Smart Money

COLUMBUS, Ohio — At just 24 years old, Mackenzie Hart has already proven she knows how to turn an opportunity into something impactful.

Last year, she was sitting in the audience of “The Price Is Right” with her father, hoping he'd be the one called to "Come on down!"

Instead, it was Mackenzie.

Competitive, focused and ready to go, she played her way into an unforgettable win.

"I couldn't believe it," Mackenzie said. "This show has been on for more than 50 years. My dad grew up watching it, and suddenly there I was winning a car, a boat and a trip to Costa Rica."

But instead of parking a shiny new boat in her driveway or figuring out what to do with a second car, Mackenzie made a bold choice. She took the cash value of her prizes and invested in an idea she says came straight from real-life need.

A friend with three kids once called Mackenzie in a panic. He told her he couldn't miss work and needed childcare at the last minute.

Mackenzie, a longtime babysitter and nanny, couldn't help that day. But it sparked a thought: Why isn't there an app for that?

That idea has now grown into a nationwide app set to launch in October that connects families with trusted, background-checked caregivers for children, pets and seniors on demand.

"Think Uber but for child, pet, and senior care," Mackenzie explained. "You can book weeks in advance or at the very last minute. Parents, pet owners and even adult children caring for seniors will be able to find reliable help when they need it most."

The app is called SOSitter. The name includes the international code signal for an urgent appeal for help, SOS, which is exactly what she wants to provide — on-demand help.

Service providers will be vetted through background checks, and Mackenzie plans to recruit caregivers through schools, colleges and social media. The app will even allow users to geo-track their caregiver en route.

While many young entrepreneurs would be daunted by launching a nationwide tech company as their very first business, Mackenzie says she's relying on something stronger than fear.

"I lean completely on my faith," she said. "Every step of this process has been divinely ordered. From winning on 'The Price Is Right' to finding the right app developer, it's all lined up exactly as it should."

Her first big hurdle is spreading the word and pulling off a community launch party. But Mackenzie's vision goes far beyond just creating a convenient app.

"I want families to find caregivers who feel more like family than just a babysitter or a dog walker," she said. "This is about giving people peace of mind and making sure no one misses out on work, opportunities or urgent appointments because they couldn't find care."

From a TV stage in Hollywood to the streets of Columbus, Mackenzie Hart is proving that with faith, focus and a little game show luck, you really can spin a once-in-a-lifetime moment into a lifelong mission.

She’s now looking for sponsorship partners, investors and caretakers. There is a waitlist option on the app for interested applicants.

SOSitter is holding a free launch party on Sunday, Oct. 19, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

For more information on the app or the launch party, visit the SOSitter website here.

Mop The Floor

Twenty years after Bo Bice was named runner-up on Season 4 of American Idol (the year Carrie Underwood won the show), he’s back on television as a contestant on The Floor. Although the two shows are quite different, Bice told TV Insider he actually felt reminiscent about his time on Idol as he got to know his fellow competitors on The Floor.

“These little squares [on The Floor] become people, and those people become relationships, and those relationships become bonds. Before you know it, you’re friends with people and you forget a little bit that this is a competition,” the singer explained. “That’s kind of how I felt at the finale of American Idol, standing next to Carrie. Because we were extremely close, and I don’t know if people know that.”

Bice recalled being “close friends” with the country singer and said they both couldn’t believe what was happening when they made it to the finale. “Even though on The Floor, it wasn’t all eyes on me, it was all eyes on 100 people, it was something that was really cool to have that element of kinship with the other people,” he added.

And now we go from Amy Adams and Scooter Girl on "The Floor" somewhere to a segment that has these qualifications:

Someone who can stream for more than one year of his or her own time, can be of some certain variety or within the realm outside of video games (i.e. Artwork, Music), viewership numbers on averages and the category most important: Play Jackbox games if necesssary. Please help me introduce you all to.................

This month's recipient: sixandtwothirds. on weekends, he does a retro VG edutainment series entitled Outside the Lens and on Sundays, he does a show with his brother entitled TheBroDown. For every gaming stream, his head fits inside an imaginary video game copy box that matches the console he's streaming every week. And here's why he's doing it.

So for a little retro fun and nonsense, head over to :

So, sixandtwothirds, drop the calculator, because...................

The Price Is Right is honoring those who have fought breast cancer and those who are currently fighting through it on a special episode. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and the game show dedicates an episode to the disease every season.

The episode will air on Tuesday, October 7, at 11 am EST on CBS. Contestants share their stories of survival and play games such as Lucky Seven, Gridlock, and The Grand Game. Those games have the players aiming to win cars, exotic trips, including Costa Rica, the French Riviera, and the Hamptons, and a chance to win up to $20,000.

Host Drew Carey started off the episode with “Welcome, everybody, to a very special show. October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. So, with that, the whole audience is breast cancer fighters, survivors, and supporters.”

“They’re all going to share their stories. We hope we have as many winners as possible today,” he said. The crowd was filled with women wearing pink, the color that represents breast cancer. They all cheered and supported one another. The models, Carey, and announcer George Gray even wore pink to support breast cancer fighters.

One thing about Alex Guarnaschelli is she does not like to lose. The Iron Chef also enjoys intense competition, so expect plenty of drama in Season 5 of Alex vs. America, which returns Tuesday, October 7 on Food Network. Alongside her is fellow chef Eric Adjepong who will be bringing out another crop of top chefs trying to take down Alex. Each themed episode features some of the toughest in the game trying to dethrone Alex in two cooking rounds where the survivor earns bragging rights and $15,000.

Guarnaschelli will have to have her knives and skills sharp with the table not set in her favor right out of the gates. During the October 7 premiere it’s “Alex vs. Tournament of Champions” where she’ll take on close friends and colleagues Antonia Lofaso, Tiffani Faison and Mei Lin. Adding to the drama is a blind tasting with judges Cat Cora and Susan Feniger deciding “if these conquerors of the randomizer will be the first to knock Alex out of the competition.”

Alright time to play a little What if? Somebody sent this in.

Here's what the predictions go as follows. First......

They all look good for movies but i think Stargate Rogue one and New Horizons could be the favorite amongst the 4. There is more.........

I think they look nice for a tv reboot and considering what i've just seen, the MCU and DCEU seem to have put themselves into a corner and throw pixy stix at the movie theater and streaming crowds. With the imaginary Stargate universe, it'll give more money than any DCEU and MCU show. What do you guys think?

And let's end with a horror story.

Closing Theme

#TodayILearned that  Bo Bice is making a comeback. Really.

Please be kind, be great and stay smart the next time you hear this sound.........
