CBS has renewed four of its popular unscripted series for the 2022-2023 broadcast season. The returning CBS Original series are SURVIVOR, THE AMAZING RACE, TOUGH AS NAILS and SECRET CELEBRITY RENOVATION. Additional renewals will be announced over the coming weeks.
SURVIVOR is a top 25 broadcast, delivering 7.59 million viewers in the fall after a season-long, COVID-related hiatus. This season, SURVIVOR is CBS' most-streamed reality series on Paramount+, with streaming viewership up +199% from its prior fall season. The fall edition of SURVIVOR amassed five billion social media impressions. The Emmy Award-winning series returns tonight with a two-hour season premiere, Wednesday, March 9 (8:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT).
THE AMAZING RACE delivered 5.42 million viewers this past season. The series' streaming viewership is up +93% on Paramount+ from its prior season. The series amassed 748 million potential social media impressions this season.
TOUGH AS NAILS averages 3.57 million viewers. The series amassed 122 million potential social media impressions in its most recent season. Hosted by Phil Keoghan, TOUGH AS NAILS is a competition series that celebrates everyday Americans who consider the calluses on their hands a badge of honor.

Experiencing Love Is Blind withdrawal? Luckily, fans of the hit Netflix series won’t have to wait too long for new episodes, as Variety reports that the show’s third season will debut within the next year! The latest season of the reality dating show, which moves to Dallas, Texas for Season 3, was filmed back-to-back with the recently released Season 2, which premiered in February.
The series’ format will remain the same: singles get to know each other and fall in love in dating pods, never knowing what the person on the other side of the wall looks like until they get engaged. After meeting each other face-to-face and building their physical connection on a romantic tropical vacation, the couples head back to the real world to test if “love is truly blind.”
The first two seasons followed six couples out of the pods and into reality, with two pairs from each season choosing to tie the knot in the final episode. Interestingly enough, more couples left the experiment engaged than viewers saw in the series, a fan criticism creator Chris Coelen responded to recently.
“We didn’t even begin to tell the stories of the other engagements that happened, or lots of the other really fascinating, multi-layer relationships that went on. Many of the people who showed up really put themselves out there, tried and didn’t ultimately find a connection,” he told Variety. “I would love everybody to find the connection. I’d love there to be 12 engagements, and that’s unfortunately not the way that things happened.”.

Channel 4 has commissioned a second season of Richard Bacon’s Jimmy Carr-hosted quiz show I Literally Just Told You.
The second season’s run has been increased to eight episodes including two celebrity specials.
Produced by The Big Narstie Show indie Expectation, I Literally Just Told You from British formats creator Bacon sees four contestants given the opportunity to compete for a cash prize of £25,000 ($32,000) by answering questions that have been written live as the show is being filmed. The questions can be about absolutely anything that happens during the show, from a celebrity cameo to an off-the-cuff joke, or even something one of the contestants has shared about themselves.
The format increased Channel 4’s rating of 16-34-year-old viewers by 34% on average volume and 54% on slot average, according to the Gogglebox broadcaster.
I Literally Just Told You is the third recommission of a Bacon original in the past year, following ABC’s Craig Ferguson-hosted The Hustler and BBC One’s This is My House, which was recently picked up in The Netherlands. The TV and radio host has an overall deal with Universal Television Alternative Studio and Universal Television.
Bacon told Deadline: “The real joy of a second series is it allows me to go under the bonnet and tinker, see where we can make it louder and faster. This is such a fun show to make, especially writing the questions live.”

MTV today announced that the U.S. format of the global phenomenon Ex On The Beach has been greenlit for two new seasons. The dating series returns Thursday, March 31 at 8PM ET/PT with 12 hour-long episodes filmed at MTV's global production villa on the Gran Canaria Island of Spain.
It will also air on MTV internationally in 180 countries beginning April 14th.
Featuring romantically embattled stars from Love Island, Big Brother, Too Hot To Handle, World of Dance, The Challenge, Double Shot at Love and Paradise Hotel, the cast navigates the excitement and heartbreak of romantic relationships with old lovers and new prospects while constantly being blindsided by the surprise arrival of their exes. As ex-lovers wash ashore, the daters will have to decide whether to rekindle a past flame or move on for good.

Stand up comedian, Dara Ó Briain, will be making his grand return to our television screens as the host of a new Channel 4 show, One and Six Zeros.
The quiz show will see three contestants take on seven questions in an attempt to win a cash prize of £1,000,000 ($1.3 million, give or take). Every correct answer will reward them with a digit of their prize but a wrong one will wipe a zero from the final fund.
The series promises to be an exciting hour of entertainment and with Ó Briain's influence, plenty of fun with a lot of humour along the way.

HBO Max and Discovery+ will be combined into one streaming service package, Discovery’s CFO said at a conference on Monday.
When the merger between Discovery and WarnerMedia is complete, which is inching closer toward a reality after clearing a big shareholder approval hurdle last week, Discovery CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels said at the Deutsche Bank 30th Annual Media, Internet & Telecom Conference that the company is making preparations to combine the two offerings rather than bundle them.
However that may require some bundling early on — and may take several months to appropriately combine the two.
“One of the most important items here is that we believe in a combined product as opposed to a bundle,” he said (via Variety). “We believe that the breadth and depth of this content offering is going to be a phenomenal consumer value proposition.”
Discovery investors voted in approval of the company’s $43 billion acquisition of WarnerMedia from AT&T to create Warner Bros. Discovery during a special meeting of stockholders on Friday, marking one of the final formal steps before the transaction can close.
The deal, a spinoff of WarnerMedia from AT&T, is expected to be completed early in Q2, with insiders telling Variety the estimated date is between April 11-28. The merger has already received approval from the U.S. Department of Justice and the boards of directors of both AT&T and Discovery.
WarnerMedia owns HBO, HBO Max, CNN, Warner Bros., DC Films, New Line Cinema, TBS, TNT, TruTV, Cartoon Network/Adult Swim, Turner Sports and Rooster Teeth, among other brands, and is part owner of the CW Network along with Paramount. Discovery is the parent of Discovery Plus, Discovery Channel, HGTV, Food Network, TLC, Investigation Discovery, Travel Channel, Turbo/Velocity, Animal Planet, Science Channel and OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network).
Discovery chief David Zaslav will serve as president and CEO of the newly merged company, Warner Bros. Discovery, with WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar expected to exit.
