Me:Welcome everybody to Game Show Live! where we get lit and get involved. Let's kick it off with......

The  Talking Through The Medias opening toss up story.

For the BBC, spooky mystery format The Traitors is the gift that keeps on giving.

While BBC One's UK version proved an outsized hit and ratings bonanza, the U.S. version's premiere has just become the most-watched show on the relaunched BBC Three linear network.

With 1.2M consolidated viewers over the past two weeks, the opening episode, titled The Game is Afoot, sits atop the BBC Three charts, according to Barb data supplied by Liam Hamilton.

The US version of the popular Dutch reality TV show, Peacock announced following its premiere early this year, had become the most-watched reality show on its platform, and as a reward to its faithful fans renewed the show for a second season. In addition to premiering on Peacock, the US version of the show was also made available to UK audiences via the recently relaunched BBC Three and now according to Barb data supplied by Liam Hamilton, the show has now become the most-watched show on BBC Three besting fellow reality TV competition shows such as RuPaul's Drag Race UK and The Rap Game both of which are broadcast on the network.

In addition to the show's renewal, the Season One reunion will stream on Peacock February 28, hosted by Bravo icon Andy Cohen. The dramatic reunion will bring the Season One cast together for the first time since the traitorous finale.

The Traitors is an ambitious, highly addictive and spontaneous format that keeps contestants and viewers on their toes," said Corie Henson, EVP Entertainment Unscripted Content, NBCUniversal. "Alan Cumming is a well-dressed genius, the producers at Studio Lambert are brilliant storytellers and the show is the perfect mix of drama and suspense to keep our Traitors and Faithfuls craving more."

"We hugely enjoyed making the US version of this hit format with NBC and giving Peacock's audience a highly bingeable murder mystery game full of intrigue and dramatic twists," said Stephen Lambert, CEO, Studio Lambert. "This is the game which shows how people judge each other, often leaping to false conclusions, in a way that's revealing and entertaining, and we're excited to be making a second season with Alan as together we build on the success of the first."

Last week, we introduced you all to Micall and her song "Courtroom Headtrip" is about going through a toxic relationship and the after effects of it. We sent a camera crew to Los Angeles and we've askeed Micall to interview people about the new song.

We'll have part 2 later on in this blog.

When Netflix announced its reality game show Squid Game: The Challenge, it immediately drew the ire of fans who'd sat through the original twisted South Korean thriller, about a group of poor people recruited to compete in a series of deadly games for millions in prize money, and wondered: How could this possibly end well?

Still, the ambitious competition managed to find 456 contestants willing to compete for a $4.56 million prize — earning the show the bragging rights of boasting the largest cast, and cash prize, in TV history. But the first day of filming had barely wrapped last Monday when reports began to trickle out about how the show's production was a complete disaster.

"It was just the cruelest, meanest thing I've ever been through," one former contestant tells Rolling Stone. "We were a human horse race, and they were treating us like horses out in the cold racing and [the race] was fixed."

But sources allege that Netflix and the show's co-producing studios, Studio Lambert and The Garden, have downplayed the gravity of the hellish day. Additionally, they believe news coverage missed a key point in their complaints: that the game seemed to be rigged to begin with.

The former players claim that some contestants — several of whom were TikTok and Instagram influencers — appeared to be pre-selected to advance to the next round no matter the outcome of the first game, and were fully mic'd up while a majority of the eliminated contestants had dummy microphones around their necks. One former player claims rules were bent to heighten a contestant's storyline, and another says they witnessed an eliminated player being put back into the game.

"It really wasn't a game show. It was a TV show, and we were basically extras in a TV show," one explains.

Three former players describe what contestants are now calling the "38-second massacre," when a large group of contestants made it across the finish line with time remaining on the clock, meaning they had successfully made it through to the next round. However, as they waited for producers to go over footage and get drone shots from the round, their blood squib packs went off minutes later, and they were told they had been eliminated, despite making it across the finish line. "They went crazy," one contestant recalls.

