Colbi King: From coast to coast and around the world, welcome to....

Now, America's favorite contestant, Pierre Kelly!

Me:Welcome everybody to Game Show Live! where we get lit and get involved. Let's kick it off with......

The Double Toasted opening toss up story.

Picture it in your head. It's September of 1991, and this program will make it's 2nd season under a new format.

Are you with me so far? Okay. Now see what the influences of it comes from. #1.......

#2........

And #3.

When we put it all together, we get.....................................

30 years ago, Video Power turned itself from a live action/cartoon hybrid to a game show. And it took place in NYC in the same studio where Sesame Street is still taped today among other shows like The Cosby Show. But how did it all happen? Well, it happened one summer in 1991 in NYC and kids from all over the tri state area tried out for a syndicated game show. The contestants were chosen from the studio audience prior to airtime to play the game. Johnny Arcade was played by Stivi Paskoski who we later know him as Pete Mcgonagle on Brotherhood. He Might've been a teenager once this show aired. Terry Lee Torok was your side kick to the madness and as a matter of fact, he had a bit of an advantage to Johnny's hilarity. Steve Treccase added some color to the musical side of the program to give these kids a party they'll never forget. After we get some tips and tricks for popular games, Terry picks these 4 audience members to fire away for a question JOhnny doesn't know about. After they're picked, it's showtime. the 4 kids played the game of the day or week depending on what the producers considered for a short amnount of time leaving 2 to answer trivia questions for points and later on, a 5th for a possible prize. The final 2 will play the last game of the day and in 61 seconds becomes the deciding factor where only one will ride to the power mall getting every video game, bicycle, Eastpak bag, big boxes and a secret game for a major prize in sight hoping you can automatically go to the Friday finale and end up a step closer to $10,000 for college money, plus a trip to Universal Studios Hollywood by season's end. Even somebody by the name of Tara Purswani was on the show and here's what she said.............

He kept calling me lady, which was sweet because I was obviously outnumbered by boys. Maybe they didn't get girls much. My best (girl) friend was on another episode and got second place.

He was actually talking about Johnny Arcade. And despite the internet saying he's on Coke, which is a drug, she also says this..............

I didn't know what coke was back then, but I sure thought he was unusually high-energy! I was already nervous being on TV and Johny Arcade made me all the more jittery. Then again, we were crushing on him, which was maybe 10% reason for auditioning, the other 90% was our love of video games.

Hmm. Interesting. But we found a contestant by the name of Mark joining us now on Microsoft Zune to give us the secrets of the show. Mark, thank you for joining us here on the program. You were on the show for Mega Man week. We saw you crush the competition in the video we researched before the program. Were there any controversies going on with it?

Nothing too scandalous or thrilling I'm afraid - and people always ask about whether the hosts were on anything and the answer is not that I'm aware of - haha, but probably the things that surprise people most when I tell them are: 1) Contestants were not randomly selected from the audience. We all knew we were there to be contestants. We were selected ahead of time, received letters in the mail about it, were prepped at the studio, etc. 2) The questions the contestants read in the beginning were all prewritten for us, and we had to memorize them. 3) Johnny Arcade read prewritten answers to the questions from a teleprompter. I don't think he was much into video games, actually. 4) The game boxes in the "mall" at the end of each show were all empty, and prizes were shipped to our homes a few months later. 5) In searching for the secret prize in the mall, the audience was supposed to yell if you were hot or cold depending on how close you were to finding it. But some kids here yelled in tandem for me to look in the basketball hoop for the game that won me the Neo Geo. 6) More retakes were done than most people might think for a game show. There could be some random technical issue or someone had a coughing fit, or whatever. 7) The show was recorded in Kaufman-Astoria Studios in Queens, NY, which is also where The Cosby Show was filmed. 8) Multiple shows were recorded in one day. If you were there to record more than one show in one day, they had you change shirts so it didn't look like you were in the same clothes for multiple days.

You learn something everyday, Mark thank you for joining us here.

So what did we all learn today? Playing a lot of video games meant this show was suitable for children .All early 90's children. Later on, we'll show you the hilarity that Johnny Arcade withstood in our Warp Ahead Segment.

Pressing pause for a commercial. After the unpause......

Jojo Siwa, your life is calling. Game Show Live! returns in about 41 seconds. Give or take 10. I'll wait................

(fade to break)

Colbi: Some members of our viewing audience will receive......

A bunch of cards thanks to LivePlay Bingo. If Bingo Blitz were actually a TV channel, you'd play right along with it because LivePlay Bingo has cards for you to fill in and in fact, you can have 4 cards while you play along with the hosts. So much fun. Now back to a guy who lives Lingo, eats Wendys chilli with Slingo and sleeps until he wakes up to the sounds of Ringo.....Pierre Kelly!

Are you ready for a first?

JoJo Siwa‘s upcoming stint on Dancing With the Stars will make series history, as she’ll be part of the show’s first-ever same-sex couple.

