Alex Trebek brought the audience to their feet — and Jon Hamm almost to tears — when he took to the stage at the 2019 NHL Awards on Wednesday night.
The annual event honoring the league’s best regular-season performances was one of the  “Jeopardy!” host and longtime hockey fan’s few public appearances since announcing his Stage 4 pancreatic cancer diagnosis.

“Thank you Jon, thank you Las Vegas, and thanks to the hockey world for all your support. Growing up in Canada, you realize very early on that hockey is in your DNA,” the Ontario native said, as he recalled how his favorite player of all time, Gordie Howe, had once won the Hart Memorial Trophy.
Trebek, 78, went on to present this year’s trophy for the league MVP to Tampa Bay Lightening right winger Nikita Kucherov.

Gordon Ramsay is taking food as far as it can go in National Geographic's new series Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted, premiering Sunday, July 21, at 10/9c. The multi-Michelin-star chef and Ironman athlete embarks on a new exhilarating adventure around the globe.
From Peru, Laos and Morocco to Hawaii, Alaska and New Zealand, Ramsay will be roaring through valleys, diving into oceans, hiking through forests and scaling mountains in his relentless pursuit of culinary inspiration. Food and adventure programming is familiar ground for Ramsay, whose 2010 U.K. series for Channel 4, "Gordon's Great Escapes," saw the venerable chef explore the food culture of India and Southeast Asia.
Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted follows Ramsay as he meets with indigenous people around the globe to learn about the cultures, dishes and flavors unique to each location. Every ingredient he harvests and dish he tastes will inspire a new recipe from scratch, created to represent the heart of that culture. Each episode concludes with Ramsay challenging himself with a local food legend by his side - putting his newfound skills to the test as they cook a feast together for the natives. For Ramsay, food is the gateway to culture, and every adventure is a portal into the soul of the people and place.
"It's been an amazing journey traveling off the beaten path with National Geographic and connecting with locals to learn and share incredible stories of unique traditions, delicacies and the extreme lengths it takes to harvest native ingredients," said Ramsay. "I've learned way more filming this series than I have in the last 10 years."
Among the adventures - culinary and otherwise - that Ramsay will take in the premiere season include:
· Trekking through a dense jungle in Laos to sample weaver ant eggs and diving through dangerous waters on the hunt for snails and giant water bugs
· Hunting for eels with his bare hands using traditional Maori techniques with a local fisherman by his side in New Zealand
· Working with local foragers to harvest Maui's deadliest catch with homemade tools and spearfishing with legendary free diver Kimi Werner in Hawaii
· Climbing a sheer rock face during a snowstorm with a local forager to harvest native herbs in Alaska
· Rappelling down a raging waterfall to meet with local mushroom hunters in Morocco
· Hanging off a cliff in pursuit of cactus worms - a delicacy in Peru
The series will also air globally in 172 countries and 43 languages. Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted is produced by Studio Ramsay. Additional episodes of the series have already been ordered ahead of the summer premiere, with production set to resume this fall.

James Holzhauer, the Jeopardy! champion who dominated an incredible 32 games and won $2,462,216, donated to a Naperville, Ill. pancreatic cancer walk in Alex Trebek's name. Trebek, who broke the news of his illness in March while filming the same season Holzhauer appeared in, is currently battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
During what would be Holzhauer's final episode, Trebek thanked Holzhauer's daughter for a handmade card. "I want to express my thanks to your beautiful little daughter, Natasha, for having made this get well card for me," Trebek said. "That was very sweet of her."
Meanwhile, Ann Zediker had become a fan of Holzhauer — both are from Naperville — and started to follow him on social media. However, it wasn't until his final game that Zediker was inspired to reach out, according to the Chicago Tribune.
After hearing about the get well card, Zediker emailed Holzhauer and asked him if he would be interested in participating in the 2019 Naperville Pancreatic Cancer Reach Walk on July 14.
"My gut told me it was the right thing to do," said Zediker, whose father lost his life to pancreatic cancer in 2010, just five months after being diagnosed. "It couldn't hurt."
Holzhauer, who isn't going to be in Naperville for the walk, donated $1,109.14, representing the birthday of his daughter, Natasha, who made Trebek the card. On the donation website, he wrote, "For Alex Trebek and all the other survivors."
In May, Trebek revealed that he was responding well to treatment and is in "near remission" — something that, in the past, has often been unheard of when it came to pancreatic cancer.

