The Chase fans were in for a surprise during Monday's episode as they were treated to two chasers on the popular ITV show.
The much-loved quiz show was back for a brand new series following a lengthy break off air. With host Bradley Walsh at the helm, the special episode celebrated 15 years of The Chase with the new concept, Double Trouble.
Introducing the show, Bradley told viewers at home that two quizzing geniuses will take on the team of four. With Shaun 'The Dark Destroyer' Wallace to face the team first, it was Mark 'The Beast' Labbett who was the second chaser hoping to catch the players.
Over the course of its tenure on TV, The Chase has aired more than 2,200 daytime shows and some 235,000 questions have been asked to close to 9,000 contestants.
The series was recently licensed in Slovenia and Romania, meaning it has now been commissioned in 21 territories!
Michael Kelpie, Managing Director of Potato, the ITV Studios label which produces The Chase, said: "15 years on air is an incredible achievement and one we're so proud of.
"With The Chase still winning accolades and expanding around the world, the show continues to go from strength-to-strength entertaining global audiences."
Meanwhile, Katie Rawcliffe, Head of Entertainment Commissioning at ITV said: "The Chase is still the most watched programme in daytime reaching over 9.2 million viewers every week and having been streamed more than 23 million times in Q1 of this year alone.
"So, we're very excited and proud to be celebrating 15 impressive years of the show later this year on ITV1 and ITVX."

"Wheel of Fortune" took over the Santa Monica Pier in Southern California Friday night.
Just ahead of America's favorite game show starting its new season September 9, new host Ryan Seacrest joined longtime co-host Vanna White for a special event at the Santa Monica landmark. The Ferris wheel at Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier transformed into one giant recognizable symbol. Thanks to an 85-foot custom mesh screen and high-powered laser projectors, the "Wheel of Fortune" came to life for fans to spin.
The evening was fun for the show's stars as well.
"This is so exciting. I just can't believe it. I mean, look at that," White said pointing to the Ferris wheel. "I feel like it's not real."
"The moms, the dads, the kids want to come and spin the wheel. They've got their T-shirts on. They are so excited to have those as well," Seacrest said alongside White. "That's what this show is about. It's a family-fun friendly show."

Content creators posing as mastermind thieves: That's the concept behind Banijay Entertainment's latest format acquisition.
The Infiltrators is a gameshow in which contestants seek to infiltrate an eccentric billionaire's home and navigate its complex security system through a series a weird and wild challenges.
The series first launched on Channel 4 social media network Channel 4.0.
"Mystery gameplay remains hot," said Banijay Entertainment Head of Acquisitions Helen Greatorex. "It started when we all started doing escape rooms years ago, and it has become a way of life to people who want different game play, and that moved into entertainment and television. We are always looking for what's going to happen next, but for now we know there is still an appetite for the mystery genre and it doesn't seem to be changing."
Banijay has acquired the format rights from Cowshed Studios, the production arm of creative agency Cowshed Collective. Brokering the deal was 53 Degrees North Media's Luci Sanan, a veteran of the formats game who worked in sales for Banijay back in the early 2010s.
For Banijay, Infiltrators is a latest third-party acquisition following the likes of The Fortune Hotel from Tuesday's Child, which was for ITV; Genius Game from CJ ENM, adapted for ITV by Banijay UK's Remarkable Television, with David Tennant hosting; and Bloody Game, which originated on Korea's MBC and has since landed a recommission in Norway on TV2. The company's in-house formats include Love Triangle, MasterChef, Big Brother and Survivor, and upcoming Netflix shows Bear Hunt, which is a co-production with format originator Talkback, and Building a Band (working title).

To anyone thinking of when Trivial Pursuit and Scrabble will premiere on the CW.................
The fourth and final season of the CW's Superman & Lois will debut sooner than expected.
The CW has made a change on the network's fall schedule, with Superman & Lois and new wild west unscripted series The Wranglers moving from Thursday to Monday, swapping nights with the upcoming game shows Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit, which had originally been slated for Mondays.
The move is believed to be in response to ABC creating a 8 PM – 10 PM game show block on Mondays with Celebrity Wheel Of Fortune and Press Your Luck which would've gone head-to-head with the CW's game shows.
With Tuesdays and Fridays spoken for with the live WWE NXT and Inside The NFL, the network didn't have many nights to work with.
With the change, the CW series also are getting new, earlier premiere dates. The network's family game night — originally intended for an Oct. 7 bow, will launch on Thursday, Oct. 3 with the series premieres of Scrabble, hosted by Raven-Symoné, followed by Trivial Pursuit, hosted by LeVar Burton.
Season 4 of Superman & Lois, which had not been slated to debut until Oct. 17, will again launch with a two-hour premiere but on Oct. 7. The Wranglers, about the lives of professional cowboys and cowgirls on a Montana dude ranch, will premiere Oct. 14 following an original episode of Superman & Lois. The unscripted show replaced The Librarians: The Next Chapter after the drama moved to TNT.

Vincent Rubino, executive producer/showrunner of the upcoming Hollywood Squares revival on CBS, has been let go from the show for allegedly making a racially insensitive comment to BIPOC members of the production staff.
According to a source close to the matter, the veteran game show producer is accused of raising his arms and saying "don't rob me" to three persons of color — believed to be Black and Hispanic/Latino — who work as production assistants. Another person allegedly overheard the comment and reported it to HR.
Swift action was taken by Jesse Collins Entertainment, which is producing the new Hollywood Squares for CBS with Drew Barrymore's Flower Films, and Rubino was removed from the show, sources said.
Rubino declined to comment. A spokeswoman for the studio also declined to comment.
Rubino is an experienced producer in the game show space with credits such as The $100,000 Pyramid, Supermarket Sweep, Brain Games, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and 2010's The Newlywed Game.
CBS announced in May that it was bringing back Hollywood Squares for a 2025 midseason debut. Barrymore will occupy the center square. Hollywood Squares involves two contestants who play tic-tac-toe to win money and prizes. The "board" for the game is a vertical stack of open-faced cubes, each occupied by a celebrity seated at a desk and facing the contestants. The celebrities are asked questions and the contestants judge the legitimacy of their answers to win the game.

A new exhibit is coming to the Strong National Museum of Play thanks to new federal funding.
Nearly $400,000 awarded by the National Endowment for the Humanities will be used to create "Beyond the Buzzer: Game Shows in America."
The 5,200-square-foot, interactive exhibit will explore the history of game shows on their lasting impact on pop culture.
"This federal funding will allow The Strong to further expand their exhibits and build on their legacy of learning, creativity, and discovery through play," Rep. Joe Morelle said in a statement released Wednesday. "I'm grateful to The Strong for their ongoing commitment to our families and children of all ages, and I look forward to their continued success and growth for decades to come."
The display is slated to open in the next few years.