As confirmed by DWTS EP Andrew Llinares during the show’s Television Critics Association press tour panel on Thursday, Siwa will be paired with a female professional partner for the duration of her time on Season 30. Her partner won’t be revealed until the Sept. 20 season premiere (ABC, 8/7c), but Siwa said she’d love to work with DWTS veterans Lindsay Arnold, Jenna Johnson or Britt Stewart in particular.

Siwa shared that when ABC reached out to her team via email about competing on Season 30, Dancing With the Stars‘ casting coordinators asked if Siwa wanted a male or female partner, and she opted for the latter.

“It’s going to be tricky, but it’s going to give so much to people out there — people of the LGBTQ community, everyone,” said Siwa, who came out as pansexual in April. “I want to make it OK for the people who come after me. No matter what [my girlfriend and I] are feeling, think about how normal we’re making things for the kids that are younger than us who are feeling these things.

“It breaks a wall that’s never been broken down before,” Siwa added. “Not only do I get to share that you love who you want to love, but you also get to dance with who you want to dance with.”

Siwa’s casting on Season 30 was announced earlier Thursday, as was the addition of Olympic gymnast Suni Lee. The remaining 13 competitors will be announced on Good Morning America‘s broadcast on Wednesday, Sept. 8.

Shark Tank will feature four new guest sharks when ABC’s freshly Emmy-nominated unscripted series returns for its 13th season in October, the network revealed Thursday during its virtual TCA presentations.

Kevin Hart, whose entertainment companies include HartBeat Productions and comedy brand Laugh Out Loud, will swim into the tank for the first time, joined by Emma Grede, CEO and co-founder with Khloe Kardashian of Good American and founding partner of SKIMS with Kim Kardashian; Peter Jones, an original Dragon on the BBC’s Dragons’ Den; and Nextdoor co-founder Nirav Tolia.

Each will appear individually on the show’s panel throughout the upcoming season alongside staple sharks Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran, Lori Greiner, Robert Herjavec, Daymond John and Kevin O’Leary.

ABC also said that Kind founder and executive chairman Daniel Lubetzky will also return this season.

Shark Tank, produced by MGM and Sony Pictures Television, is coming off its most-watched season in three years. That earned it three Emmy nominations: for Structured Reality Program, Host, and Casting for a Reality Program. It previously won the Emmy in the Structured Reality category in four consecutive seasons from 2014-17.

Here's something from Netflix:

Netflix has updated on release plans for Too Hot To Handle season three and revealed three new UK unscripted shows during the Edinburgh TV Festival. The new shows comprise “a monstrous new VFX dance competition that gives talented budding dancers a chance to perform like no one’s watching, a reality series that puts a group of failure-to-launch youngsters through their paces in a wilderness camp, and a dating show with a seriously uncomfortable twist.”

The streamer also updated on hit reality show Too Hot To Handle, revealing that the third season will launch early in the new year.

Ben Kelly, Manager, Unscripted Series, UK, and Daisy Lilley, Manager, Unscripted Series, UK, stated: “Over our past couple of years at Netflix, we have been thrilled by the ideas pitched to us from production companies in the UK; ideas that are fresh, thought-provoking and playful, a perfect combination for our unscripted slate. We look for series that have a unique take on a familiar concept and put innovative twists on shows that you wouldn’t find anywhere else, so that we can deliver something truly original.”

During the Edinburgh session Lilley described the kind of content the team is after: “Authenticity at their heart, warm, humorous, thought-provoking, quite optimistic…” Kelly added: “We believe there is an amazing community of TV makers and developers in this country and we want to tap into that. We feel confident about the talent here. There is a history of TV makers in this country conditioned to make formats that really travel, that become global ideas, global hits, and that is the prize.”

Netflix’s three new reality and entertainment series (with Netflix synopses):
- SNOWFLAKE MOUNTAIN: Snowflake Mountain is a funny, warm-hearted reality show which takes a bunch of clueless kidults who aren’t yet living to their full potential and puts them through their paces at a wilderness survival retreat to try and kickstart them into standing on their own two feet. The back-to-basics camp is a rude awakening to just how pampered their lives have been so far. At stake is a transformative cash prize for the lucky winner. There’s no running water, no parents to wait on them, and, worst of all, no Wi-Fi. But, by connecting to nature, they’ll learn to graduate as fully-functioning adults. The series, which was filmed in the Lake District (North West England), features an international cast. Production company: Naked (a Fremantle label) Executive Producers: Cal Turner and Jo Harcourt-Smith Series Producers: Andy Cullen, Nick Walker, Cherry Sandhu
- DANCE MONSTERS: Dance Monsters is a large-scale dancing competition with a monster twist, giving a colorful global stage to people passionate about dance, as they compete in a way they’ve never been able to before. Through the power of VFX, live motion capture and facial recognition, competitors will transform into lovable and fantastical dance monsters that come to life in front of an expert panel of judges and a live studio audience. It’s hugely ambitious, with a heartfelt journey at its core as we see what happens when you really can dance like no one’s watching. For their time on stage they get to escape reality, become something truly extraordinary and stand out from the crowd. Recorded in Hampshire, UK. Production company: Lime Pictures Executive producers: Sarah Tyekiff, Andrew Jackman and Tamsin Dodgson.
- DATED AND RELATED: Imagine having to think about your sibling dating – how they flirt, how they treat their partners, and what their signature moves are. In this brand-new reality dating series, pairs of siblings will be seeing each other’s love life up close and personal as they search for ‘the one’ together. Having the person who knows you better than anyone should help you navigate the tricky world of dating. But will they act as the ultimate wingman and help you find love? Or scupper your plans and call you out on all your bullsh*t? Either way it might just be Awkward. As. Hell. Filmed in France with an international cast. Production company: Great Scott Media and Main Event Media (All3Media labels) Executive Producers For Great Scott Media: Leon Wilson, Ed Sleeman and Saul Fearnley For Main Event Media: Jimmy Fox (EP) and Emily Bon (co-EP).

