dick clark productions and ABC today announced that award winning actor, producer and musician Wayne Brady will host the "2022 American Music Awards" (AMAs) live from the Microsoft Theater at L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles on SUNDAY, NOV. 20, at 8:00 p.m. EST/PST on ABC and streaming the next day on Hulu. For the first time ever, the "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" star and current "Dancing with the Stars" contestant will take the AMAs stage to usher in music's hottest night of the year, which will feature showstopping performances and exciting moments highlighting music's biggest names.

"I'm ecstatic and honored to host this year's AMAs. As a musician and music lover, it's amazing to be part of a night where music fans make their voices heard!" said Brady. "It's a big show, so I'm bringing it all ... The funny, the music and the moves!"

"Wayne Brady is undoubtedly one of the most talented people on earth, and we are thrilled to have him host this year's AMAs," said executive producer and showrunner Jesse Collins. "Viewers should expect an incredible night of music, comedy and fun!"

Brady is known as a master of improv, actor, dancer, Broadway star and television host. He got his start as a sketch comedy performer on shows such as "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" and ABC's "The Wayne Brady Show," and is also a current contestant on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars." A true entertainer at heart, Brady is sure to bring his diverse talents to the AMAs stage alongside the world's favorite musicians.

Brady will join a long lineage of global comedic stars taking the AMAs stage - Cedric the Entertainer, Jimmy Kimmel, Eddie Murphy, Tracee Ellis Ross and Norm McDonald to name a few, as well as last year's host Cardi B.

Haines Holds a Habit

The Chase star Anne Hegerty has revealed host Bradley Walsh's most annoying habit on the hit ITV quiz show.

Anne appears on the series as her alter-ego The Governess, and though her character might be fictional, she uses her real life genius to try and beat out the competition from contestants.

As for Bradley, he's a hit with the viewers, often bringing the laughs by cracking jokes - or in some cases just chuckling at hilarious questions.

But sometimes this can go a bit too far, as revealed by Anne in a new interview with the Daily Star.

The 64-year-old former I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! star said: "He sometimes has the tendency to chat on and on and on with contestants.

"And we're sitting down at the bottom with The Chase's producer, who doubles as the show's editor, and he's like, 'For goodness sake, Brad! This is all coming out,' and makes snip gestures."

Perhaps this is the reason that Bradley's not a member of the Chasers' special group chat.

This was revealed by Jenny Ryan, aka The Vixen, who also spoke to the publication at this year's National Television Awards.

The topic was brought up while discussing whether there's any rivalry between the Chasers on the show.

Although the Chasers all get on, Jenny explained: "There's a little bit of rivalry, there's a lot of different stats and I think we are all top on one of the stats.

"We have the Chasers group chat, which no, Bradley isn't in. We'd drive him up the wall and he'd drive us up the wall."

She continued: "Sometimes Brad does act a little bit dim to wind us up and he pretends he doesn't know a thing.

"When actually [he's] incredibly one of the most switched-on humans there is, he's just doing it for a joke.

"Also, when he drinks too much coffee in the morning he talks a bit too fast too."

Earlier this year, it was revealed that The Governess was forced to step away from The Chase after contracting Covid.

She was replaced by Issa ‘The Supernerd’ Schultz, who has been popular on the Australian version of the long-running series.

Done Dancing

Cheryl Burke may have danced her last dance on “Dancing with the Stars.” After her and Sam Champion‘s elimination last week on Season 31, the two-time champ is likely done as a pro.

“A lot of people have asked me if this is my last season. The answer to that question is likely yes, this is my last season, as a dancer that is,” Burke said on her podcast Burke in the Game. “To have been a part of a show for 26 seasons, it is hard for me [to leave]. … I always come back, because, I guess, it’s really hard to say goodbye to a show and to a family, that I’ve only known here in Los Angeles. I moved her when I was 21. I’m 38 now. My body is also telling me to stop and it has been.”

Burke has expressed her desire to move on from “Dancing” before, including last year when she said Season 30 might be her last. At the time, she also said she wanted to start a family with her then-husband Matthew Lawrence, from whom she filed for divorce in February. “I know a lot of people are saying it’s because I want kids. That is not the reason,” she explained on the podcast. “The reason is because I want to be OK with the uncertainty of what life is about to throw at me. Until I close a chapter, how do I expect another one to open?”

Even though her literal dancing days may be over, Burke would like to remain on “Dancing” in a different capacity, not unlike how Derek Hough transitioned from pro to judge. “I do believe, though, that I have proven myself enough to where I could either be a correspondent or host. Not saying I’m trying to take anybody’s job, you guys. Please don’t write about that. I’m just saying you can always add another host. You can always add another judge. It’s a two-hour show with no commercial breaks,” she said. “There are other options I have and we are currently in the middle of discussing all of this at the moment, so I will definitely keep you guys posted on what that means.”

Meanwhile, Gambitettiquette came up with a brand new Halloween idea. Ready to see it? Well good, here it comes.

Is Regis Alive?

Actress and TV host Kelly Ripa has been opening up about her career, specifically, her time co-hosting Live with Regis and Kelly and whether she would have accepted the job if given the chance for a do-over.

Speaking on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Ripa touched on joining Regis Philbin on Live in 2001 after his former long-time co-host Kathie Lee Gifford left the show. She mentioned how she learned of all the backstage drama in later years and how she wouldn’t have taken on the role had she known about that at the time.

“[Philbin] should not have had to have a host assigned to him. That’s not fair. He paid his dues, and he established this show, and I really advocate for him in this book,” said Ripa, referring to her new memoir, Live Wire. She noted that “it’s hard to put two strangers from two completely different generations” together for a high-caliber show. “I felt for him because he was so famous and was so well-established.”

And sticking with Kelly Ripa..........

Kelly Ripa recently released a tell-all memoir, Live Wire: Long-Winded Short Stories, which details her personal life and struggles. One chapter in particular has come under scrutiny for describing Ripa’s complex relationship with her beloved first co-host on LiveRegis Philbin, who passed away in 2020.

Kathie Lee Gifford, who hosted Live for 15 years with Philbin before Ripa took over, let it be known she will not be reading the memoir.

Gifford told Good Day New York, “I was really sorry to see the headlines. What’s the point? I just know what Regis was to me. He was, for 15 years, the best partner a person could ever, ever have professionally, but he was my friend. We were dear friends and after I left the show, for the next 20 years, we became better friends, dearer friends.”

Programming note: Buzzr drops Whew and Talk About from the lineup starting November 7. So after November 7th, it'll be out of here. Forever. Really. Seriously.