Two former contestants confirmed that some players, including themselves, were seeking legal advice to see if there were grounds for a lawsuit against the production studios for workplace safety violations, negligence and false pretenses. (Co-producer Studio Lambert, which is behind popular reality shows such as The Circle, Naked Attraction and The Traitors, has previously faced claims of making staffers work in "inhumane" conditions. Staffers on the UK's Gogglebox alleged in 2021 that they worked excruciatingly long hours and were made to go without breaks.)

Netflix previously said in a statement that three sought medical attention for minor conditions, but defended the safety of the production. In a joint statement from Netflix and co-producing studios The Garden and Studio Lambert on Friday, the production companies denied claims of a fixed game, saying "any suggestion that the competition is rigged or claims of serious harm to players are simply untrue."

"We've taken all the appropriate safety precautions, including after care for contestants – and an independent adjudicator is overseeing each game to ensure it's fair to everyone," the statement added.

'Memba This?

It was the live trivia game everyone wanted to play. If they could get the app to work.

HQ Trivia became a sensation not long after it was released for mobile platforms in 2017, promising cash prizes to users who could correctly answers a series of timed questions in rapid fire succession (eg. "What was the first successfully cloned animal?" Answer: sea urchin). But it eventually imploded, done in by constant technical problems and infighting among its key personnel.

The CNN Films documentary Glitch: The Rise and Fall of HQ Trivia explores what happened to the app that at one point attracted a million or more people at a time to its trivia contests. CNN Films released a trailer for the documentary today and announced it will premiere on CNN on Sunday, March 5. Glitch will stream live for pay TV subscribers via CNN.com and CNN OTT and mobile apps, or CNNgo (where available) and it will be available on demand beginning Monday, March 6, to pay TV subscribers via CNN.com, CNN apps, and cable operator platforms.

Glitch: The Rise and Fall of HQ Trivia, produced by Left/Right for CNN Films and HBO Max, is directed by Salima Koroma (Dreamland: The Burning of Black Wall Street).

# of seasons Forensic Files ran on TV

or

# of seasons the NBC medical drama ER ran

Pick the most seasoned veteran after this video from Kelsey Mccowan. Just last week, she sent this video in and decided to do a fashion show..........alone.

And now for the answer. Forensic Files ran for 14, but ER, the classic medical show........one more than the former. So ER was the correct one.

Well so far in February, we have many things the UK meant to me and next week is half term for you students, but way back in the mid to late eighties......

First Class was like Starcade meeting Contraption and.......you get the idea.

The show was Two teams of three students (each team representing a particular school) would take part in a multi-format quiz featuring questions on both general knowledge and popular culture, as well as innovative video game rounds. Rounds such as the "Spinning Gold Disc" made use of a simulated computer display similar to other game shows of the same era, such as Blockbusters and Catchphrase. Other rounds such as "Word of Mouth" used a real computer display from a BBC Micro.[2] This computer also provided the on-screen captions and scores and was nicknamed Eugene, after the show's original programmer Eugene Crozier.[1]

The competition was a knockout tournament; the eventual winners of the series would be presented with a computer (usually a BBC Master) for their school. Celebrity episodes of the show were also aired, featuring cast members from Grange Hill and EastEnders.[2]

First Class was notable for its use of video games;[3][4] such footage (of arcade games in particular) was a rarely seen on UK television at the time and the show aired several years before GamesMaster. The designated contestant from each team would earn points by beating the other player's score; rounds would be either turn-based and head-to-head depending on the game / event. The games were often referred to by their events as opposed to their titles, for example the "spring and vault" round or the "clay pigeon shooting".

The music used for the programme's titles was "Airborn" by Mike Oldfield, from his 1979 album Platinum.[2]

First Class didn't involve flying an airplane but involved knowledge. That's what the UK meant to me. What about you?
