The Talking Through The Medias opening toss up story.
Jeopardy! is being revamped this season, getting an update just like fellow game show Wheel of Fortune has received recently.
Although Jeopardy! isn't getting a full remodel, the beloved program will soon be introducing a new game board. The revamped game board is going to show all of the 30 clues, six categories, and dollar amounts, all of which Jeopardy! viewers can see at home. This forthcoming game board marks the first time in years that there has been a board replacement on the show.
Along with the board adjustments, there will no longer be individual monitors, instead, there will be an electronic screen, similar to Wheel of Fortune's upgraded puzzle board.
News of Jeopardy!'s mini-face lift was announced on the game show's podcast Inside Jeopardy!—the audio show is hosted by Sarah Whitcomb Foss and former contestant Sam Buttrey—on Monday. Sam disclosed that initially the new game board was created for the upcoming Jeopardy! spinoff, Pop Culture Jeopardy!, but producers decided to use it for the original game show also.
While Jeopardy! viewers were greeted by a brand-new set this week, the quiz show team bid a difficult goodbye. Lisa Broffman, one of its most senior staffers having been with the show for 35 years, exited her role as co-executive producer.
Her departure was announced on Monday, October 14's Inside Jeopardy! podcast by now-sole Executive Producer Michael Davies and Producer Sarah Whitcomb Foss. Broffman began on Jeopardy! in 1989 and served as co-EP for the last decade. She worked for Merv Griffin Enterprises since 1976..

We are dead in the middle of Retro-Ber and I found another discovery to make. One thing that sprang in my mind is Dave's Archives. Classic adverts and nothing else. But there's something. Every video makes more views than Retrocirq and any other retro account combined. But there's also something.........
https://www.twitch.tv/thedavesarchives
He does Twitch for ad breaks that run longer. And as if that was enough.....
https://www.youtube.com/@DavesArchives
Over 150k subs and counting. How's that for a change? Retrocirq has got to catch up. Look up Dave's Archives on Youtube and see ad break memories.

Rob Brydon has been named the host of upcoming adventure reality competition series, Destination X. The innovative show coming to BBC One and iPlayer in 2025, will combine spectacular adventure travel and immersive gameplay with the ultimate guessing game.
Rob Brydon MBE is a Welsh actor, comedian and presenter most known for his role as Uncle Bryn in the hit BBC comedy 'Gavin & Stacey' for which he was nominated for a BAFTA for Best Comedy Performance. He also starred in the highly successful series 'The Trip' with Steve Coogan and has presented the wildly pupular panel show 'Would I Lie to You' since 2009.
As well as a number of iconic roles in British television, Brydon has starred in Hollywood blockbusters such as 'Barbie' as well as writing and producing his own comedy shows.
Rob Brydon says "How could I turn down the opportunity to become the mastermind of Destination X, the thrilling new travel adventure series coming to the BBC next year. It's a show that turns the whole of Europe into a board game - manipulating the players and the audience at home along the way. I can't wait to be the puppet master orchestrating every twist and turn as our contestants are taken on a journey where everything is not as it seems. It's going to be a wild ride!"
Dan Adamson, Managing Director at Twofour says "We are so delighted to have Rob Brydon as the host and puppet master of this incredible series. Playful, smart and mischievous, we know Rob will strike the perfect tone and be the very best guide for our cast and audience alike, as they embark on a journey like no other. At Twofour, we always love working with brilliant talent on our shows and there is no doubt that Rob is the perfect fit for this epic and ambitious new series."
Catherine Catton, Head of Factual Entertainment and Events at the BBC says "Rob is the perfect host to guide our cast and audience over the course of this extraordinary road trip where nothing is quite what it seems, and we are delighted to be working with him on this amazing series"
Merging fantasy with reality in this larger-than-life adventure competition series, viewers will follow contestants as they embark on the road trip of a lifetime but have no idea where they are. In order to win, they must figure out their mystery locations. Once they're on the blacked-out Destination X bus, the journey transforms into a real-life boardgame with challenges designed to offer clever clues as to their location, along with a few misdirects to keep them, and the viewers, always guessing. At the end of each episode, contestants must guess where they are and the furthest from the actual location will leave the competition. The first player to reach the final destination, Destination X, will be crowned the winner.
With high stakes and mind-blowing spectacular gameplay, the series will continuously keep viewers engaged and take them along for the ride.
Destination X is based on the award-winning Belgian format that was created and produced by Geronimo, and launched in Belgium in 2023 on commercial broadcaster VTM. It consistently won the Monday evening timeslot with an impressive 42% market share over the first eight episodes (18-44, Consolidated).

