Me: Hi everyone, good afternoon from the Pacific Bay area and ‬TGIF! Hope you are well. And if you aren't well, well........

Today is National Bikini Day. If Buzzr wants reruns of Beach Clash, then let them see bikinis. But as far as your imagination goes, let's...................get wired!!!!!!!!!!

A study of 2,000 adults revealed 28 per cent said quizzing via the TV helps them relax, while 67 per cent report a boost to their general knowledge. And two-thirds (64 per cent) also head out and about to take part in quizzes with other people. Quizzing is also now more popular than crosswords, sudoku and completing jigsaw puzzles.

Only 47 per cent of quizzers have actually won one they've entered in real life, but 14 per cent challenge their general knowledge at one every week either in person or online. Many (14 per cent) have a regular team they attend quizzes with, although 29 per cent go for the banter and lively atmosphere.

Gala Bingo, as part of its partnership with ITV show, The Chase, are offering people the chance to win a competition prize of a Chaser on their quiz team via its new Crack the Code game at The Chase Place.

Sara Jolly, at Gala Bingo, said: "Knowing a fact that nobody else does on your quiz team is a win like no other. And the best place to pick up these juicy little nuggets of information is usually on TV quiz shows, such as The Chase, who we're excited to be partnered with. There's also a serious side to taking part in quizzes too, in that it helps keep your brain active and learning all the time, which is so important."

Only 34 per cent of quiz participants are motivated by the prospect of winning a prize, with socialising (43 per cent) and banter (35 per cent) being more enjoyable aspects. Interestingly, nearly one in ten (nine per cent) of those who have won a cash prize took home £250 or more.

While the pub is the most common location for quizzes (54 per cent), 32 per cent have enjoyed one at home and 21 per cent have participated in one at their workplace as a social event with colleagues.

BBC G-O-N-E?

Richard Osman has shed light on the BBC's financial struggles and the potential impact on its programming slate. The esteemed author and television personality, known for creating the hit quiz show Pointless on BBC One, hosting Two Tribes on BBC Two, and currently fronting Richard Osman's House of Games, as well as helming the comedy panel show Insert Name Here, delved into the broadcaster's fiscal challenges during his The Rest Is Entertainment podcast.

Osman, 53, highlighted the stark reality facing the corporation, noting: "The BBC has an awful lot less money than it used to, so some stuff has to go," while discussing the future of the BBC's content amidst budget cuts. He elaborated on the dire situation, stating, "The BBC has pretty much run out of money.

This commentary arrives on the heels of news that the BBC decided to axe the beloved quiz show A Question Of Sport just a month prior.

Bosses have pulled the plug on the family-friendly programme, which had an impressive fifty-year run, due to falling ratings and limited iPlayer appeal. However, they were quick to assert that the brand is not up for sale and the broadcaster retains the right to revive it in the future.

This decision follows the controversial removal of Sue Barker as presenter in 2020, along with long-standing team captains Matt Dawson and Phil Tufnell.

And we zip ahead to a segment with the following qualifications: Someone who can stream for more than one year of his or her own time, can be of some certain variety or within the realm outside of video games (i.e. Artwork, Music), viewership numbers on averages and the category most important: Play Jackbox games if necesssary. TalesofTLove - Twitch

Here's a good lovely tale for you...............

You are the Twitchhead of the month for July of 2024. You get an imaginary plaque to hang on the wall, bragging rights and what else, Amy Irons?

Amy: Singing lessons, so you can actually be a singer. Not a voice shift changer.

Me: And I was thinking she was going to, but another time or so. Anyways, tune in next week to see who's an actual singer, dancer, musician or something like that.

Judge before you Croak

Having passed judgement up until America’s Got Talent season 19 so far, one judge has zero plans to leave. Most judges decide to move on and change their focus, but not Howie Mandel.

Howie Mandel revealed he plans to be on America’s Got Talent “until he dies”. He said on The Domenick Nati Show, “I’ve told people I’m close to, once I’m dead, I’ve decided I don’t want to do it anymore.”

He has been a judge on the NBC show since 2010, and Citytv’s Canada’s Got Talent since 2022. When Howie was offered the role, he already “loved the show,” as told to the Mislaibeled podcast.

“It’s even better being on it because when you are in the room and another human being you have no connection with has a hope and dream, and you are there, you watch a dream come true,” Mandel said.

Watching the AGT contestants’ dreams come true is what keeps Howie on the judging panel. He talked about the “human connection” he feels when a stranger shares their talent with the audience.

He said, “I just love watching people perform, it’s a problem. I am obsessive. I live on social media and I watch people doing stuff.” His average phone use is seven and a half hours a day as a result.

Howie “feels fascinated by somebody showing up and doing things and getting likes” but admits he “doesn’t get” how people are so engaged with social media content creators.

6 Pack Whammies

“Press them or pass them.” Such is the nature of ABC‘s hit game show Press Your Luck.

The show, hosted by Elizabeth Banks, returns with its sixth season on Thursday, July 18 at 8/7c, and TV Insider has an exclusive first look at the promo and key art. The poster, which you can check out in full below, features Banks, with sunglasses with Whammys on them and the tagline, “You win some. You Whammy some.”

The promo offers a look at some of the players of the season deciding whether to press or pass as they hope to avoid the dreaded Whammy. “Looking for fun?” Banks asks. “One press is all it takes.”

Press Your Luck is a game of wits, strategy, and high stakes as contestants try to avoid the iconic and devilish Whammy for a chance at life-changing cash and prizes. During each game, three contestants compete against each other, answering questions to earn spins on the Big Board. Contestants then use their spins to win cash and prizes while trying to avoid the Whammy, which could take all of their winnings and leave them with nothing. The winning contestant moves on to the bonus round to face the Whammy in a final battle for the chance to win $1 million.

And now here's something you'll really enjoy.
