Let's talk for a bit about 2 shows that start with the letter M as in Minesweeper.

Summer game shows "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" and "Match Game" returned strong for new seasons on Wednesday, July 23, as the No. 1 and No. 2 shows of the night, respectively, among Total Viewers, both rising to multi-year highs and surging ahead of the previous season averages to deliver a juggernaut Wednesday for ABC, lifting the network to the top of Wednesday prime.

"Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" (8 p.m. ET/PT)
· The Emmy(R) Award-nominated "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" (Outstanding Game Show and Outstanding Host for a Game Show for Jimmy Kimmel) returned for a new season as the No. 1 telecast of the night among Total Viewers (4.24 million), earning its most-watched telecast in over four years (since 1/31/21) and leading its unscripted competition on CBS, "Big Brother," by double digits (+45%; vs. 2.93 million).
· The premiere episode, featuring Drew Carey, Aisha Tyler, Matt Damon and Ken Jennings, soared ahead of last season's average (+27%; vs. 3.33 million).
· "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" scored its best Adults 18-49 rating (0.38 rating - tied) since last summer's premiere - since 7/10/24.
· The "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" premiere stands as ABC's top entertainment telecast in Total Viewers (4.24 million) this summer to date.

"Match Game" (9 p.m. ET/PT)
· Martin Short took the helm for a new season of "Match Game," with the show becoming the No. 2 program of the night in Total Viewers (3.30 million), behind "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire."
· The season debut marked its most-watched telecast (3.30 million) in five years (since 6/28/20), topping its most recent premiere by +13% (vs. 2.93 million on 5/31/20).
· The premiere also delivered its best performance among Adults 18-49 (0.37 rating) since 10/29/20.
· Featuring celebrity guests Kevin Nealon, Selena Gomez, BD Wong, Anthony Anderson, Cara Delevingne and Ziwe, the season six premiere rose solidly above the previous season average in Total Viewers (+19%; vs. 2.77 million).

On next week's "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" airing Wednesday, July 30, at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC and streaming next day on Hulu, Matt Damon and Ken Jennings continue their suspenseful round from last week - going for the million; and later, "The Daily Show" duo Jordan Klepper and Ronny Chieng put their knowledge to the test. Immediately following at 9 p.m., things get wildly BLANK with Martin Short on a brand-new episode of "Match Game" as contestants and celebrities Caroline Rhea, Jay Pharoah, Ana Gasteyer, Phoebe Robinson, Randall Park and Constance Zimmer play to win $25,000

The BBC will air the new series of MasterChef featuring Gregg Wallace and John Torode.

The future of the season had been in doubt after Wallace and Torode were both fired from the show following a report commissioned by MasterChef producer Banijay. Today, the BBC said that “after careful consideration and consultation with the contestants” it will air MasterChef Season 21 on both BBC One linear and BBC iPlayer.

“This has not been an easy decision in the circumstances and we appreciate not everyone will agree with it,” said a BBC spokesperson, appearing to anticipate backlash. “In showing the series, which was filmed last year, it in no way diminishes our view of the seriousness of the upheld findings against both presenters. We have been very clear on the standards of behaviour that we expect of those who work at the BBC or on shows made for the BBC.”

The spokesperson said the show will launch August 6. No decision has been made on the latest celebrity version, which is also in the can, and on the Christmas special, both of which feature the presenters as well.

Wallace’s position became “untenable” following a report that substantiated 45 allegations made against him after a BBC News expose into his behavior across a lengthy period on the show. During the research phase of that report, allegations were also made against Torode, one of which of racial language was substantiated by the independent law firm conducting the review. Media reports later alleged that Torode had used the n-word. Wallace has apologized for distress caused but said “none of the serious allegations against me were upheld.”

Torode has apologized but says he can’t recall the incident and “I do not believe that it happened.”

NBC's four-time Emmy Award-winning musical competition series "The Voice" returns with an iconic coaching panel as fan-favorites Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Adam Levine reclaim their red chairs for season 29, airing spring 2026.

