The Talking Through The Medias opening toss up story.
Boxing champion Laila Ali is stepping into the ring once again, this time to host Food Network's Chef Grudge Match, a single round, winner-take-all culinary battle where elite chefs come to settle long standing disputes and bitter rivalries. From employees who have been wronged by their boss to restaurateurs defending their livelihoods from copycats, competing culinary pros put their favorite knives, and egos, on the line in a bid to put old scores to bed. Each episode features two head-to-head battles where resident judge Jet Tila welcomes a guest judge to help determine who walks out with $10,000 cash, the losing chef's most coveted knife and bragging rights for life. The series premieres Tuesday, August 12 at 9pm ET/PT on Food Network and streams next day on HBO Max.
"I'm thrilled to be joining the Food Network family," said Ali. "As someone who's always been passionate about both competition and delicious food, Chef Grudge Match is the perfect fit. From the ring to the kitchen, I've never shied away from a challenge - and now I get to have fun while bringing that same intensity to a show where culinary rivalries are settled once and for all!"
In the premiere episode, host Laila Ali welcomes Gabe Bertaccini, a Food Network favorite who has been holding a grudge for 15 years against his prodigy, Tyler Romine, who quit Gabe's catering business with only three days' notice. And in the second match, Vail Colorado's Taylor Frankel has a grievance with her former sous chef, Maria Busato, after she opened a rival catering company in the same small town. Across the eight-episode season, battles will be fought over business and recipe rivalries, between students and teachers, and even husband vs. wife, with each match an all-out brawl to settle these grudges once and for all.
Guest judges joining the action across the season include Eric Adjepong, Maneet Chauhan, Adrienne Cheatham, Tiffani Faison, Stephanie Izard, Eddie Jackson, Chris Oh and Claudette Zepeda.
"With reputations and livelihoods on the line, competition in the food world has heightened stakes which have produced legendary grudges and rivalries," said Betsy Ayala, Head of Content, Food, Warner Bros. Discovery. "Chef Grudge Match brings these grievances to a head in front of a studio audience, with all the energy of a live boxing match, and Laila Ali is the perfect ringmaster to oversee these battles for ultimate bragging rights."
The series is considered a revamp of the Darnell Ferguson-hosted "SuperChef Grudge Match" format, which the network liked, with a new talent that they are "excited about and who works for the premise in a very organic way."
The announcement comes on the heels of Ferguson pleading guilty to misdemeanor charges connected with past allegations of domestic violence against his wife on May 13, per Louisville, Kentucky's Courier Journal.
"SuperChef Grudge Match" aired for two seasons from 2023-2024 on Food Network with Ferguson as host.

Let's move on to.....
Mal Glowenke and Mathilde Jourdan have launched their own digital media company and are kicking it off with a short-form game show set in a U-Haul van.
Glowenke, an LGBTQ+ advocate, and Mathilde Jourdan, who has exec produced documentaries including Just Kids and On The Line: The Richard Williams Story, have established Made It Out Media to tell stories of queer women.
It comes on the back on the pair's video podcast Made It Out, which was nominated for Best Video Podcast Series at the Webby Awards in 2024. The pair met on a reality show centered around gay women that was subsequently not picked up.
Made It Out Media is launching with a short-form original series, Out for a Drive. The game show, which is hosted by Rachel Samples, is entirely set inside a U-Haul and is a mix of Cash Cab and Carpool Karaoke. It features lesbian and queer guests in each episode including comedian Robby Hoffman, actor Jonica Booth, creators Victoria Paris and Hina, chef and creator Olivia Tiedemann and comedian Irene Tu.
The series, which will be released bi-weekly on YouTube, launches on June 29.
"The media company was always the goal," said Glowenke. "The podcast has been an amazing jumping-off point, and we are just getting started. Queer people, especially queer women, deserve more spaces where they can be the main character, not the side story. That is the future we are building toward."

NBC is heating up the summer airwaves with its Tuesday night reality competition lineup.
The network's buzzy new show Destination X has joined the primetime window this season with stalwart series America's Got Talent, and they've been putting up an impressive combined performance. In fact, the series recently laid claim to the No. 1 entertainment night of the summer to-date.
After seven days, America's Got Talent is the top entertainment series of the summer in total viewers. It is currently on track to mark its 20th consecutive year as the #1 broadcast summer alternative series among total viewers.
Per NBCUniversal, Season 20 of America's Got Talent has amassed 24M total viewers this summer across NBC and Peacock. Destination X is off to a promising start, too, as NBC's No. 1 alternative series launch on Peacock yet based on 26-day average audience viewing. Across both linear and streaming, the new series has already managed 14M viewers to-date.
In particular, Episode 3 of Destination X saw a 52% increase in viewership in the first seven days, likely thanks in part to the introduction of Love Island USA alum JaNa Craig and The Traitors US' Peter Weber.

Now it's the Mistplay Game Break. I'm going to set the scene of a well known tv show and I need you to remember it, okay?
- It starred Richard Dean Anderson after McGyver
- It was a sci-fi western show from 1995-96
- The main character was Ernest Pratt who was a writer
- It was one of the frist UPN original shows when the network launched in 1995
- It was originally a TV movie before changing it to a series
And the Show I asked you to fix my brain was.................
Simply one word. Legend. Never have I ever seen MacGyver play a cowboy.

Think of it this way. Byron Allen. A man who used to be a stand up comic and later a host of "Real People" at one time decided to host a talk show he produced back in 1990. Remember? These days, you can see his name producing shows in late night syndication. For instance......
He can try courtroom shows like..............
and replacing After Midnight for good is...................
Not only he's the proud owner of The Weather Channel, but some more channels with the .tv thingy on it. But I have to tell you.......how come he decided to pass this up?
I mean Byron needs to produce that but it would take more of a staff to try and produce this program. For now, he needs a home on late night because it's stuck on RTE America 36.1 Pacific Bay just after this show you're watching right now and we'll be right after The First 25 with Chris Moyles and a BBC News summary afterwards.

For Price is right fans, Cover UP is not as easy as you think it is. Not as many people get it right on the first try. The whole idea is to get the first number right if you happen to be a fan of it. This person decided to go down in the Carey era history as a first. It's the subject of................
That's it for this week, today's consolation prize is a doggie bag of curry. I know it's hot, but.....it's milder.
