 The whatstrending.com Opening Toss-Up story.

Alex Trebek has more good news to share regarding his cancer treatment: Less than three months after announcing his initial diagnosis, the Jeopardy! host is nearing remission, according to his doctors.
As Trebek revealed in an interview with People, some of his tumors "have already shrunk by more than 50 percent" following chemotherapy, despite the disheartening survival rate for Stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
"It's kind of mind-boggling. The doctors said they hadn't seen this kind of positive result in their memory," Trebek shared, adding that he cried "tears of joy, not tears of depression" upon learning the good news.
Trebek first revealed his cancer diagnosis in March, maintaining that he "plan[s] to beat the low survival-rate statistics for this disease." Earlier this month, he offered a positive health update to Good Morning America's Robin Roberts, revealing that his platelet count and cancer markers had thus far been reassuring. He also candidly shared his experiences with surges of "deep, deep sadness" during treatment. "I've discovered in this whole episode, ladies and gentlemen, that I'm a bit of a wuss. But I'm fighting through it," he said at the time.
Trebek's chemotherapy is ongoing, and he currently plans to return to Jeopardy! for its 36th season this fall.

But on Monday......this happened.

A librarian by the name of Emma Bottcher did what no other challenger would do. The 27-year old librarian decided to pull out a stunning Final Jeopardy wager move that ejected him out of the champion's chair and took her place on the throne.

Boettcher obtained a a master’s degree in information science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill after studying English and Shakespeare as an undergrad at Princeton University. (No surprise that she nailed the Final Jeopardy question, which asked the contestants to identify Elizabethan writer Christopher “Kit” Marlowe.)
At UNC, she wrote an award-winning paper about the show’s trivia answers, titled "What Is Difficulty?: Estimating the Difficulty of Fact-Finding Questions Using the ‘Jeopardy!’ Archive.”
She examined the text of more than 22,000 clues’ words, length, syntax and whether they linked to audiovisual materials and fed that information to a machine-learning tool to determine the difficulty of answers and questions.

After this commercial word, look who's back? Hint: Todd Newton's not in the picture. That's.......when Game Show Live returns.

Me: Oww, Thank you Madi2theMax, and I am back. Last week, we showed you the trailer and now.....in this Game Show Live! World Premiere, you are about to cause some............Shanaigans!

Alright enough of that. On to this.

For the first time since Whammy! went off the air in 2003, PYL comes back. For real.

Following one of the biggest nights and most dramatic dates of the season on "The Bachelorette," airing TUESDAY, JUNE 11 (8:00-10:01 p.m. EDT), ABC will give viewers a special early premiere of the iconic game show "Press Your Luck" (10:01-11:00 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network, streaming and on demand. Hosted by Elizabeth Banks, "Press Your Luck" is a game of wits, strategy and even higher stakes as contestants try to avoid the iconic and devilish WHAMMY for a chance at life-changing cash and prizes. "Press Your Luck" will continue with an all-new episode in its regularly scheduled time slot the following night, WEDNESDAY, JUNE 12 (8:00-9:00 p.m. EDT), on ABC.
The scheduling change for "The Bachelorette" followed by the new premiere date of "Press Your Luck" is pending a Game 5 of the NBA Finals, scheduled for Monday, June 10. If there is not a Game 5, both episodes will air Monday, June 10 (8:00-11:00 p.m. EDT).

ITV has commissioned Scottish indie, Bandicoot (part of Argonon Group), to produce a new UK version of the Korean and US smash hit series The Masked Singer, which will air as a stripped event on the Network in 2020.
The Masked Singer is the surreal and surprising, singing game show that's taken the planet by storm. Originally gaining global acclaim as the Korean format The King of Mask Singer, the series was a big hit in Asia, and captivated millions around the globe through viral clips on social media.
In the US, The Masked Singer launched to a multiplatform consolidated audience of 17.6 million, making it Fox's most-watched unscripted debut in 11 years, and the most-watched unscripted debut on any network for 7 years.
Now ITV and Bandicoot are bringing this utterly bonkers and brilliantly noisy phenomenon to British viewers, for an eight-part series airing across consecutive nights in 2020.
Part guessing game and part singing show, this spectacular series will see 12 famous faces compete to pull off the best performance, with their identity elaborately and imaginatively concealed, thanks to an expert team of talented costume designers. The stars will be transformed and they will take on a masked identity and become a fantastic character which will disguise them for the whole series..

Survey says......eh?

