The game is up and the secret is out – the identity of the banker in Deal or No Deal has been revealed.
Former Coronation Street actor Glenn Hugill has been unmasked as the voice on the other end of the line in the long-running game show, which originally aired on Channel 4.
Speculation has been rife for years, and now it appears to have been confirmed the actor turned producer was the voice on the phone.
Noel Edmonds hosted the game show from 2005 to 2016, and in November 2023 it was revived by ITV with Stephen Mulhern at the helm but the identity of the banker was always a closely-guarded secret.
Richard Osman appeared to give the game away in an interview with Metro in 2015, when he referenced Glenn Hugill saying, “The Banker on Deal or No Deal“.
And now it has been reportedly confirmed by the newspaper that Hugill was indeed the famed financial character.
Although Hugill may have been revealed as the banker in the previous iteration of the show, mystery still remains regarding the identity of the banker on the new ITV version.
Current host Stephen Mulhern would only state that he knows he is male.
He said: “I don’t know who the Banker is, so I wouldn’t be able to recognise who it was – he could walk past me at any point.”
A Live Wheel of Fortune. Oh wait.....
What would a live Jeopardy! episode look like? That’s exactly what executive producer Michael Davies wants to test out.
Davies attended the TV Upfronts in New York City this week and he got into a discussion about wanting to make Jeopardy! truly live one day. In the J-Buzz newsletter, he shared how the game show has been pivoting to live events such as the Inside Jeopardy! Live on Tour shows with co-executive producer Sarah Whitcomb-Foss around the United States.
They want to expand the tour in 2026 and hope to bring more live aspects to Jeopardy!. “One day, we hope (or perhaps rather, I hope) to make a truly live version of Jeopardy! itself, rather than the live-to-tape, prerecorded shows that we produce today,” he wrote.
“And at that point, the evolution of Jeopardy! into a truly modern piece of entertainment will be complete.”
“But I am also reminded this week and reinforced with the conviction and commitment that Jeopardy! will always remain its classic self,” Davies went on. “It will always feature the Jeopardy! Round, Double Jeopardy!, and Final Jeopardy! (plus Triple Jeopardy! on Celebrity Jeopardy!), separated by commercial breaks featuring some of the biggest advertisers and brand names on television.”
Reddit users chimed in on whether or not they would watch the game show if it was live. “I for one really hope this happens! I would love to see a live version of the show and would tune in whenever it aired, the original poster said.
“That would be kind of fun, actually. I get the judging issue, but 45-minute holds are rare,” said another.
However, some fans don’t think a live version would be good. “I’m also failing to see what it adds to the experience for viewers. Are we supposed to appreciate and relish in the occasional mistake or delay?” one fan asked.
NFL legend Michael Strahan appears to have signaled the end of his time hosting the game show 'The $100,000 Pyramid' following his emotional farewell message to the audience.
The Pro Football Hall of Famer has a very busy schedule, co-hosting 'Good Morning America,' appearing on 'FOX NFL Sunday,' and also presenting the popular game show. However, Strahan has recently expressed an interest in buying up to a 10 percent stake in the New York Giants, the team he represented for all 15 seasons he played in the NFL.
While the ownership role could lead to slight complications when it comes to offering analysis on 'FOX NFL Sunday,' Strahan has already shown that he's serious after attending rookie minicamp at the Giants' facility. It's also been suggested that he could step away from 'Good Morning America' after 11 years, but for now, it appears that his days hosting 'The $100,000 Pyramid' are over.
When taping the final episode of season eight this week, Strahan thanked the audience for their continued support over the years. After the recording had ended, Strahan said to those in attendance: "You're appreciated. I love you."
Strahan then added, "I am thankful for season 8. It never gets boring hosting this show. I couldn’t do it without you all, none of us could. So, thank you all so much."
SMAC Productions, who creates the show, is yet to confirm whether the show will return. If it does, it's unclear whether Strahan will assume his role as host or step aside, allowing for another personality to fill the void.
The Chase's very own Jenny Ryan, known as The Vixen, has bagged herself a thrilling new gig away from the popular ITV quiz show.
Having joined the ranks of quizzing legends on The Chase in 2015, thanks to a recommendation from fellow Chaser Anne Hegerty, Jenny is now set to dazzle audiences in a different spotlight.
Joining her on stage will be David Ashley and the recently nominated Best Comic at the UK Pantomime Association Awards, Ben Goffe.
The panto's plot teases an enchanting tale: "When the Wicked Fairy Carabosse's evil curse causes the Princess to prick her finger on a spinning wheel and fall into an enchanted sleep, can anyone rescue her from the magical slumber before it is too late?"
Sleeping Beauty is set to captivate audiences from December 6, 2025, through to January 4, 2026, with tickets already up for grabs, reports Edinburgh Live.
The Wyvern Theatre shared the exciting casting news on Instagram this Wednesday (May 14), posting a vibrant poster featuring the lead performers.
The theatre's post was brimming with excitement: "We're thrilled to announce that The Chase's @jenny_from_the_quiz will star as the wicked fairy Carabosse in our spellbinding family pantomime, Sleeping Beauty alongside Swindon panto royalty David Ashley and comedy actor @bengoffe, back by popular demand! Bring on the fun and laughter! !".

Out Of Order, the comedy entertainment gameshow, is set to return for a third run on Comedy Central later this year, under new production company Bango Studios, TV Zone reports. Filming is due to commence in July.
Hosted by Rosie Jones, Out of Order is a cheeky, riotous comedy gameshow that aims to prove who's the best at judging people. Are you always judging strangers on trains? Scolded by your friends for guessing how much people earn from what they wear? Well polish that judgey eye as Out of Order is the show for you.
In a number of comical rounds, teams will judge 'Rosie's Regulars', a group of extraordinary, unapologetic and loveable members of the great British public, based on revealing categories like 'Who sends the most messages to their mum?', 'Who's had the most one-night stands?' and 'Who's ghosted the most people?'; putting them in order from least to most.
In a twist, the final round will see the roles reversed as one of Rosie's Regulars judges Rosie and the celebrity teams to hopefully win a cash prize. Will they get it right? Or will they be Out of Order?
Out of Order is now a Bango Studios production and returns later this year on Comedy Central.
And now......peep this.
And how's this for a throwback to get you into the weeekend?
Then you know it's time for Livewire! Until next time, play on playas.
