No words can't describe how the 250th consecutive episode of The Green Room on The Knew Network felt. Miranda Tiffany explains.

This was a HUGE night for all of us as we celebrated this spectacular moment of growth, love, and CONNECTION. The things we have accomplished over these last 5 years, especially in this last year alone, has been remarkable. Connecting with THOUSANDS of people all over the world, 78.5k people to be exact, and thousands of others who watch the show weekly- over 100k views on all recent episodes. Over 151 Hall of Famers and luminaries have joined us and shared their hearts and minds with us. It’s truly been a gift and I am forever grateful for this journey. Thank you all for being a part of it!

Snapper took a pic of this weird......screen shot.

Even Howard Collado said this:

Moments of …
Camaraderie
Passion
Storytelling
Competition
Ensemble
All of these moments captured what unfolded last night as Phil, Justin, Miranda, Giselle, Kelly White, Peaceful Pete, Joe Risitano, and TKN founder Avi Klein took the virtual stage. Laughter, tears, memories, and passion filled the space, reminding us what true connection—with ourselves and with one another—really means. We also took time to reflect on the incredible journey that has been the Celebrity Tournament so far. To really step back and take in the enormity of 250 episodes is beyond words!
Here’s to 100 more unforgettable episodes!!

The Heat is finally off, the timing is wrong and it's time to take the game to the weekend.

Medical instruments, ornithology and medieval music were among the topics fired at contestants in one of France’s most popular television quizzes this week.

Much of the country was, however, pondering another question: why has France Télévisions, the state broadcaster, decided to remove the show from its daily slot, supposedly depriving the nation of a valuable cultural institution?

A national outcry has followed word that the broadcaster is to relegate Questions Pour Un Champion, a general knowledge quiz game imported from the BBC in 1988, to two weekend slots.

After a chorus of public scorn and a petition with nearly 50,000 signatures, a cross-party group of more than 20 MPs has sounded the alarm, telling the boss of France Télévisions that they were appalled at a decision that is likely to kill the contest known originally in Britain as Going for Gold.

The broadcaster says it wants to save money. Though the game show still dominates viewership at its 6.10pm slot, it costs more than rival daytime quizzes, it said.

For critics, though, the Parisian elite is once again axing a middle-brow show that is popular mainly with older viewers in the provinces.

The row is the latest over the disappearance of venerable game shows, a genre that still commands strong loyalty in France. With its focus on culture générale, more prosaically general knowledge in English, Questions Pour Un Champion, is valued for its emphasis on learning.

Play Ball!

The producers behind Last One Laughing UK have located what they hope will be the next big British format.

Banijay labels Initial and Zeppotron are developing a version of Dutch format Let’s Play Ball, which broke out on YouTube with more than 1 million views and will soon launch on SBS6 in the Netherlands.

The format sees two rival teams of comedians go head-to-head in a race to transport a gigantic ball across various terrains. Facing physical puzzles along the way, each episode will see the teams navigate varied landscapes, from narrow city streets to rivers and countryside meadows.

Initial and Zeppotron are the first to reimagine Let’s Play Ball outside the Netherlands. The two indies have already demonstrated the chops required to get comedians to do silly things. Adapted from the Japanese format, Prime Video’s Last One Laughing UK was a big hit for the streamer, featuring the likes of Bob Mortimer, Daisy May Cooper and Richard Ayoade. Separate from each other, Initial and Zeppotron also make the likes of Big Brother and Would I Lie to You?.

Initial boss Katy Manley said: “This hilarious new show is the perfect next joint project for us. Initial brings the big red balls (we also make Wipeout), while Zeppotron will unlock its legendary black book to cast the funniest people in the country…. We can’t wait to take this out to buyers in the UK.”

Let’s Play Ball is an original format co-developed and co-owned by EndemolShine Nederland, Talpa Studios and Signal.Stream. The show will make its international debut in the Netherlands this summer, co-produced by EndemolShine Nederland and Signal.Stream. Originally piloted on YouTube via StukTV, the show attracted over 1.2 million views. Banijay Entertainment holds global format distribution rights.

A French gameshow contestant has been dethroned after a record-breaking run of 646 wins that lasted 21 months.

Émilien, 22, made his first appearance on the “12 Coups de midi” daily game show on September 25, 2023, according to a statement from French TV network TF1, which announced the end of his run on Sunday. The network has not revealed his surname.

