Since Press Your Luck isn't on there and I hope it won't next summer, let's talk about this for a second.
Deal or No Deal Island. For many, it's becoming a big money event every week, with millions of dollars at stake. For some, it's another show that's in common with another NBC show called "The Wall." Becoming more high stakes than ever, people would rather see real people than reality TV rejects of the past. Same can't be said for Milionaire. When Jimmy Kimmel took over, it was all-star rather than normal. The last true version was in syndication with Meredith Viera first and then Chris Harrison. All in all, Deal or No Deal Island takes Survivor, the old kids game show Endurance and makes it more than something people would switch to. Everybody thinks it's Deal the other way around. So I have a solution for people who don't want to watch it anymore. May I interest you in this?
Deal or No Deal Australia. Everything the syndicated version had in America with the way the players sit like it was on Jackpot! back in the 80's on the USA network, their own briefcases to predict what's in there for cash without looking and the top prize of $100,000 in Australian money. It's everything DOND should be and what the syndicated version should've been had it kept going. Please search "Deal or No Deal Australia" on Youtube and see why it's the better one than the island one.

What just happened 24 years ago this year?
Fox aired a show entitled "24." The program featured Jack Bauer doing a lot things in 24 hours. Hasn't Jack gotten any sleep just yet? Well, no but each episode does things in real time. And much like Inspector Gadget or Mission: Impossible, Jack goes out and does his job well. Running for 8 seasons and a 9th entitled "Live Another Day," the program kept fans intrigued to its plot twists and how it unfolded as it happened. All in an hour every week.

Here's another comic doing a game show....
Rob Brydon has been confirmed to host new the UK version of Dutch format The Floor, filming this Autumn and set to air on Saturday nights next year on ITV1 and ITVX.
In The Floor, 81 quiz fanatics face off in quiz duels on a giant LED floor divided into 81 equal squares, each representing its own field of knowledge. The goal is to conquer the entire floor and take home a huge cash prize. The rules are simple. A random contestant challenges an adjoining opponent in a quiz duel. They play against each other in the category of the opponent's square. Categories range from 'famous athletes' to 'Hollywood actors' and from ‘iconic buildings’ to 'mammals'. Some questions are visually supported by photographs, others by sound, while other duels focus on open questions, multiple choice, association: the possibilities are endless. The winner of a duel conquers his opponent's square, gaining more ground - the loser leaves the game. The further the game progresses, the more exciting the duels become and the higher the stakes. After ten episodes, who will be the last person standing on The Floor and take home the impressive cash prize?
After being revealed as host by The Sun newspaper, Rob Brydon said: "The Floor is a quiz show like no other – big, bold and bursting with excitement. I’m thrilled to be stepping onto it and guiding the contestants through the competition. Let’s light up the floor!"
Maarten Meijs, CEO at Talpa Studios: “The UK has an unmatched legacy when it comes to quiz shows, setting an incredibly high bar. Having ITV adapt The Floor is a true testament to the format’s strength, originality, and continued international success. We’re extremely proud to enter this prolific quiz market as our 25th territory, and confident that The Floor will resonate with British audiences – especially with the local flair ITV and South Shore are bringing to the show.”
Katie Rawcliffe, Director of Entertainment, Reality & Daytime Commissioning ITV said: “The Floor, with its compelling game play, is an excellent addition to our roster of existing popular quiz shows across ITV and ITVX.” Andrew Mackenzie, CEO at South Shore Production adds: “The Floor is an incredible format, its success around the world is unprecedented and we can’t wait to light it up in the UK.” The Floor will air next year on ITV.

S4C has ordered new gameshow format Y Deis, from Slam Media. Along with the Welsh version for S4C, Irish broadcaster TG4 has also booked an Irish language version. of the show.
The Welsh-language version will be shot first at Enfys Studios, followed closely by the Irish-language version for TG4 called An Deis also filmed at the Cardiff based studios. An English language version will also be filmed for international interest.
During the filming, a multi-camera director from Wales, Geraint Rhys Lewis, will be shadowed by an Irish language director who will gain additional experience in multi-camera studio direction. The production marks a “landmark content partnership between the two broadcasters and marks another significant moment in Celtic media confidence and collaboration.”
At the heart of Y Deis is a unique blend of general knowledge, skill, strategy – and a little bit of luck. Three teams of two go head-to-head across several rounds, building their prize pot through quick thinking and smart play. Only one team makes it to the final, where they face a high-stakes quiz against the clock to claim the Jackpot.
Presented by BBC Radio Wales breakfast host James Williams, Y Deis marks his debut on an entertainment programme for S4C. The Irish version will be produced by Tyrone Productions, who previously brought the ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire’ format to Ireland and will be hosted by journalist and presenter Eibhlín Ní Chonghaile.
The show was created and developed by Slam Media, with creative lead Gavin Cox drawing inspiration from his late father’s career as a fruit machine game designer. The centrepiece of the show is the dice machine.
The die (the “deis”) “plays a pivotal role in shaping the outcome, but without the right answers, no team can rely on luck alone.”
Two special programmes are also being filmed for Christmas, featuring some of S4C’s most familiar faces competing against each other. Y Deis is produced with the support of Media Cymru and the Welsh Government via Creative Wales.

ABC is putting work into finding the next big TV music competition series — and it has turned to a maestro of the genre to test a new format.
The Disney-owned network has set Simon Cowell as a judge on a proof-of-concept taping of Who’s In The Band, a talent search for the next One Direction. He will judge alongside a panel that includes Joe Jonas, Spice Girl Mel B (a frequent Cowell collaborator on America’s Got Talent and beyond), and songwriter Savan Kotecha. Rei Ami, who provided Zoey’s singing voice in Netflix sensation KPop Demon Hunters, is on hosting duties.
Who’s In The Band casting materials suggest it will contain a twist on the well-trodden genre, with singers performing the same song, at the same time, in different colored tubes.
The Who’s In The Band test shoot will take place on October 30 at Eastbrook Studios in London. Sources say the presentation will not air on ABC, and there is no series greenlight. It is believed to be part of the network’s plan to launch a new talent competition.
ABC currently has veteran reality series American Idol — which made Cowell a household name in the US with its original incarnation on Fox — returning for a new season in early 2026.
Who’s In The Band hails from Yes Yes Media, the London and LA-based production company founded by Richard Bacon, the former television presenter turned format guru. The network declined to comment.
