When it comes to range, few comedians can match veteran stand-up Alonzo Bodden.
He's been in the business for more than 20 years and is known for being able to put a comedic spin on even serious topics like racism. And he can then seamlessly segue into talking about the intricacies of matching appliances, or the frustration of being a fan of the NBA's Los Angeles Clippers.
Bodden — who won the third season of NBC reality show "Last Comic Standing" in 2004 and is a regular panel member on National Public Radio's comedic news quiz show "Wait Wait ... Don't Tell Me!" — tests his improvisational skills in his latest endeavor, hosting "Family Feud Live: Celebrity Edition."
The touring version of the popular TV show will be in Virginia Beach on Wednesday. Actress and Olympics gymnast Cathy Rigby and Grocery Store Joe Amabile, of the "Bachelor" reality show universe, will be team captains for the local players. To get picked to play, register at the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts box office, starting three hours before show time. You don't have to buy a ticket to get picked, but you do have to buy one to watch the show. Prizes and cash worth up to $5,000 will be given away to players and audience members.
For the "Feud," Bodden will take the role currently filled by Steve Harvey on TV.

NBC’s Jeopardy! is getting more episodes added to Netflix in June 2019 with collection six arriving on June 28th.
New episodes of Jeopardy! have come to Netflix in quick succession since its original announcement back in October 2018 when we saw the first collection or as its dubbed “Tournament of Champions II”.
The second collection arrived on November 2nd, 2018 with the collection entitled: “College Championship”.
The third round of episodes came in February with another three collections. The three collections were entitled “Teen Tournament”, “Kids Week” and “Teachers Tournament”.
The next set of episodes are scheduled to join Netflix in the United States, the United Kingdom as well as multiple other regions on June 28th, 2019. On the Jeopardy! Netflix page, it simply says “Series coming on 28 June”. That’s pretty vague but obviously gives us the news that new episodes are inbound.

The mixed Tag mixmasters Scott & Ryceejo have done many Disney acapella mashups on their channel, but they decided to go outside of the company and do a medley of songs based on a K-pop group. Let's see what happens.

Award-winning actress Jane Lynch is no stranger to the entertainment world. She won over our hearts as Sue Sylvester in "Glee," which hit the air 10 years ago. Now, she stars as Sophie Lennon on "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" and hosts her own celebrity game show.
Lights, camera, action. "Hollywood Game Night" returns July 11, and this time around, the show is headed down to Malibu, California.
"It's like throwing a party at your house, but everyone leaves after an hour and a half," the actress joked. Different celebrities across the industry participate as they challenge one another in hilarious party games.
But when it came to picking favorites on this upcoming game show, Kelly Clarkson wins hands-down. "She cheats like crazy, she's competitive, she screams the whole time," Lynch said.
Alongside Clarkson, other celebrities on the Red Nose Day edition of "Hollywood Game Night" in March were Jennifer Garner, Kristen Bell, Kenan Thompson, and Sean Hayes.

This past Wednesday when we went to break, we showed you the trailer for the new Tellymime. To give you an idea as to what the new changes are, the folks at REW Retro Superstation sent in this memo:

"When we first debuted the series last summer, we wanted to make a show that discusses media and television though the eyes of the character known as Skyler McNulty who performs under the alias Skyeheart Z. TellyMime.
Throughout the first three seasons of this series, you may or may not have heard or seen a lot of situations that has affected the production. Notably, I’ve made a tough decision to let go a few of the talent that was on this series. It is also with that in mind that the character of Skyler McNulty is also fading into the sunset as well. Basically it was a chance to give TellyMime the reboot it needed to get you to tune in.
As mentioned before, this was not an easy decision to make when it comes to this. I have been open and candid with those I’ve worked with and I do believe that this builds character and connections. I sincerely want to thank Jordyn and Marah for portraying Skyler for the short time they’ve been on the series.
Truth be told, mistakes were made in the process of creating a web series and on my part, I am sorry for the lack of communication and clarity with said actors.
As a content creator, it is a responsibility to maintain an open and transparent conversation with regards to the situations at hand. I am extremely thankful and proud of the hard work we’ve done to make this series possible. We are not perfect at all, and we don’t strive to be.
So this season, TellyMime is starting fresh. I’m so thankful in reuniting with Brandy Whitford in starring as Vivi zeMime and Anita Cordell as Yancey."

So there you have it. Stay glued to Game Show Live! for further developments.

Why is this news?

What is the opposite of “Nailed it“?
Netflix on Tuesday evening promptly removed one of the thumbnails it has in rotation for the reality competition Nailed It!, after the questionable composition was brought to the attention of co-host Nicole Byer.
Said thumbnail (shown at right, in a since-deleted tweet grabbed by E! News) featured assistant director “Wes” (who sometimes appears on-camera) and co-host Jacques Torres. Netflix is known to run “A/B” tests of different thumbnail images on its homepage, tailored to specific customers/their established preferences or merely to offer a variety of visual cues. (The streamer has also been accused of changing the order in which episodes are arranged based on the viewer’s assumed sexual identity, but that’s a whole other hullabaloo.)

Byer at first responded with a series of tweets that questioned the thumbnail’s composition, saying, “If Netflix didn’t sign my checks and give me a huge platform and opportunity to showcase my comedy, I would talk about how… disrespectful this is to me a black woman [and] how black women are a lot of times erased from many different conversations…. I would talk about how it makes me know my true value as the host of the show where I work incredibly hard to elevate the material given to me…. I would talk about how this [is] essentially white washing for more views. But they sign my checks and I’m honestly so happy and grateful to and for the show and no sarcasm I love my job and wish to keep it so I’ll be quiet.”
Byer later removed those tweets after obtaining resolution to the perceived slight.

Let's lighten things up with a 60-second song break from Ashley Seal which starts as soon as I clean out my Binjpipe queue....

Now.

Back to the news.

Well That was Fun.

Paoli native Emma Boettcher, dubbed “the giant killer” by Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek after taking down James Holzhauer, ran out of answers Thursday when it came to American music legends.
And it was another contestant from the Main Line that defeated her.

Boettcher, the 27-year-old University of Chicago librarian who ended Holzhauer’s historic 33-game run on Monday night, was working on extending her own three-game winning streak Thursday.
Boettcher entered Final Jeopardy in second place, just $200 behind Brendan Roach, a policy researcher originally from Wayne. But Boettcher, who wrote her master’s paper on the popular game show, was a single letter off in her answer to last night’s Final Jeopardy clue:
Steinbeck called him “just a voice and a guitar” but said his songs embodied “the will of a people to endure and fight against oppression”
Boettcher got the last name correct — Guthrie — but incorrectly said “A. Guthrie” instead of the correct response, “Woody Guthrie." Ultimately it didn’t matter, because even if Boettcher had answered correctly, she wouldn’t have been able to top the $38,200 Roach ended the game with.

To end this Livewire! jinx, here's this link:

Her new Album is dropping and it's called "Starfish." I think you'll listen to after this blog but for now.....here's her from her RV with "Fire In Paradise."

That's all for now, but remember one thing: Is it okay to take Press Your Luck on the road? Sign me up!

So until next time and all the time.....play on playas.