In the show, four contestants compete in a general knowledge quiz. The winner then answers a series of questions to determine their prize pot for that day, before returning to take on a new slate of opponents the day after.

Émilien won more than 2.5 million euros ($2.93 million) in cash and other prizes, as well as 23 cars, making him the biggest winner in French game show history, said TF1. His haul more than doubled the previous record of one million euros ($1.17 million), held by Bruno Lafourcade of "Que veut gagner des millions? (the French version of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" .

“I never expected to have the chance to stay for such a long time,” said Émilien, who comes from southwest France. “It’s amazing everything that has happened. It’s hard to understand.”

Prior to appearing on the show, Émilien studied history at university and was aiming to become a teacher. He then paused his studies to concentrate on his record-breaking run, which came to an end when he ran out of time to answer a question during Sunday’s show.

Despite his loss to Romain, an architect, Émilien has become the world record holder for the most solo game show appearances, and the European record holder for prizes won, according to TF1.

His run became something of a sensation in France, with his defeat drawing an average of 5 million spectators on Sunday.

TF1’s “12 Coups de midi” has some similarities with popular US quiz show “Jeopardy,” which airs every weekday for 30 minutes.

The record for the highest number of consecutive wins on “Jeopardy” is held by current host Ken Jennings, who won 74 games in a row in 2004, followed by Amy Schneider, who won 40 consecutive games in 2022. Jennings also holds the record for the highest amount of prize money won on “Jeopardy,” at $2,520,700, followed by James Holzhauer on $2,462,216.

Time for a Mistplay Game Break. Give me the name of the TV show I just can't remember. Help me please!

  • It starred a former Price is Right model. Yes, a former Price is Right model.
  • IT ran from 2000-2002 in syndication.
  • Back in the 1950s, it was on TV played by Irish Mcalla.
  • She can morph into any animal.

What's the show? Figure that one out after an Australian artist like Prince or Cher or Dasha have something in common. They have one name and you can add this to the list. it's Nardia.

And is it the correct answer I see on the screen, why yes it is. Roll it Sinema!

IT was....Sheena queen of the jungle. Gena Lee Nolin starred in this 2-season epic show.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We have an email from Elie Muller whose show comes on after we get out the studio and we'll be on next week as long as we're still here after The First 25 with Chris Moyles and a BBC News summary to precede it on RTE America 36.1 Pacific Bay. In this email, he writes.......

Well Elie, the first thing you need to do is to work for local television for approval. Digital television takes people who are locally famous and experienced. Your show is nowhere less than about 20 views, but you need to share your show to libraries, community centres, coffee shops, schools, pizzerias and drug stores where you live. The second thing is that you call the radio stations and ask them about the show you're working on. The last thing is to ask the people on Discord and see what they think of it. Late night TV, especially daytime is tough. Someone with actual experience as a comedian, comic writer or a improv player with many credits can  do a show. My advice: Just keep trying. And with that, being it's almost Christmas in July, here's a classic.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But we have more opinion in the form of a Instagram user. I want you to pay attention because it'll change your mind before this one is over. In it, the user says.......

Then he goes on to say this:

But he also says.....

Let me give you a second opinion on what he said.

You see PYL is the show Elizabeth Banks is getting an Emmy nomination for and Celebrity Family Feud put Steve Harvey in the limelight bring it to ratings gold. But it's all down to one word: Streaming. Look at Fox, they've got reality fare over dramatic appeal to make it a Nick Cannon/Joel McHale appreciation channel. PYL should go back to just 2 regular games to fit an hour and get rid of that Big Bucks Bonanza with the customized prizes while Celebrity Feud gets questions to make it family friendly. It's ABC but why did they get rid of "The Chase?" It was a good show. Jeopardy! in primetime is too much. Super Jeopardy! was cool in 1990, but now it's formats of Jeopardy! that can fit an hour. And don't get me started on when Amazon Prime getting a Jep! revival. PYL is not a dead format, it's becoming classic and ancient. You see it every week, and what makes TV's most competitive game is that the words "Anything can happen" apply to it but Celebrity Family Feud knows it's anybody's team to win. Much like Survivor, The Amazing Race, The Voice and The Masked Singer, the question is, will they finally give up? Only time will tell.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Closing Theme

That's it for this week, today's consolation prize is a goat and a fish. Let's let them shake hands and be friends. Goat Vs. Fish needs to end the rivalry but......
