From answering “What is…?” before every question to having to identify multiple items in a category, Jeopardy! player David Madden has found himself on Season 3 of The Floor and fans recognized him right away.
Madden is a former 19-day champion on Jeopardy! and holds the eighth-longest streak in show history, in which he is tied with Jason Zuffranieri. He is only behind all time greats including current host Ken Jennings, Amy Schneider, Matt Amodio, James Holzhauer, Mattea Roach, Cris Pannullo, and Julia Collins.
He first competed on Jeopardy! in 2005, and had a winning streak of 19 total games, with a total of $432, 400. Madden was defeated by Victoria Groce. He then went on to compete in the 2006 Tournament of Champions, but lost the semifinal match. Madden recently returned for the 2024 Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament but failed to win his match and took home an additional $10,000. This brought the contestant’s total earnings to $785,733.33.
Now, the art historian is putting his knowledge to the test once again on another game show. The Floor has 100 people who all come with expert categories. They face off against another person and whoever is left standing when the clock runs out, remains in the game until one person takes over the entire floor.
Season 3, Episode 1 premiered after The Super Bowl LIX ended on Sunday, February 9, and it promised “harder than ever categories.” Host Rob Lowe stood in front of the contestants and shouted out some categories including Marvel, Sports MVPs, and European Geography, which the crowd reacted to in a not-so-positive way.
Madden is the player who is connected to that category and he gave a sinister smile as Lowe called him out.
“You’re sending off intimidating vibes already,” he said.
“The plan is working,” David responded with a raise of his eyebrows.
“I really hope that all of you play aggressively because by the end of the night eight of you will be gone,” Lowe told the contestants.

Kelsea Ballerini only played seven songs of her 20-something song setlist in Buffalo, New York, on Thursday, February 6. After she got through the first third of the show, it was announced that she could not finish the rest of the concert.
The Voice coach has been battling an illness all week. She powered through her Tuesday, February 4, concert in Detroit, Michigan, and thought she was on the mend by the time she hit the stage in upstate New York. However, in the end, she had to listen to her body and take some time off to rest.
“Buffalo, I am so, so sorry I could not finish the show tonight,” Ballerini said in a TikTok video. “I am sicker than I am trying to be. I did not want to let anyone down tonight and I just got through the first few songs and I couldn’t do it. I am so sorry. I never want to give you a half --- show.”
The country star announced that the Buffalo show, in addition to the next two dates on the tour in Pittsburgh and Toronto, were going to be rescheduled for April 11, April 12, and April 13, respectively. “I will make them the best shows I’ve ever played in my whole life,” she promised. “I will pull out every stop for you and I will make it so worth it. I’m going to rest now and get better so I can show up for the rest of this tour. I hope you understand and give me the grace to be human.”
In the video, Ballerini was noticeably congested. It’s been a busy few weeks, as she kicked off the tour on January 21 and has been playing several shows a week. In the midst of the chaos, she also flew to Los Angeles to attend the Grammy Awards on February 2.
HGTV's highly anticipated new competition series The Flip Off, starring former Flip or Flop stars and exes Tarek El Moussa and Christina Haack, delivered HGTV's highest-rated freshman series premiere among Adults 25-54 since September 2022, attracting 4.0 million total viewers across linear and streaming when it premiered on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Garnering a .56 live plus three-day rating among Adults 25-54, the episode posted impressive triple-digit gains of 180 percent over the previous six weeks and 107 percent over year-ago levels for the demo in its Wednesday timeslot.

In addition, The Flip Off helped HGTV rank as the #2 non-news/sports cable network among Women 25-54 for the night, and the episode ranked as the #2 non-news/sports cable program among Women 25-54 and as a top 5 non-news/sports cable program among Adults 25-54 and Men 25-54.
Fans are highly engaged with The Flip Off content on HGTV's digital platforms, delivering 20 million impressions and 17 million video views on HGTV's Facebook, X (formerly known as Twitter), Instagram, TikTok and Threads in January alone.

“Flip Side,” which airs on Atlanta News First, is casting and filming its second season in Atlanta. Hosted by Jaleel White from “Family Matters,” the show gives teams of two an opportunity to win up to $10,000.
Each team — which could be made up of family, friends, neighbors, co-workers or any pair you can think of — is tasked with guessing the most popular answers to survey questions.
To apply, everyone on your team must be at least 18 years old. You also have to be local or in Atlanta during the taping in May, June and July 2025.
