Ant McPartlin has said he and Declan Donnelly were worried they were going to "bankrupt ITV" with their new game show.
Limitless Win sees contestants compete for the world's first unlimited jackpot.
Five hour-long episodes will air on Saturday nights, with the channel describing the show as "packed with drama, jeopardy and real emotion".
McPartlin told the PA news agency: "We did worry that we were going to bankrupt ITV."
Donnelly quipped they would have to call fellow TV presenter Andi Peters, known for running cash competitions on ITV's morning programmes, for "more prize money".
Asked what makes their show stand out, McPartlin said: "I think ours is different because the answer to every question is a number, and it's very simple, and everyone can play along.
"You don't have to be the brains of Britain. And with other quiz shows, suddenly when you get into very serious money, the answers become impossible to play along with, but with this you can have a stab at every one.
"And what makes it different is it's the world's first limitless jackpot. That's the selling point for us, and that's what hooked us in, is the fact there's no top prize, and if you played this game right, you could win millions upon millions of pounds."
Another late-night talk show — this time CBS’ Late Late Show With James Corden — will go on a short hiatus, following Corden’s positive COVID-19 test result.
“I just tested positive for COVID-19. I’m fully vaccinated, boosted and because of this am fortunate enough to say I feel completely fine,” the host shared in an Instagram post on Thursday. “The show will be off the air for the next few days. Stay safe everyone.”
A rep for The Late Late Show confirms to TVLine that repeats will air tonight through Monday, Jan. 17, with plans to resume new episodes on Tuesday, Jan. 18. Tonight’s installment — which originally aired Nov. 18, 2021 — features actress Salma Hayek and country singer Keith Urban.
The Late Late Show is the second late-night series to take a COVID-caused break: NBC’s Late Night With Seth Meyers is also currently on hiatus after Meyers announced earlier this week that he had contracted the virus. The fast-moving Omicron variant of the coronavirus has also impacted production of several primetime series, including NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles (the latter of which won’t resume filming until February), Chicago Fire and a handful of ABC series, Grey’s Anatomy among them.

The Queen of American “Survivor,” Sandra Diaz-Twine, is about to take her skills down under. In a recent trailer for the upcoming “Australian Survivor: Blood vs. Water,” which debuts January 31 on Network 10, the reality TV show’s first two-time winner ever introduces viewers to her daughter, Alanna “Nina” Twine. Sandra teases that Nina is her “secret weapon,” warning, “Y’all better look out, ’cause I taught her well.” Watch the video trailer above.
Don’t be confused — this is not the new American season. That 42nd installment, hosted once again by Jeff Probst and filmed in Fiji, is set for a March 9 premiere on CBS. (Read everything to know about “Survivor 42.”) Instead, Sandra will be joining the Aussie-based format, which is hosted by Jonathan LaPaglia and filmed in Charters Towers, Queensland. The “Blood vs. Water” twist forces loved ones to compete against each other on opposite tribes. It’s based on America’s 27th and 29th seasons of the same subtitle.
Sandra won her two American crowns on “Pearl Islands” (Season 7) and “Heroes vs. Villains” (Season 20). The self-appointed Queen returned to play again in “Game Changers” (Season 34) and “Winners at War” (Season 40), but she was voted out both times. She also served as a mentor on “Island of the Idols” (Season 39) alongside Rob Mariano.
Other contestants for “Australian Survivor: Blood vs. Water” include Samantha Gash and Mark Wales, both of whom competed on the 2017 Australian version, and former NRL player Michael Crocker and sister-in-law Chrissy Zaremba.
During the third episode of “Winners at War,” Sandra shocked audiences when she announced her retirement, declaring, “Here I am for the fifth time, and once this is over I’m retiring from the game. So this season I’m going to switch gears. I want to prove my word to this tribe.” She was voted out soon after and sent to Extinction Island, where she raised the white mast in defeat and left the island voluntarily. Now, it looks as though Sandra meant she was strictly retiring from the American version of “Survivor.”

Former Los Angeles Lakers guard and current South Bay Lakers player Andre Ingram racked up some significant cash winnings on Wheel of Fortune.
Ingram was a guest on Friday’s Disney Secret Santa edition of the show, where he proved to be a natural at guessing word clues. While he failed to solve the game’s final puzzle, Ingram still walked away with an impressive $31,750. His winnings will be matched for a Wheel Watchers Club member at home.
Speaking after the episode, Ingram said he was “probably more nervous” doing Wheel of Fortune than playing basketball. “You know, basketball, you’re so used to it. I’ve been doing it for years. This is like, you know, once in a lifetime.”
Ingram, a career G-Leaguer, who has played 13 seasons of professional basketball, told the Richmond Times-Dispatch that he made sure to watch Wheel every night alongside his training after the COVID-19 pandemic forced the G-League to shut down. Eventually, he decided to audition.
“We were just watching one day and saw they were still holding auditions,” Ingram said. “I was like, ‘man, we’re not going anywhere any time soon. Why not?'”
Ingram is currently hoping to get called back up to the NBA. He had previously played two games for the LA Lakers, making an inspirational debut at 32-years-old when he scored 19 points on eight shots.
Correction: A previous version of this article said that Ingram was donating his winnings to a fan at home. He will actually keep the money. Wheel will award a matching prize to the winning SPIN ID winner if they claim the prize.
Then you know it's time for Livewire! Until next time, play on playas.