NBC’s songwriting competition “Songland” has only been on the air since May 28, and it’s already churned out several singles that have ranked high on the iTunes charts.
Tuesday night’s episode yielded a new single for the Jonas Brothers, and by Wednesday morning, “Greenlight” had already risen to No. 2 on the iTunes Overall Chart as well as the Pop Chart. “Greenlight” would have been No. 1 if not for Taylor Swift’s “You Need to Calm Down.”
“Greenlight” was written by songwriter Able Heart, whose dreams of becoming an Olympic skateboarder were dashed due to a back injury at 15. On Tuesday’s episode, the JoBros chose Heart’s “Greenlight” as the winner, and their version of the song was released as a “Songland” single Tuesday. Watch Able Heart perform “Greenlight” on last night’s episode below.
Past episodes of “Songland” have also yielded chart-toppers for John Legend and the Black Eyed Peas. In the premiere May 28 episode, Legend chose “We Need Love” by songwriter Tebby Burrows, which rose to No. 1 on the iTunes R&B charts and No. 6 on the iTunes Overall Chart the day after the episode aired.

My little runway, run run run run, Runway

Bravo's "Project Runway" announces Sebastian Grey the winner after an inspiring fashion showdown in last night's season finale. In addition to winning the title of top designer, Sebastian won the largest cash prize in the show's history, $250,000 furnished by Pilot's FriXion Erasable Gel Ink Pen, a feature in ELLE, his own featured role in a Bluprint digital series, and $50,000 to put toward his own design studio, also courtesy of Bluprint. Sebastian is also the first-ever recipient of the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) one-on-one mentorship, which will help give him all the tools and connections to create, grow, and sustain a business in fashion. Additionally, production for the next season of Bravo's "Project Runway" will commence this summer in New York City.
The high-stakes season concluded with an exclusive runway show for industry insiders and influencers. The final three designers, Hester Sunshine, Garo Sparo, and Sebastian Grey, presented full runway shows of ten looks each in hopes of wowing their mentor, Christian Siriano, along with the judging panel: Karlie Kloss, Nina Garcia, Brandon Maxwell, Elaine Welteroth, and guest judge Diane Von Furstenberg. With a collection titled "Reminiscence" inspired by his life in Colombia, Sebastian dazzled the audience with his precision and creativity and was crowned winner.

'Memba Ace Young and Diana Degarmo? Well.....

Diana DeGarmo and Ace Young, the real-life couple and American Idolveterans, will star in the national touring production of First Date, the 2013 Broadway musical comedy.
The tour and cast were announced today by producer Fifth Estate Entertainment. The musical, newly updated and with book by Austin Winsberg, and music & lyrics by Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner, will hit the road in Fall, 2020. Matt DiCarlo will direct.
DeGarmo was a Season 3 contestant on Idol, and Young was a finalist on Season 5. Both have since made careers in musical theater – they met in 2010 while appearing in Broadway’s Hair, and married while touring in the 2013 production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Snoop Dogg, the doggfather of rap, will be one of the first guests on Michael Strahan’s new digital series “Close Talker,” set to premiere later this month. Other guests to be featured in the short-form show include Adam Rodriguez (“CSI Miami”), Julie Bowen (“Modern Family”), and Rob Riggle (“21 Jump Street”).
In the four-episode series, Strahan, who hosts ABC’s “The 100K Pyramid,” takes interviewing to an awkwardly close level, getting up close and in the personal space of his guests by talking at an unreasonably close distance.
“I was thinking about something that makes everyone feel uncomfortable, and for me it’s when someone is a close talker,” said Strahan, who filmed the interviews during season 3 of “The 100K Pyramid.” “The point of the series is to show fans how much fun we have backstage when shooting ‘The $100K Pyramid.’ So we’ve turned the cameras back on so we can give people a chance to see for themselves.”
Starting June 21, every Friday a new episode of the series will premiere across Strahan’s Facebook, YouTube, and IGTV profiles, with new updates and episode announcements posting on his Twitter page.
“Let’s just leave it at this,” said Strahan when asked what he had planned for his guests, “Snoop Dogg will be selling a Michael Strahan dental kit, and none of the guests knew what they were getting themselves into when they walked into the ‘Close Talker’ room!”

This past Wednesday, AudreywithMusic did a cover of Tay Swiftie's new song, but a source has told me that our newest clone Booth Fash With Ray decided to follow suit. Alright then, have it your way.

That's all for now, but remember one thing: If Fox already did The Swan, then why is FX doing The Ugly Duckling?

So until next time and all the time.....play on playas.