Now comes a segment that takes a bronchoscopy device and won't tell you about it.................

http://tpirepguide.com/qwizx/gssfx/usa/blockbwhitering.wav

Buzz-GSN where we ask you guys on the Game Show Network Facebook page anything and everything.

https://youtu.be/yj0iG5UN2-E

We're starting with Garry Denny.

Now that Sony TV has fired Mike Richards for his past actions is GSN still comfortable with airing the umpteenth repeat of Pyramid weekday mornings?

maybe. Unless Cram, Friend or Foe or Idiotest tries to take it over or something. Next up, Candace Fish.

Game Show Network on weekends stinks. No Deal or No deal anymore, no Common Knowledge, no Cash Cab, and no People Puzzler. Far too much America Says with outdated host, too much Master Minds with Master Mind always winning and outdated reruns on Sunday of Chain Reaction. Not watching anymore..

I think the Buzzr recovery clinic is her next stop. I heard Whew! reruns will be a welcome relief to her. Next, Brior Stack Sweeney.

love gsn but whem they show the same commercial 4 times, i go ballistic! I wouldn't buy product if i was paid!!

Heck, buzzr airs commercials that'll make you buy for something in between the classics. Otherwise, stare at the placeholder if you're streaming somewhere.......

We have Eliane Johnson on next...........

I have been grieving for the last two days. I woke up on Thursday to learn that they remove this channel from my cable package. In June I received a cable increase 🙁 and not they took away one of my favorite channels. I keep clicking on 161 and it is no longer. Bummed

You might as well stick to Buzzr. Next, Kandace Har.

“The dangerous side about the crack that you just took is that not everyone is like you. But everyone can collect unemployment, which is why we have so many people on unemployment right now. Which is why we have so many people on food stamps. Because what if you got unemployment and food stamps? You’d be like, ‘Good lord, I’m making—.’ You know what I’m saying?” Richards reportedly told her. “Do you feel dirty? Seriously, and I’m not trying to be mean. Do you feel a little dirty?”
Oh, so this is who Jeopardy! chose? Not to mention he's been over at Game Show Network for years.
Mkay.

Well next week, we'll discuss why Mike Richards is not a producer anymore. I wonder why Divided was his most recent at the network. Mark Goodall to clean this up..............

The only reason we got this channel was to watch the Cash Cab reruns on Saturday and Sunday. Chain Reaction is more prefab crap.

But the newer CR was more nicer.

Time for a Mistplay Game Break. When the Neo Geo system hit North American markets in 1991, how much did it cost?

Think on that after a Pandora song break from a band caled Harlequin Jones. And no, Harley Quinn isn't the lead singer, but somebody else is. Jut watch.

But outside this song break is the answer. If you got a holiday bonus at work, you got the Neo Geo thing for about.....................................................

$399 bucks. Uh, no thank you. I'll have the Genesis instead.

What happens when a local Kentucky TV duo get in their cars and act goofy, nuts, silly, or just plain wacky? well, Lee & Hayley have the source and we got it all in: Driving Me Crazy!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Earlier in the blog, we told you about Video power's 2nd season turning 30 and Johnny Arcade was just being a game show host? Or was he? Find out in the Game Show Live!...............

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That's it for this week. Today's consolation prize is tickets to see Jake Paul take on one of the robots from Real Steel. to get revenge after what happened this weekend. No, really......

Thanks for making Game Show Live! your destination, if you'd like, please contact me........

Can you not interrupt? I was going to end the program. Jeez.

Don't forget to email me at kellypierre8@gmail.comcoppockonsports@yahoo.com, Pierre  Kelly on FB and @Johnny_Arcade on twitter. Also I'm on Snapchat as MisterGSN and Instagram as MrJackbox. We will return next Wednesday, and until we return, Play on playas.
