 The whatstrending.com Opening Toss-Up story.

Joey Fatone has a new gig — he'll be hosting a new series for the Game Show Network called Common Knowledge.
According to Deadline, each 30-minute episode of the game show will feature two teams of three — friends, co-workers, relatives, etc. — competing against one another. The team members must put their heads together to answer practical questions such as "What should you do when you have a fever? Or how can you tell if a watermelon is ripe?"
The show features three rounds of multiple-choice play. Then, the winning trio will move forward to the bonus round where they will compete for a chance to win $10,000.
Common Knowledge will premiere on the Game Show Network on Monday, January 14. It will be a daily program..

After this commercial word,  Netflix gives you a REAL reason to binge watch.

That's.......when Game Show Live returns.

(fade to break)

Madison: Some members of our viewing audience will receive...

A selection of turkeys from Butterball. And if you need some help with making turkey and if you have an Amazon Alexa, say "Alexa, ask Butterball" and they'll take you to the Turkey Talk Line in an instant with help. Now back to our turkey baster, Pierre Kelly!

Me: Thank you Madi and welcome back. A little later on, we find out why hate speech can kick you off social media.

(song fades out)

I'll take Binge Watching for $400.

Producers Sony Pictures Television are making the most (financially) out of Jeopardy.
Netflix announced Monday that it has acquired 45 library episodes of the Alex Trebek-hosted quiz show, which will be available to stream for the first time on the service starting Tuesday.
The announcement follows an August deal that Sony Pictures TV made with Hulu for 60 episodes of the syndicated game show. That pact, Jeopardy's first streaming deal, included curated episodes including a Tournament of Champions, a College Championship, a Kids Week and some of the show's fan-favorite contestants in its rich history.
Sources say Netflix's 45 episodes are a subset of the 60 that are already available on Hulu, meaning those episodes are now available to stream on both rival platforms.
Both the Hulu and Netflix deals are nonexclusive in the U.S., so Amazon executives, if you're reading this, the pool is open and water is warm should you want to jump in, too..

Free streaming TV site Pluto TV announced the launch of a new channel, Buzzr, featuring classic game shows.
On Buzzr, viewers can play along with iconic game show hosts such as Gene Rayburn and Alex Trebek in a pop culture TV time capsule. The channel features such shows as "Supermarket Sweep," featuring contestants filling their carts with grocery items in an effort to have the highest total at check-out; "Match Game," in which host Rayburn is the ringmaster to a panel of celebrity guests; and "Classic Concentration," hosted by Trebek, in which contestants challenge their memories and ability to solve complex puzzles.
Pluto TV delivers 100-plus live and original channels and thousands of on-demand movies in partnership with major TV networks, movie studios, publishers and digital media companies, according to the company, and is available on all mobile, web and connected TV streaming devices.

Guy Branum's game show about talk shows is no more. Branum revealed on Twitter today that truTV has decided to cancel his series Talk Show the Game Show, which was based on a live show Branum previously hosted in Los Angeles.
Talk Show the Game Show debuted in 2017 and wrapped up its most recent batch of episodes earlier this year. C
ontestants included Maria Bamford, Tiffany Haddish, James Adomian, Nicole Byer, Fortune Feimster, and Scott Adsit, among others.
I'm very sad to say Talk Show The Game Show has been cancelled by @truTV. I'd like to thank them and everyone involved in the show, especially @dropdeadsuit @KarenKilgariff @iamwandasykes and Page Hurwitz for making it possible. It was so much fun. pic.twitter.com/x2A4s4xiSE -Guy Branum

To london for this next story......

The BBC is lining up a new game show from the team behind The Weakest Link and Tipping Point where, unlike the lottery, contestants hope their balls stay in the bag.
The British public broadcaster has commissioned Danger Balls from Mighty Productions, the company behind Rick Edwards-fronted !mpossible.
The game show, where only the last ball left in play at the end wins the big cash prize, features three teams of two who've each been allocated five numbered balls. As the balls are picked from the bag at random the teams must answer questions to eliminate an opponent's ball or save their own. The show also has compelling moments of strategy. Will the players cash in their balls when given the chance or hold out and hope for the big money, even though it could mean leaving with nothing?
Ordered by BBC Commissioning Editor, Entertainment and Daytime Jo Street, the show is being filmed in Glasgow, Scotland between November 14 and 19. Mighty Productions was established by The Weakest Link co-creator Lynn Sutcliffe and Tipping Point creator Hugh Rycroft.
Backed by BBC Studios, the firm produces daytime quiz !mpossible, a game show in which the contestants must avoid giving impossible answers, as well as All4 series The Rage Room and Kate Humble-fronted animal panel show Curious Creatures. The producers will be hoping that it can replicate existing BBC game shows such as Pointless, Letterbox and Eggheads.
Other new efforts include The Time It Takes, the Hat Trick-produced series fronted by comedian Joe Lycett, which is set to be followed by Possessed and 12 Yard-produced Catchpoint, which will be fronted by Paddy McGuinness.