Family Feud Canada, which hopes to inject a distinctly Canuck flavor into the long-running game show format, is part of the slate of new programming coming to CBC Television.
The public broadcaster unveiled a host of new and returning shows during CBC's 2019-2020 upfront presentation event in Toronto on Wednesday.
"We're very focused on speaking to contemporary Canada, so ensuring that we are reaching not just a broad audience, but a diverse range of Canadians," said Sally Catto, CBC's head of English television programming.
Programming that appeals to families is a thread running through Wednesday's announcement, including Family Feud Canada.
Since debuting on ABC in 1976, Family Feud has been adapted for 71 international markets, including a French-Canadian version called La guerre des clans.
Catto noted that each market has put its own stamp on the format, which sees two families compete to correctly give the most popular response to survey questions.
"[Family Feud Canada] is an opportunity to reach audiences across the country," she said. "We are talking about Canadian families that are going to be showcased on a very fun and entertaining show with a wonderful Canadian host. So for us, it makes a lot of sense."
Family Feud Canada will be hosted by actor and comedian Gerry Dee, who concluded his CBC sitcom Mr. D in December. "When they asked me to do this, it was a very quick yes," Dee said following the announcement, adding that as host, he would keep true to the comedic style he's developed over two decades of doing stand-up.

He said he agrees with comedian Steve Harvey, who leads the current U.S. version of Family Feud, who has said that the show is a comedy as much as a game show. "It's a great angle to approach it as [as a host]," Dee said. "It's a lot of comedy packed into that 22 minutes."

MTV, a trailblazer in breaking down gender barriers from "The Real World" to "Movie and TV Awards," is set to premiere the first sexually fluid reality dating competition show in the United States.
Hosted by Terrence J., the new season of "Are You The One?" will premiere Wednesday, June 26th at 9:00PM ET/PT. In "Are You The One?'s" signature format, 16 singles head off to Hawaii in hopes of finding their "perfect match" and splitting a $1 million cash prize. For the first time ever, all the singles identify as sexually fluid, meaning there are no gender limitations in perfect matches, and finding love is fair game.
This season introduces Dr. Frankie, a relationship expert who works with the singles to help them become better daters and navigate between drama, poor choices and reoccurring patterns in relationships. Dr. Frankie also helps the singles identify current disaster-dating trends such as ghosting, benching and stashing, and tests them on their willingness to fall into these painful trends.
Host Terrence J. digs deeper with the cast than ever before, helping coach and guide them to tap into their true feelings and follow their hearts.
From coming out moments, to discovering sexual and gender identity, "Are You The One?" tells powerful stories about navigating relationships and finding love as a sexually fluid individual for the first time ever on a reality dating show. .

Meanwhile, across........the pond.

The BBC is climbing The Wall with star Danny Dyer to host the local adaptation of the NBC format.

The British public broadcaster has ordered six episodes from Endemol Shine UK's Remarkable Television and will air it in a Saturday primetime slot. This comes after the BBC piloted the format earlier this year.

The show, which was created by SpringHill Entertainment and Andrew Glassman's Glassman Media in collaboration with Universal Television Alternative Studio, is also currently set for its third season launch in the U.S. on June 20.

The Wall is a quiz that requires both the right answers and the right bounces in order to win a major cash prize. A combination of quiz, luck and strategy set against the background of a highly dramatic and interactive set piece, a pair of teammates must work together to tackle the mammoth wall. The two-person teams related by family, friendship or life experience compete for a cash prize. If a question is answered correctly a green ball falls down the five-story wall, adding the value of the slot to the players' winning total. If it's wrong, a red ball will fall and deduct the value from the team.

Vickie Collier kicks it off.

"We really enjoy the new America Says and Common Knowledge. We play the drinking game (usually iced tea and a Diet Coke)along with Common Knowledge, due to Joey Fatone’s consistent use of “it is!” When the team gets their questions correct. We even find ourselves responding to each other “it is” if it fits!"

Don't you all? Next is Betty Roberts.

"I love game shows! Love the new ones-America Says, Common Knowledge! When I heard about the new one I was glad until I heard who the host was! Not a fan of Sherri Sheppard! I’m hoping on the new show that she will deter from all the sexual innuendos, etc! I will watch & if that’s what she does I’ll just hit the off button!!’ Still thankful for Price is Right, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, Lets Make a Deal! Good clean FAMILY shows!!!!!!"

Most Ice cream trucks are associated with this jingle's company that was founded in Philadelphia in 1956.

Think about that for one second after this Google Play music interlude because Robyn Cage goes back to the 1980's. Again. This time a song that was previously covered by Marilyn Manson.

This summer marks the beginning of game show revival season. But we at Game Show Live! take one game show and asked itself.....

https://youtu.be/frexC6bBUjo

If it went Primetime.........

If Now You See It went prime time......

It would follow the rules of the first 1974 format, not the shortened one. The winner of the first half would play the second half, but the runner up team would go under 1989 rules in the second half. The winner of the qualifying game plays against the winner of  the first half in the 1989 championship round played like it was. The top winner would get $5000 and would play the solo game for a progressive jackpot at $50,000. And have CBS do it. Because they did. That's what would happen it if went Primetime.......

That's it for this week. Today's consolation prize is a Captain America shield......you know.....to whack burglars off.
