Donald Trump‘s second swearing-in as president will have an A-list performance.
Country star Carrie Underwood will be a guest performer at Trump’s upcoming inauguration ceremony, TMZ was first to report. The event will take place Monday, Jan. 20 on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol.
Underwood confirmed the gig in a statement obtained by our sister site Variety, saying, “I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event. I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future.”
Underwood’s performance of “America the Beautiful” is listed as part of the program for the big day, after J.D. Vance is sworn in as vice president. She will be accompanied by the Armed Forces Chorus and the United States Naval Academy Glee Club. Other scheduled performers include the Village People, the band behind one of Trump’s favorite songs “Y.M.C.A.”
Underwood isn’t the only celebrity to have been part of a former president’s swearing-in ceremony. Aretha Franklin sang “My Country, ‘Tis of Thee” at Barack Obama’s ceremony in 2009, with Ray Charles singing “America the Beautiful” at Ronald Reagan’s second inauguration. Additionally, Barbra Streisand sang “God Bless America” at Bill Clinton’s inauguration in 1993, among many others.
With his second victory, Trump became the first candidate to win the presidency in two non-consecutive terms in more than 130 years, since Grover Cleveland in 1892. And at age 78, he is also now the oldest man ever elected president, breaking the record held by Biden.

Extracted is coming to FOX next month, and the network is giving viewers another look at the new series with the release of a new trailer.
The survival competition will have 12 contestants compete for a $250,000 prize while their family members decide when they have had enough and hit the big extract button in a locked bunker while they watch their loved one battle the elements.
FOX shared the following about the upcoming series:
“Hailing from the producers of Alone and Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, Extractedfeatures 12 untrained competitors attempting to survive extremely grueling conditions, perilous terrain, and the threat of fearsome predators in the unforgiving Canadian wilderness.
Meanwhile, some miles away, their family members are locked down at a secluded headquarters watching them navigate their dangerous surroundings alone via a 24/7 live feed. The fate of each untrained contestant in the wilderness lies in the hands of their family members back in HQ. Each amateur survivalist’s family has the power to decide whether their loved one has what it takes to brave the elements and fight to be the last one standing, or whether the family will push the ominous “Extract” button and remove their loved one and their whole family from the competition. Extracted begs the question: how far will their loved ones let them go for a chance for their family to win $250,000?”
The trailer for Extracted is below. The new series arrives on February 10th.
What do you think? Do you plan to watch this new competition on FOX in February?
Then you know it's time for Livewire! Until next time, play on playas.
