The Talking Through The Medias opening toss up story.
Pop Culture Jeopardy! has a new home.
The spinoff of the iconic game show is making a surprise move from Amazon to Netflix for its second season. The series comes from Sony Pictures Television’s Game Show Division.
It is an extremely rare move in the world of entertainment formats.
The move comes as Amazon is figuring out its unscripted strategy. The streamer has a new global head of television in former Netflix exec Peter Friedlander, who will likely want to put his own stamp on things. Lauren Anderson, who currently oversees unscripted, has been increasingly focusing on the advertising side of the business as Head of Brand & Content Innovation at Amazon MGM Studios and Prime Video, while the unscripted studio, MGM Alternative TV, was recently moved under the division that Friedlander now oversees.
Meanwhile, a number of Amazon unscripted execs have moved over to Netflix over the last year including its head of unscripted series Jenny Falkoff and head of docuseries Alysia Russo.
Pop Culture Jeopardy! is a new twist on the classic show that originally started in 1964 and features three contestants trying to be experts in categories such as alternative rock, the Avengers, MMA, Broadway, Gen Z and Zendaya. Contestants, playing in teams of three, will compete in a tournament-style event for the grand prize and ultimate bragging rights.
It launched on Amazon as part of a game show block – Winning Wednesdays – that also featured the Travis Kelce-hosted Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity?, JB Smoove-fronted Buy It Now and Wish List Games. The status of these titles is currently unclear but it’s no surprise to say that Kelce is busy with the Kansas City Chiefs and an upcoming wedding to Taylor Swift so may not be returning to the studio any time soon.
Michael Davies, who serves as showrunner of Jeopardy!, exec produces Pop Culture Jeopardy!. The show will premiere its second season on Netflix in 2026.

Before we go on, I wondered if Dave and Busters wanted a game show. Hmmm......I wonder......I know! Here's why:
I mean, that be cool over whatever's on TV and all that and if all that is according to plan, The UK would have it with Greg James, Ireland with Sinead Kennedy and Australia with Clint Stanaway. But what do you think?

We give you more of the squid games in a newer season. Please use #GameShowLive on social media to spread the word and kill the negativity to us, please, would you? At the end of the program, I'll give you the contacts to buzz me but whatever you shall do or whatever you don't do, sit tight. Amy: Some members of our viewing audience will receive......
Trolli. If you like candy, get trolli. They got gummi worms, sour gummi worms and gummi bears but not worms. Find it at a store today. Now let's worm back with Pierre Kelly!
Me: I thank you Miss Amy and have a look at this snap.
It seems that Doireann Garrihy just gave birth to Rosie after a month away from Irish radio. I hope she will return soon. As far as her band The Irish setters is concerned. They'll continue to perform lightly in spite of that announcement and here's one of the songs.
By then, Cable and network syndication would get rerun rights just like Star Trek when it got cancelled. It wasn't until 1987 when Star Trek: TNG welcomed Trekkies in a revivial to the newest Star TRek franchise entry. If 207 turns out to be true then that will be the last of it. Pretty soon, Peacock will make a drama set in a supermarket in Cincinnati.
They are playing for themselves, not for friendship!
That’s the message shared in the newest trailer for season two of Squid Game: The Challenge on Netflix.
Returning Nov. 4, the game will feature 456 new contestants who will enter the “ultimate test of strategy, alliances, and endurance as they compete for a life-changing $4.56 million prize.”
The game is inspired by the streamer’s uber-successful drama series.
The trailer is promising bigger twists, savage competition and never-before-seen games for season 2.
Like the drama series, players face elimination at every turn. The new season will feature nine episodes.
Executive Producers are Nicola Brown (The Garden), Tim Harcourt (Studio Lambert), John Hay (The Garden), Anna Kidd, Stephen Lambert (Studio Lambert), Nick Walker, Nia Yemoh (Studio Lambert), and Stephen Yemoh (Studio Lambert).

Vice Studios (“Gangs of London”) and V10 Entertainment, which owns “America’s Funniest Home Videos” producer Vin DiBona Prods., have come up with a new twist to the age-old TV video clip format. V10 and Vice are behind a new hybrid clip/competition series dubbed “Clip Bait.” The show pits online videos opposite each other in a tournament, as each clip is judged by a panel of content creators. The “ultimate viral champion” will then be chosen in a “live, interactive finale.”
“‘Clip Bait’ is what happens when viral videos stop being watched and start getting judged,” said Vice Studios head of non-scripted development Joe Ingham. “This big, beautiful, bonkers format is part banter, part treasure hunt, and totally participatory. We’ve turned the infinite scroll into a full contact sport, and we cannot wait to unleash it onto a screen near you very soon.”
Ingham will exec produce the series for Vice Studios, while John Stevens and Rick de Oliveira are exec pdoducers for V10 Entertainment. Global rights to the series are currently being shopped at the Mipcom international television market.
“’Clip Bait’ reimagines the clip series and reality competition formats with immediacy and energy to reflect today’s viral video audiences,” said de Oliveira said. “Our partnership with Vice will deliver a high-stakes competition that seamlessly taps into the way audiences watch, share, and connect.”

Channel 7 is doubling down on game shows for 2026, jumping on a growing trend across the TV industry as audiences start to tune out from dating and social experiment reality series.
The network has locked in Talpa Studios’ new format Caught in the Middle, which will make its Australian debut next year. The local version will be produced by Eureka Productions (a Fremantle company) in partnership with Talpa Studios.
The show, created by John de Mol’s Talpa Studios, puts two contestants at the heart of a massive LED arena surrounded by one hundred opponents. Over the course of fifteen questions, the central duo must find a way to stay ahead — knocking out rivals before anyone reaches the middle and takes the €50,000 ($58,065) jackpot.
While the concept sounds deceptively simple, Seven and Talpa are keeping several gameplay twists under wraps for now, hinting that more details will drop closer to launch.
According to Talpa Studios, filming will take place at the company’s international production hub, with Seven confirming its broadcast plans as 2026 approaches.
Channel Seven is expected to officially confirm the commission at its upcoming Upfronts event next week.

VS School the Ultimate Hide and Seek, a game-show format from Fuji Television Network, has been optioned in Denmark by Fremantle’s Strong Productions.
The format is based on a segment from Fuji TV’s weekly variety show New Key.
Ryuji Komiya, head of international distribution (unscripted formats), said: “Since the launch of VS School in 2023 in the global market, we have received considerable positive feedback on this format. The format offers a creative, television-oriented adaptation of the widely recognized game ‘hide-and-seek,’ highlighting collaborative teamwork among participants. We look forward to collaborating with Strong Productions and anticipate the innovative contributions they will bring to this format.”
Sune Roland, CEO at Strong Productions, added: We are always focused on finding original formats that can be adapted for our local market. VS School the Ultimate Hide and Seek is an excellent example of a show that has performed well locally already but includes all the right ingredients to work in other markets too. Apart from standing out visually in the storytelling, the celebrity twist combined with an event feel makes us believe that there is a lot of potential for this show in Denmark. We are very excited about teaming up with the amazing team at Fuji TV to make this irresistible for a Danish channel.”
