 The whatstrending.com Opening Toss-Up story.

Network Ten has commissioned an Australian version of the quiz show Pointless.
Premiering on TEN and WIN Network soon, Pointless will be co-hosted by Dr Andrew Rochford and comedian and writer Mark Humphries and sees three teams of two contestants each compete for a jackpot by finding the most obscure answers they can across a variety of topics.
The show marks the return of Rochford to TEN, while Humphries joins TEN after recently farewelling the SBS show The Feed. The aim of Pointless is to score as few points as possible. The contestants with the highest scores after each round are eliminated.
Dr Andrew Rochford said; "I'm very lucky to be forming a team with a talent like Mark and genuinely excited to be back at TEN but I'm even more excited about the fact my dressing room has a couch and Mark's doesn't."
Mark Humphries said; "Who said Twitter is a waste of time! After an extensive social media campaign (two tweets) TEN had no choice but to give me the dream role as host of Pointless."
Network Ten chief content officer Beverley McGarvey said: "We are delighted to commission such a successful and entertaining game show as Pointless. This is fantastic entertainment for the whole family, as contestants try to find the most pointless answers. "And we are absolutely thrilled to have Andrew and Mark co-host the show. They are smart, funny, and engaging and will make a brilliant duo."
Produced by Endemol Shine Australia for Network Ten, Pointless has been a standout success since its launch in the UK in 2009. It has been adapted internationally for broadcasters in 11 other territories including Germany, France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Italy and Poland.

Six talented chefs enter the summer house to square off in the new primetime culinary series, Ultimate Summer Cook-Off, premiering Sunday, August 5th at 8pm ET/PT on Food Network. Whether it's a chef with a restaurant right on the beach, a seafood master, or a chef from Hawaii, each competitor has their own connection to the summer season and their culinary reputations at stake. Host Eddie Jackson challenges the chefs over four episodes, as each competitor must take on two rounds of summer culinary heats that test their skill and creativity. The chef who wins the first challenge in each episode will receive a key advantage during round two, gaining access to a special cooler with high-end ingredients that no other competitor can use, before presenting their creations to a panel of expert judges. Southern and Hungry's Damaris Phillips and Let's Eat's Jamika Pessoa are joined by a roster of special guest judges each week, including Comfort Food Tour's Mark Anderson and Ryan Fey, BBQ blogger Susie Bulloch, Comfort Nation's Lazarus Lynch, Genius Kitchen's Courtney Rada and pitmaster Cameron Treu, to determine which chef exemplifies what summer is all about with their dishes and earns the $25,000 grand prize.
"Summer is synonymous with spending time with family and friends, while gathering around the grill to dig in to some finger-licking BBQ," said Courtney White, General Manager and Executive Vice President, Programming, Food Network and HGTV. "Eddie Jackson is the perfect host to challenge these six chefs in taking their culinary bona fides and placing them on the line, while creating summer dishes that are fun and exhilarating for a chance at walking away with $25,000."

And that last photo you just saw brought in 2 generations of game show hosts blended as one. Because not only that, they also got 2 dates for an encore and here they are:

With it, anyone who wants to sign up to be a contestant can win this:

Now to this story:

In the brutal cold of the unforgiving Pacific Northwest wilderness, nine modern-day warriors take on a relentless, 24-day survival challenge based on the ancient laws of the Ninja. In Discovery's all-new series ULTIMATE NINJA CHALLENGE, eight grueling missions created by Jinichi Kawakami, the last known Ninja, will push each warrior's body, mind, and spirit to their breaking points. Those who complete the entire survival challenge will receive a final lesson from the master himself in Iga City, Japan, the legendary home of the Ninja - and prove that they can endure the Ultimate Ninja Challenge. The all-new series premieres Sunday, August 5 at 10pm ET/PT on Discovery Channel.
Following in the footsteps of the ancient order, nine individuals each living their own interpretation of the life of a "warrior" will use their unique skills to attempt to survive challenges based on the sacred Kuji principles of the Ninja. These male and female warriors range from martial arts experts, a world-class survivalist, a UFC fighter, a veteran fireman and former military who all want to prove to themselves that they can endure any hardship when they take on the Ultimate Ninja Challenge.
With limited food and water, the warriors endure harsh conditions and challenges that include trekking through a frigid swamp, surviving overnight on an icy glacier, crossing a raging river, escaping imprisonment, and more, all while enduring sleep deprivation and debilitating hunger. Failure to complete any mission will force them to leave the challenge, and only those with the strongest stamina and willpower will make it to Japan for the final challenge. This is not conventional survival - this is the Ultimate Ninja Challenge.
ULTIMATE NINJA CHALLENGE was created by Charlie Foley and developed by Charlie Foley and Vaibhav Bhatt. The series is produced for Discovery Channel by Renegade 83 in association with the Original Content Group. For Renegade 83, David Garfinkle, Jay Renfroe, Stephen Rankin and David Burris are executive producers. For Original Content Group, Charlie Foley and Vaibhav Bhatt are executive producers. For Discovery Channel, Joseph Boyle and Michael Gara serve as executive producers and Jessica Mollo is associate producer.

