Celebrate the 2021 holiday season in the glow of CBS' expansive lineup of festive original programming, on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+. New CBS Originals include two new yuletide movies; mega concert specials featuring Adele, Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga; the Kennedy Center Honors; and the live New Year's Eve bash in Nashville. Also, enjoy long-standing seasonal family traditions with animated friends Rudolph, Frosty, Robbie and Santa Claus.
THE PRICE IS RIGHT AT NIGHT (December 22, 8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT): Drew Carey hosts a special holly-jolly-themed primetime episode where families come on down to the iconic game show stage and play for festive prizes. Plus, the show highlights pet adoption when they showcase animals looking for their fur-ever homes this holiday season.

Redbox Nov. 1 announced a content deal with television producer Fremantle to further accelerate the company’s free ad-supported streaming service. The pact includes access to “Buzzr,” “The Price Is Right: The Barker Era” and the “Baywatch” channel.
“Our partnership with Fremantle will add tremendous value to our free streaming service,” Chris Yates, GM, Redbox On Demand, said in a statement.
Mark Deetjen, EVP of global channels at Fremantle, heralded Redbox as an “innovator” since its inception as a kiosk vendor and current growth in the streaming space “At Fremantle we’re on a journey to continue growing our audiences and deliver our great shows via partners who offer the latest content delivery methods,” said Deetjen.
The channels include:
- Buzzr, which features more than 40,000 game show episodes, which are shown around the clock. Titles include “Match Game,” where host Gene Rayburn is the ringmaster to a mad-capped panel of celebrity guests; “Whew!,” a limited-run quiz show hosted by the late Tom Kennedy featuring a wacky bonus round known as the “Gauntlet of Villains”; as well as famed titles “Family Feud,” “To Tell the Truth,” “Password,” “Press Your Luck,” “Blockbusters” and “Card Sharks.”
- The Price Is Right: The Barker Era celebrates veteran game show host Bob Barker. Having spent 35 years as the host of television’s longest running game show, Barker was the recipient of 19 Daytime Emmy Awards and also received an Emmy Award for Lifetime Achievement in 1999. The channel features hundreds of episodes from the 80’s all hosted by Barker. These game show episodes have not been on television since their original air date – nearly 40 years ago.
- The Baywatch channel features the first five seasons, with new seasons switching in every quarter, including “Baywatch: Hawaii.”.

