The Talking Through The Medias opening toss up story.
Jeopardy! has officially entered the post-Alex Trebek era with two permanent hosts splitting duties behind the podium for the biggest trivia game show on the planet. But Trebek's impact on the show remains, and two years after his death the syndicated show paid tribute to the longtime host on Tuesday.
The moment came not during actual play, but as a warmup game of sorts between Matt Amodio, Mattea Roach, and Amy Schneider. As a bit of an interlude to the Tournament of Champions, three of Season 38's biggest winners played each other to keep their skills sharp despite all getting automatic byes into the tournament's semifinals.
It also, smartly, meant that any election coverage cutting into syndicated airings would not have viewers missing action crucial to the tournament's results. That lack of stakes meant the game had a bit looser of a feel, and the trivia for some categories was more, well, trivial, than is often the case. Which is why the show had an entire category about Trebek's life.
The pairings and dates for the semifinals are as follows:

Roku, Inc. announced today two all-new Roku Original unscripted series, Morimoto's Sushi Master and The Cupcake Guys, and the premiere date for Roku's inaugural Spanish-language, original series ¡Que Delicioso!.
Morimoto's Sushi Master features renowned chef and restauranteur Masaharu Morimoto as head judge of a cooking competition centered on the world's most popular cuisine: sushi. Hosted by Lyrica Okano (Marvel's Runaways), the six-episode series highlights the skill, ingredients, delicacy and talent needed to perfect the art of sushi-making. Eight competing sushi chefs will work to impress Morimoto, along with judges Chef Dakota Weiss, Executive Chef of Santa Fe's famed Coyote Café and former co-owner of Sweetfin Poke, and Chef Kenji Lopez-Alt, New York Times food columnist and author of bestselling cookbook The Food Lab. Produced by Ample Entertainment, Ari Mark, Phil Lott, Kathryn Vaughn, Liz Cook and Masaharu Morimoto serve as executive producers.
¡Que Delicioso!, Roku's inaugural Spanish language original series, is set to premiere on Friday, November 25. Renowned chefs Marcela Valladolid and Chris Valdes will both host and judge the seven-episode competition which celebrates Latin cuisine. Produced by World of Wonder and Robert Rodriguez's El Rey, Fenton Bailey, Randy Barbato, Tom Campbell, Richard Borjas, John Fogelman and Cristina Patwa serve as executive producers and Moira Noriega as co-executive producer.
"The addition of Morimoto's Sushi Master, The Cupcake Guys and ¡Que Delicioso! to the Roku Originals lineup encapsulates our commitment to premium, original series that are representative and reflective of our diverse streaming audience," shared Brian Tannenbaum, Head of Alternative Originals, Roku. "Each of these series offers a fresh take on formats that we know will instantly connect with our audience, and we look forward to sharing these projects on The Roku Channel."

Amazon Freevee has released the official trailer for America's Test Kitchen: The Next Generation, hosted by Daytime Emmy winner Jeannie Mai Jenkins. The 10-episode food competition series will bring home cooks inside the real America's Test Kitchen (ATK) studio and put them to the test, to determine if they have what it takes to win $100,000, the opportunity to author their own cookbook, and a spot on the coveted ATK team. The series premieres on December 9, with new episodes released weekly through February 10 on Amazon Freevee in the U.S. and UK.
Chefs Claudette Zepeda, Gesine Bullock-Prado, Jamie Bissonnette, Karen Akunowicz, Kwame Onwuachi, and Nick DiGiovanni will serve as guest judges, joining previously announced series regulars - and ATK icons - Dan Souza, Elle Simone Scott, Jack Bishop, and Julia Collin Davison.
Freevee customers enjoying the series will be able to cook along with their favorite home chefs. Each week throughout the series' initial airing, the weekly challenge recipes and list of ingredients will be made available for customers to purchase on Amazon Fresh. In addition to the series, customers can now stream the America's Test Kitchen Specials FAST channel, which includes 48 episodes of seasonally relevant content for the holidays. The channel, which launched on November 8, is exclusive to Freevee, with eight original episodes of ATK featured alongside a set of exclusive content from ATK's archives.
America's Test Kitchen: The Next Generation is executive produced by David Lonner, David Nussbaum, Jack Bishop, Jenn Van Persaud, Madeline Langlieb, Mark Itkin, and Mark Levine. Teri Weideman (Project Runway, Bobby's Triple Threat) is also an executive producer and serves as the series' showrunner.

Maya Rudolph and Amy Poehler reunite to host and executive produce "Baking It" Season 2 on Peacock, which will kick off with a lively celebrity holiday special on Dec. 12 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
Fred Armisen, Kristen Bell, Nicole Richie & JB Smoove are joining this friendly competition to "cele-bake" the holidays and raise some dough for their favorite charities. Maya and Amy will keep their friends on their toes with thrilling twists throughout the episode.
The celebrities draw inspiration for their baking from beloved holiday traditions and family recipes. Their tasty treats include:
· Austrian Schaumrollen and Pickle Soup made by Kristen Bell, whose competitive nature led her to make two delectable dishes.
· Sticky Apple Cake made by holiday lover Nicole Richie, who starts her festive season as early as September.
· Vegan Banana Pudding Cake made by self-proclaimed "Cake Architect" JB Smoove, who made up his recipe on the spot.
· Venezuelan Hallacas made by Fred Armisen, a recipe he got from his mother, although he has never baked before. Though it's his first time baking, Armisen is a seasoned vet at NBC. Viewers can also catch him on the "That's My Jam" holiday special airing Dec 5.
Dropping the same day as the NBC holiday special, "Baking It" Season 2 premieres Dec. 12 on Peacock, with a new batch of bakers competing in teams in a series of captivating challenges hilariously designed by Maya and Amy themselves. These challenges will test the competitors across a variety of bakes for the chance to win some serious money and the adoration of the beloved "Baking It" judges, a panel of opinionated grandmothers!
