new Flintstones falls under the Brownstone’s overall deal at Warner Bros. TV, which was recently re-upped.
The highest-profile effort for a new incarnation of The Flintstones came eight years ago when Fox gave a straight-to-series order to a new Flintstones series from Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane.
For MacFarlane, it was a childhood dream-come-true — by his own admission, the very first cartoon character he drew at age 2 was Fred Flintstone. MacFarlane was to co-write The Flintstones reboot with Dan Palladino and executive produce it with him and Kara Vallow. It took two years of complex deal-making between 20th TV, where MacFarlane is based, and Warner Bros. TV, which has the rights to the classic Hanna-Barbera series, to make the project a reality but it was ultimately scrapped because of MacFarlane’s overcrowded schedule.
The new Flintsones project was first reported by Variety.