A "Voice" first, the upcoming spring cycle will be dubbed "The Voice: Battle of Champions," marking a major revamp to the longstanding format and nodding to the powerhouse coaches who form the only panel in the show's history comprised entirely of "Voice" winners.

As Season 29 will coincide with NBC Sports' "Legendary February," the landmark season will be infused with fast-paced, competitive elements inspired by both, delivering a fresh twist on the format that raises the stakes for coaches and artists alike. "Legendary February" refers to February 2026, when NBC Sports will present three of the biggest events in sports in one month - Super Bowl LX, the Milan Cortina Olympic Winter Games, and the NBA All-Star Game. Key updates to the format include the following:

Four rounds, each featuring a distinct "Voice" first:
· Blinds: Coaches compete against each other in the "Triple Turn Competition" (vying for the most three-chair turns) with the winner gaining a special advantage in the next round.
· Battles: The coach with the most three-chair turns automatically earns a "Super Steal" for the Battles. This coveted prize can only be used once and trumps any other coach's attempt to steal, guaranteeing a win.
· Knockouts: Each coach brings back two fan-favorite artists from their teams in previous seasons to compete in an "In-Season All-Star Competition." All-stars represent their former coaches as they battle in head-to-head sing-offs. The coach with the most sing-off wins is guaranteed a second finalist in the finale. For this special episode, coaches call upon original Voice coach CeeLo Green to sit in on the competition and determine the winner of each All-Star Showdown.
· Semi-Final and Finale Week: Kicks off with a Top 9 Semi-final and culminates in the Top 4 Finale. For the first time in show history, a new voting block comprised of super fans and past "Voice" artists will have the opportunity to get in on the fun firsthand, experiencing the competition as part of the in-studio audience voting for their favorites in real time during the semi-finals and finale.

Coaches enter the competition with 10 artists per team, raising the stakes higher than ever in this season's Blind Auditions.

NBC recently announced Michael Bublé, Snoop Dogg, Niall Horan, and Reba McEntire as coaches for season 28, coming this Fall.

Get ready for a "thrilling" new game show to take over your evenings, as Destination X has officially confirmed its release date.

Hosted by Rob Brydon, the BBC series follows a group of contestants on a mysterious travel adventure across Europe. The contestants must figure out their locations by taking part in challenges to win clues. But will they be able to avoid some pesky misdirects?

According to RadioTimes, the show will kick off on Wednesday 30 July at 9pm, on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Episode two will air the following day (31 July) at the same time.

The official description reads: "Merging fantasy with reality in this larger-than-life adventure competition series, viewers will follow contestants as they embark on the road trip of a lifetime but have no idea where they are. In each episode, the players will guess where they are on the real-life board game, with those furthest from the actual location being eliminated from the competition. Whoever is first to reach 'Destination X' will take home the crown".

The format of the show originated in Belgium and has since received various versions across the globe; including a US series, hosted by Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

Meanwhile, UK host Brydon has expressed his excitement for the upcoming BBC series, describing himself as the "puppet master".

"How could I turn down the opportunity to become the mastermind of Destination X, the thrilling new travel adventure series coming to the BBC next year," he said. "It's a show that turns the whole of Europe into a board game – manipulating the players and the audience at home along the way. I can't wait to be the puppet master orchestrating every twist and turn as our contestants are taken on a journey where everything is not as it seems. It's going to be a wild ride!"

Destination X begins on Wednesday 30 July at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer.

And now the question. Who is the iconic voice behind the Jet2 holidays you hear on commercial radio and not the BBC radio stuff? As far as the Spotify Soundstage is concerned, we were supposed to play some Jess Glynne but because she's the Mariah Carey of summer, we decided to have Kim Trammell on instead. Bang it!

That much better. Oh and please follow her on Instagram at this link:

I'm hoping she may drum to the Chris Moyles theme tune on Radio X. But let's have the correct answer.

SHOW YOURSELF!

If you weren't guessing, it's Zoe Lister, the voice behind the company that  gives her more than a paycheck for that VO gig.
