The  Talking Through The Medias opening toss up story.

Joan Vassos will be staying golden.

ABC announced at the 2024 Disney Upfronts at the Javits Center in New York City on Tuesday, May 14, that Vassos, 61, will take the lead as the first Golden Bachelorette this fall after appearing on the first season of The Golden Bachelor.

Despite being a frontrunner for Gerry Turner's heart, the school administrator bowed out during Week 3 to be with her daughter after she gave birth. Vassos planned to return to the show if her daughter was doing better, but "it wasn't in the cards," she told TheWrap.

Vassos welcomed four children with her husband of 32 years John, who died in January 2021 from pancreatic cancer.

"He was the husband that always made me feel safe and cherished," she wrote on Instagram in January. "He was the parent that was always the fun one because that's all he knew how to do...lucky kids because fun in his book was generally epic. I could go on for hours."

The decision to do a female-led version of the senior dating show came after The Golden Bachelor ranked as the No. 1 new unscripted series in its season among adults ages 18-49 according to ABC. The show also marked ABC's No. 1 unscripted series premiere ever on Hulu.

ABC also revealed on May 14 that The Golden Bachelorette will run for an hour and a half on Wednesdays this fall, up from The Golden Bachelor's one-hour episodes last year. The Golden Bachelorette will air at 8 p.m. ET before Abbott Elementary.

We have this from Warner Bros. Discovery.

Warner Bros. Discovery kept up with TV upfronts week's biggest trend at their presentation out of The Theater at Madison Square Garden Wednesday: Promoting not just its TV slate as a prime ad-buying opportunity — but also its film franchises.

In game shows, the highlights were...

- HARRY POTTER: WIZARDS OF BAKING (Food): Food Network has a new magical treat in store for viewers this holiday season: The Warner Bros. Discovery-owned cable channel has ordered a baking competition inspired by the beloved "Harry Potter" franchise. Titled "Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking," the new show will feature "innovative pastry chefs" as they "craft spellbinding sweet creations" inspired by the films starring Daniel Radcliffe in the titular role. The show will be filmed at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London's "The Making of Harry Potter" location, giving the competitors "unprecedented access to the actual sets where the films were made as they present their creations to the judges and special guests." Weasley Twins actors James & Oliver Phelps will host.
- HAVE I GOT NEWS FOR YOU (CNN): CNN is taking a swing at comedy, with plans to launch a U.S. version of the long-running BBC comedy quiz show Have I Got News For You. CNN is calling it a limited series, with a debut set for the fall. Have I Got News For You is in its 66th season at the BBC, having launched in 1990. The program features two teams of panelists who answer questions about the week's news, cracking jokes and sparking discussions in the process. Hat Trick Productions, the company behind the BBC series, will also produce the U.S. edition. CNN did not announce a host or any regular panelists (the BBC version features Ian Hislop and Paul Merton as regular panelists)

Over to the streaming side starting with Netflix.

A small group of advertisers were serenaded by Metallica's Master of Puppets (one of those songs that Stranger Things brought to a new generation) as they walked into Netflix's first in-person Upfront.

Held at Pier 59 Studios in New York, the event had the feeling of an immersive theater experience with a lot of black t-shirt-clad staff handing out drinks.

It comes as the streamer unveiled a number of new series and films including a new Kevin Williamson drama, a bull riding drama starring Tim McGraw and a slew of sports docs as well as more episodes of 3 Body Problem.

In game shows, the highlights were...

- RHYTHM+FLOW season 2: More than four years after Rhythm + Flow debuted on Netflix, the hip-hop music competition series is back with a second season featuring new judges, DJ Khaled, Ludacris and Latto. The streamer also announced Eminem as a special guest who will join the battles round "from a surprise location." Additional music industry guests for the show, in which a panel of judges aim at discovering the next generation's rap star, will be revealed at a later date.

ITV panel show Sorry, I Didn't Know has sealed itself in the record books by becoming the network's longest-running show from a production company led by Black creatives.

Hosted by Bel-Air star Jimmy Akingbola and shot in front of a live audience in London, the series, which launched just after the Black Lives Matter protests, sees team captains Chizzy Akudolu and Eddie Kadi plus guests take each other on in several quiz rounds mainly centered on Black history.

Produced by TriForce Productions, Sorry, I Didn't Know has consistently made history itself, first becoming the inaugural UK TV quiz show to be centered on Black history, before being shifted away from the Black History Month schedules and now becoming "the longest running show produced by a company led by Black creatives," according to the producers. Producers believe it is the longest-running show from a Black-led indie across all UK networks.

And don't freak out because the answer is................Michael Jordan. More richer than David Beckham and Mo Salah and Ja Morant combined.

GSN in the 2010s was a weird and interesting time for new games. One of them was this.

Skin Wars. The only game show where body painting takes front and center.

On September 12, 2013, GSN ordered eight episodes of the series,[1][2] making it GSN's first television show devoted to body art.[2] On February 4, 2014, GSN announced Rebecca Romijn as host of Skin Wars, with RuPaul CharlesCraig Tracy and Robin Slonina serving as judges.[3]

The series premiered on GSN August 6, 2014.[4] That same night, the network released an online series, Skin Wars: The Naked Truth with Kandee Johnson which began immediately after Skin Wars on DOOR3, GSN's YouTube channel and targeted toward 18- to 25-year-olds. The series features commentary from Johnson as well as highlights from that night's episode and a "Skinterview" with one of the contestants.[5]

On September 30, 2014, GSN announced plans to air a ten-episode second season of Skin Wars with Romijn and all three judges returning to reprise their respective roles.[6] The second season premiered June 10, 2015.[7]

A spinoff, Skin Wars: Fresh Paint hosted by RuPaul, aired as a special on August 26, 2015. It featured six highly accomplished artists, each at the top of their game, as they leave their comfort zones to compete in body painting for the first time. The artists must conquer three difficult challenges as they are mentored by three top artists from the first season, Dutch Bihary, Lawrence "Gear" Duran and Season One champion, Natalie Fletcher. As the artists worked closely with their body painting mentors, they attempted to quickly master the craft and win the $10,000 prize and become champion. It premiered to 456,000 viewers.[8] Later, it became a series itself, premiering on June 15, 2016.[9]

On August 27, 2015, GSN renewed the series for a third season.[10]

The winners of the program in chronological order are as follows: Natalie Fletcher, Lana Chronium and Rick Uribe.