Catch this:

BBC One has signed Paddy McGuinness to present brand new Saturday night gameshow 'Catchpoint', which requires both brains and balls.
The format, co-produced by ITV Studios labels Possessed and 12 Yard, has a simple premise: don't drop the ball.
At the back of the studio is the 'Catch Zone', where ten large screens display possible answers to a quiz question. Above all ten screens are trapdoors, containing balls of various sizes. Contestants have to run to their preferred answer and hit a button to release the ball, which they must catch. However, only the door above the correct answer will open, sending its ball plummeting to the ground. If they're standing in the right place, catching it should be easy - but get it wrong and they'll have to rely on quick reflexes not to let the ball drop.
A variety of rounds will lead up to an exciting finale, when a cash prize will be up for grabs.
"I'm thrilled to be hosting Catchpoint," said Paddy. "It's always exciting being part of a new show, especially one that involves so many fun elements.
"I can't wait to get started! Now where did I put those cricket gloves?"
The Beeb has ordered a series of six half-hour episodes of Catchpoint, set to begin later this year..

Now for a segment where grievances are due......

http://www.qwizx.com/gssfx/usa/blockbredring.wav

Buzz-GSN where we ask you guys on the GSN facebook page everything and anything.

Janet Gillman is up first.

"Why is the Cosby show interrupting the game shows?? He shouldn't even be on TV. Please fix this!!! And get different game shows on, can't do Family Feud anymore."

Ummmm.....GSN must've been punished?

Barbara Duro Largrenne goes up next....

"What is going on, I was watching The Chase today July 3,2018 and in the middle of the game show Bill Cosby show cuts in and continues with his TV sitcom. Bill Cosby of all people his show should not be on, he is a disgusting human being. Someone check out GSN. This is the game show channel."

They must've hacked it or something......

Maybe Lisa Morris Case will solve it for us....

"Every day I watch GSN. Every day I see an advertisement saying "America Says" Comes on at 5pm after family feud. Every day family feud is on from 4pm to 10pm. Im so confused. I really wanna see America Says. Birmingham, AL."

It's actually on at 4 central. Check the guide on your remote for it.  John Hazard goes next.

"Wish you had more of a variety of game shows, like price is right, high rollers, jokers wild, the newlywed game (Bob Eurbanks), the dating game, to name a few."

Yes, but it's Eubanks that you spelled it incorrectly.  Chris Mercer is up.

"When are you guys going to bring back Idiotest? Family Feud sucks and you play it for literally 18 hours a day on your channel."

I wished they did. Idiotest was a good show. Diana Hanson will go next.

"Okay. You have a show coming on called "Carolina and friends" not a game show. Put on the old prices right shows on instead. Take off cash cab. Stupid show. Put things on people will watch."

Yep. Give something GSN used to do back in the day. Finally, sandy Mika campbell.

"I love GSN!! I, too, would like to see some classics come back. Supermarket Sweep, Shop til You Drop, Password, Double Dare, and especially Name That Tune! Cash Cab is a keeper and I like the new America Says. I don't agree with the 5 and a half hour stretch of Family Feud during prime time. The show is sometimes a little more adult-oriented. This is the best time to reach all family members, young and old. Thank you for keeping our families entertained!"

You sure do, Sandy.

Now for a Gamestop Game break. Have a look at this Body Language puzzle for you to solve.

Every half year, we report on what GSN did so far in 2018 starting with the Good stuff.

GSN introduced us all to a vintage saturday Night lineup and Cover Story on Sunday. Trish Suhr also became the mistress of the daily draw and that was it. Now to the failures.....and such.

Family feud being put on in the afternoon hours until prime time and Divided and Winsanity getting sent to the late night hours. Grading the papers for you all.......

http://www.qwizx.com/gssfx/usa/st-correct.wav

Papers graded! It's.....

It's a C. It needs lesser Feud and more of America Says if it becomes successful. Also bring Idiotest back for gods sake. And get rid of Caroline & Friends while you're at it.