MXC, anyone?

Prepare yourselves, Keshi Heads – Takeshi's Castle is returning to British TV screens. Unfortunately, Craig Charles isn't going to be reprising his narrative duties.
Or Jonathan Ross, for that matter.
Fortunately, Roman Kemp is taking over the role of host. And he'll be on-screen too.
The Capital Breakfast DJ will be joined by different celebrity friends to comment on the hilarious fails contestants go through as they attempt to storm the castle.
Joining Roman one week will be his dad, Spandau Ballet star and original EastEnders bad boy Martin Kemp. Love Island's Chris Hughes, I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! winner Georgia 'Toff' Toffolo, TOWIE favourites Georgia Kousoulou and Tommy Mallett among others will feature. His Capital co-host and Strictly Come Dancing star Vick Hope will also be joining him for an episode.
Comedy Central's Vice President and General Manager Louise Holmes said: "We're so excited to welcome Roman Kemp to the Comedy Central family as he takes the hosting reins for a brand new series of Takeshi's Castle.

Things at HQ trivia will change.....forever.

That's because HQ could use another win.
The company behind HQ Trivia, the once-viral game-show app created by the same guys who invented Vine, is facing a pivotal moment. HQ is preparing to launch a new game show, one that it hopes will legitimize its place as a rising player in the world of mobile entertainment. But it's also dealing with some serious issues, including a declining audience for HQ Trivia and the aftermath of a dramatic change of CEOs.
Publicly, it's clear that HQ Trivia's viral ride is over. The app, where users can win cash prizes for correctly answering trivia questions presented live by a wacky host, captured the internet's attention late last year. Some saw it as the future of media, and HQ Trivia spent much of January and February in the Top 10 list of most-downloaded free iPhone games. It's now fluctuating between No. 250 and No. 500 on that list in the U.S. The audiences it pulls for its trivia shows, while still in the hundreds of thousands, are a fraction of what they were earlier this year.
Privately, HQ is going through different growing pains. The company recently forced out its CEO, replacing one co-founder with another following a contentious boardroom battle between the two, Recode has learned.
Adding to the drama is the fact that an HQ employee filed a formal complaint to HR in August against new CEO Colin Kroll for his aggressive management style, according to multiple sources. The alleged behavior was not sexual, these sources said, but was elevated to HQ's board of directors.

Now we move on to......

Buzz-GSN where we ask you guys on the GSN facebook page everything and anything. We start with a 2-part comment from Charlotte Box Lloyd. Here's Part 1.

"I wish they would put Idiotest on earlier. I get tired staying up until midnight to watch it. Why not put in one of the hours Family Feud takes up?"

Why not? But here's part 2.

"While at it, why not put Winsanity and Divided on earlier, too? Two shows that could take another hour of Family Feud."

That too. We go to Kevin Urban.

"If you're going to play reruns of Family Feud 20 hours a day, would you mind airing some with the original (and best) host, Richard Dawson??"

Dawson's actually on Buzzr, so GSN demands a lot of Harvey and not any other host prior to it. We go now to Barbara Areanas.

"Come on you guys; you really don't see anything wrong with four (4) hours straight of Family Feud???????"

Actually, there's nothing wrong with your TV set. The only thing wrong is the hardcore fans of GSN who whine and complain about the schedule you see on TV. Going now to Susan Julke.

"GSN should be called”The Family Feud Network “ every night that’s all they play ???"

O..................K. Up next is Kathy Strong.

"I love Divided. I wish it could come on earlier where I stay. I live in Lake Charles, Louisiana. It comes on at 3:30 am."

Another night owl who stays up to watch a non-Feud show. I like it. On to Elaine Foote to end the segment.

"We enjoy America Says but we're tired of reruns. Not to mention...we saw four guys on the show a couple of days ago--they were "The Golden Girls"--and today THE SAME FOUR GUYS were on as "The Princess Leias." What's the deal with that? Are we supposed to be so stupid as not to notice?"

Um....Rerun abuse perhaps?

Now to a Gamestop Game Break. Here's a question you never ask a new city mayor for.

Can You.....Sqramble This?

Hint: don't fill your bottle with tap, fill it with this.

We'll fill you some time to think after a Google Play music interlude, because.....Nan-november is back! Our remote Control redhead Christa Nannos returns to serenade the hearts of America with songs....and sometimes parodies.......like this one.

Can I give you the answer? I SAID CAN I GIVE YOU THE ANSWER????????

Alright, here you go.