NBC Thursday released the names of the 14 lucky new players who will be battling the banker (and each other) in Season 2 of Deal or No Deal Island. Included in the bunch is Survivor winner Parvati Shallow, and this time around, she'll be facing off against a Big Brother legend: Dr. Will Kirby. Let the island games begin!
Shallow is no stranger to competition reality series. She first debuted in Survivor: Cook Islands, and later played on the Micronesia – Fans vs. Favorites season (which she won), in addition to Heroes vs. Villains and Winners at War. She was most recently seen in Season 2 of Peacock's smash-hit The Traitors, where she donned one of the show's now-iconic black robes.
As for Kirby — known to fans as Dr. Will — he famously won Season 2 of Big Brother back in 2001. While he's returned to the series to host jury roundtables, he hasn't competed on any reality series since 2006's Big Brother: All-Stars, where he placed fourth.
One other famous face will be greeting returning host/executive producer Joe Manganiello: Australian Survivor winner David Genat. The former supermodel competed in 2019's Champions v Contenders, and later went on to win the Aussie series' All Stars run in 2020.
The other competitors include:
- Rock Carlson, 65 | Henderson, Nev.
- Maria-Grace Cook, 21 | Greer, S.C.
- Seychelle Cordero, 31 | Staten Island, N.Y.
- Courtney Kim, 36 | Charlotte, N.C.
- Alexis Lete, 27 | Louisville, Ky.
- Luke Olejniczak, 29 | Eagle River, Wis.
- Sydnee Peck, 27 | Redondo Beach, Calif.
- Phillip Solomon, 37 | Austin, Texas
- Storm Wilson, 25 | Austin, Texas
- Dickson Wong, 24 | Wood River, Ill.
- La Shell Wooten, 55 | Chapel Hill, N.C.
In addition to Manganiello, models Ben Crofchick and Kamari Love will return as the Banker's Assistants. Whether original Deal or No Deal host and Island EP Howie Mandel will appear again remains a mystery.
In Deal or No Deal Island, briefcases are hidden around an island with more than $200 million in prize money split between them. In each episode, players compete in daring challenges to secure the briefcases that will be used in that night's game of Deal or No Deal. The player who snags the highest-value case gains immunity and gets to choose a fellow player to enter the Temple. The chosen competitor must then play a classic game of Deal or No Deal. If the player makes a bad deal, they are immediately eliminated. If the player makes a good deal, they get to select who to eliminate.
The winnings from each game of Deal or No Deal are added to a group pot that will grow throughout the season. The last player standing will face the Banker to potentially win the biggest prize in Deal or No Deal history..

Disney is taking a strategy that lent it a boost during the recent Hollywood labor strikes and working to apply it to its normal course of business.
The company intends to simulcast six broadcasts of "Monday Night Football," typically a mainstay of ESPN, on the ABC broadcast network, a maneuver that is likely to generate broader viewership of the games and deliver bigger ratings than the outlet's usual Monday night fare, which had been expected to consist of reality programming and game shows, including "Celebrity Wheel of Fortune." Even a Wednesday-night offering, "Scamanda," will be moved.
Now, ABC will run "Monday Night Football" on October 14 and 21; November 4, 18 and 25; and December 23 — all in addition to eight regular or post-season games that were expected to be televised on the network.
Last fall, Disney and the NFL agreed to do ten extra simulcasts on ABC, a move that would protect the network against viewership shortfalls caused by its lack of programming due to strikes by writers and actors. This year, the league and the media giant appear to have come to similar terms — even without a labor shortage causing concern. The NFL approved of the scheduling changes, which are only in effect for the current TV season.
Disney continues to grapple, however, with the effects of its audiences leaving traditional broadcast and cable TV for streaming video. Sports programming seems to be the one category that continues to draw the large simultaneous crowds that both advertisers and distributors crave. The league has consistently encouraged its media partners to offer ideas about extending the reach of the games they broadcast, according to a person familiar with the NFL's view.
Still, ABC had put significant effort into promoting the series it was set to debut, including "Scamanda," a Wednesday-night series based on a true-crime podcast. The decision will also push back some of the last episodes of "Wheel of Fortune" that feature longtime host Pat Sajak, who recently stepped down from the role.

"It's just like prison — can any of you relate to that?"
When House of Villains host Joel McHale asks the season 2 cast that question in the premiere before a jail-themed Battle Royale challenge, he's being incredibly sarcastic. Many of this season's reality TV villains have infamously served time, and the meta comedic series calls that out immediately. Richard Hatch, the first-ever Survivor winner who went to prison twice for tax evasion, quips, "Who pays taxes?" after McHale jokes about the $200,000 prize money getting taxed. Before putting on her orange jumpsuit costume for the challenge, Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice deadpans, "I didn't wear a jumpsuit, I wore a two-piece," when discussing her own jail time.
It's the perfect way to kick off a new season of House of Villains, the wacky, unserious reality competition series that both celebrated and redefined the fan-favorite genre in its first season last year. The E! show is back again with an all new roster of the most iconic villains to have ever graced (or cursed) the small screen. But this time, it's going even bigger, funnier, and more villainous every step of the way.
"Last year it felt like more of a family, whereas this year, these guys are conniving," showrunner John Irwin tells Entertainment Weekly in March on the set in between takes. "They're really trying to figure out how to win, and it's more cutthroat. We have some louder personalities too. So far it's pretty wacky. It's a powder keg just waiting to blow up."
The fuse has already been lit by multiple cast members who built their careers on winning strategic competition shows. "I'm going to wipe the floor with these people," Hatch tells EW on set. "They're not even people in my mind. They're just participants in this thing where they've got to get the f--- out of my way. That's going to happen on a schedule that suits me.".