FOX is putting a fresh twist on one of the most watched dating shows in reality history with JOE MILLIONAIRE: FOR RICHER OR POORER, it was announced today by Rob Wade, President, Alternative Entertainment & Specials, FOX Entertainment. From FOX Alternative Entertainment and produced by SallyAnn Salsano of 495 Productions ("Jersey Shore," "Paradise Hotel," "Peace of Mind with Taraji"), JOE MILLIONAIRE: FOR RICHER OR POORER is a new take on the original JOE MILLIONAIRE dating series that took the world by storm in 2003. The new series features two incredible single men... with one HUGE difference. One's a millionaire, and the other is definitely NOT. The series is set to debut January 2022 on FOX.
"This revival of JOE MILLIONAIRE represents a potent combination: one of the most innovative and popular dating shows of all time with SallyAnn Salsano, who ranks among the most fearless producers in the business," said Wade. "I've long admired JOE MILLIONAIRE for its daring premise, and since the moment I joined FOX, I've wanted to bring it back in the spotlight in a whole new way for both new viewers and fans of the original."
A twist on the original unscripted FOX dating series that turned reality television on its head, JOE MILLIONAIRE: FOR RICHER OR POORER will feature two single men - one is a millionaire, and the other is an "average Joe" with little to his name. Twenty women will date both of them, but they will have no idea which Joe is rich. As love connections are made and each guy finds his perfect match, the women must ask themselves what is more important... Love or Money?
The original "Joe Millionaire" debuted in 2003, marking the highest-rated and most-watched debut season for an unscripted series of the past 20 years. The Season One finale episode remains the highest-rated and most-watched unscripted entertainment series telecast of the past two decades (excluding post-NFL).
JOE MILLIONAIRE: FOR RICHER OR POORER comes from FOX Alternative Entertainment and is executive-produced by SallyAnn Salsano and Sarah Howell ("Jersey Shore Family Vacation," "Double Shot at Love with DJ Pauly D & Vinny"). FOX Alternative Entertainment (FAE), FOX Entertainment's in-house unscripted studio, and Wonwoo Park, creator of the hit international format THE MASKED SINGER, have entered into an exclusive first-look development deal, it was announced today by Allison Wallach, Executive Vice President, Head of FOX Alternative Entertainment, and Park.
Under terms of the agreement, FAE and Park's Seoul-based production company, dI turn, will jointly develop series for global territories and the American market. The two companies are currently developing the international format for the hit Korean talent-competition series "Lotto Singer," in which viewers can win cash prizes by correctly betting on contestants' performances. Created by Park, and from Seoul Broadcasting System's content hub FormatEast, "Lotto Singer" aired on MBN last year, when it registered the network's highest viewer rating of 5.2%.
"Thanks to the creative genius and vision of Wonwoo Park, the success of THE MASKED SINGER and the impact it has had on FOX and numerous other networks throughout the world cannot be understated," said Wallach. "Wonwoo's ability to identify and develop concepts that are unique in premise and universal in appeal makes him one of the most innovative producers in the business, and we are excited to see where this partnership will take us."
Added Park, "Korea had long been an unnoticed market, but over the last few years formats such as "The King of Masked Singer" have been sold all over the world. Many K-POP singers are massively popular around the world, and Korean production companies clearly have the ability to produce high-efficiency programming. I expect this collaboration with FOX to create more hits; and our team here at dI turn is ready."
Park created THE MASKED SINGER, which is currently in its sixth season on FOX and the United States' #1 primetime entertainment series. Since its 2019 premiere in the U.S., THE MASKED SINGER has been formatted in more than 60 countries, including the United Kingdom, Mexico, Germany, Australia, Brazil, Israel, Norway, Italy and others.
Park is CEO of dI turn and has been a series writer, creator and producer since 1997. In addition to The King of Masked Singer, his credits include CJ Entertainment & Media's "Top Gear Korea," "Mama" and "The Song Was Born"; "Million Seller," "The Hit" and "Singing Battle" for KBS; and "My Ranking" and "Dancing in the Box."

Longtime Jeopardy! champion Ken Jennings returned for another guest host stint on the iconic quiz show on November 8, the first anniversary of original host Alex Trebek’s passing. However, Jennings wasn’t aware his first episode back would coincide with the special date, making his return all the more bittersweet.
“Apparently, everyone was aware that we were going to air [my first episode] on the anniversary and nobody told me,” Jennings said in an interview with USA Today. “They didn’t want to put that in my head. So, I was not told until after that it was the Nov. 8 show.”
Because of this, the episode did not mention the date’s significance, given its advanced filming, but did end with a special credits message similar to that of previous episodes, reading “Forever in our Hearts. Always our Inspiration.”
Despite being left in the dark on his first episode’s air date, Jennings felt Trebek’s presence while filming the episode, as he wore a pair of the host’s cuff links gifted to him by his wife, Jean. He described receiving the gift in a video on the show’s social media networks, saying, “The first day I came in to guest host was just a few weeks after Alex had passed and it was a really rough time. I got to the studio and one of the producers handed me a little box and Alex’s wife Jean had given me a pair of his cuff links that he had worn on the show.”
Jennings was the first in a long lineup of guest hosts following Trebek’s final episodes, and he certainly felt the pressure of filling in the legendary host’s shoes. “I knew that it was going to be a very difficult task … much less the idea that you’re trying to step into the shoes of Alex Trebek, which is impossible. This time, we’re kind of a year removed or more from all that, so I’ve had every possible emotion now related to ‘Jeopardy!’”
He and frequent guest host Mayim Bialik will continue to trade off hosting duties through the end of the year as the search for a permanent host continues.

I would like to have your attention to the final story: The CW has garnered the rights to recreate a remake of The Lawrence Welk Show in an attempt to modernise viewers of the CW and to have many more eyeballs to the network. The longtime PBS staple has had reruns for years since 1987 and is working on a reboot in which the orchestra will be more like a big band and much mroe like a rock band. The announcemnt came from Variety last month because most people would expect a lite touch of today's hits and.............
