Nominations for the 73nd Primetime Emmy Awards were announced on Tuesday by Emmy winners Ron Cephas Jones (This Is Us) and his daughter Jasmine Cephas Jones (#FreeRayshawn).

The Crown and The Mandalorian this year tied for the most nominations, with 24 each, followed by WandaVision (23), The Handmaid’s Tale (21), Saturday Night Live (21), Ted Lasso (20), Lovecraft Country (18), The Queen’s Gambit (18) and Mare of Easttown (16).

By outlet, HBO/HBO Max amassed 130 total nods to edge out 2020 champ Netflix’s 129; rounding out the Top 5 are Disney+ (with 71), NBC (46) and Apple TV+ (34).

Broadcast-TV, which increasingly struggles to garner awards-show kudos, collected its fewest nominations in… well, a while, totalling 96 versus last year’s 121.

This year’s ceremony will be held on Sunday, Sept. 19 at the Microsoft Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, and hosted for CBS by The Neighborhood‘s Cedric the Entertainer. Unlike 2020’s largely virtual, mid-pandemic event (which is perhaps best/only remembered for Jennifer Aniston putting out a wastebasket fire), this year’s will feature a limited audience of nominees and their guests.

Playtech has expanded its gameshow series of live dealer titles with the launch of The Money Drop Live in partnership with Banijay Brands.

Based on the iconic Banijay-owned brand, The Money Drop Live brings all the appeal of the popular TV series, which was shown in the UK as The Million Pound Drop and later The £100k Drop and hosted by Davina McCall.

The main game sees a live dealer spin a wheel of chance featuring various multipliers up to a maximum of 5000x. Any multiplier other than 8x triggers the Drop Zones game, which follows the wider brand’s original format, with players choosing how to split their money in the hope of a big win. One of the four Drop Zones is always safe, guaranteeing winnings for a player. If the wheel lands on 8x, the Quick Drop game is triggered, where players must place everything in one Zone for an exciting ‘all or nothing’ gamble.

Additionally, the Card Clash bonus game gives players the chance to earn multiplier-boosted wins, based on a simple ‘higher or lower?’ format.

“The Money Drop Live has everything - an exciting, engaging format, a brand with international appeal, and the kind of experience-led gameplay that typifies Playtech Live Casino,” said Playtech Live head of innovation Kevin Kilminster. “We’ve seen a major increase in the popularity of game show style formats and presentation in recent years, and our collaboration with Banijay Brands - a global leader in this field - creates a fantastic opportunity to bring the excitement of some of the world’s best-loved brands to live gaming.”

The launch of The Money Drop Live follows last year's release of Deal or No Deal - The Big Draw.

“We are delighted to further our partnership with Playtech to deliver more great gaming from Banijay’s extensive catalogue of acclaimed formats,” said Banijay Brands commercial director of gaming & gambling Lex Scott. “The Money Drop is a globally recognised brand and by combining the iconic gameplay with Playtech’s innovative live series, we are delivering players a world-class live gaming experience.”.

Six ice cream masters from across the country have been hand-picked for a once in a lifetime opportunity: to create an original Ben & Jerry's ice cream flavor of their own. Ben & Jerry's: Clash of the Cones, a new primetime competition, premieres with a special 90-minute episode on Monday, August 16th at 9pm ET/PT on Food Network and discovery+.

Over four episodes, host Molly Yeh challenges the ice cream makers to capture the essence of a celebrity or pop culture icon in a new and innovative ice cream flavor, inspired by the direction given from the celebrity themselves. In each episode, the competitors use a specially constructed ice cream lab on the Ben & Jerry's factory grounds in Waterbury, Vermont. After concocting their creations, the competitors hit the streets to have the public vote their favorite flavor, with the winner earning immunity from elimination. Judges Jet and Ali Tila and Ben & Jerry's Flavor Guru Chris Rivard determine which competitor was the least successful, sending that ice cream maker home and that flavor to the infamous Ben & Jerry's Flavor Graveyard.

"Viewers are in for an imaginative and entertaining ride, watching along as these gifted ice cream makers create original Ben & Jerry's flavors, based on inspiration from some of the biggest stars on the planet in food, music, and film. This is the perfect show for the entire family to gather around and watch this summer," said Courtney White, President, Food Network and Cooking Channel.

Celebrity inspirations include hip-hop icon and actor Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Food Network's Duff Goldman and Buddy Valastro, and actor Kevin Bacon. The ice cream makers compete for a chance to impress Ben & Jerry's co-founders Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield for the grand prize of $20,000 - the exact amount Ben and Jerry hoped to make in their first year of business. The winner will also have the opportunity to have their flavor sampled by fans at an event in their hometown. Fans can view the series on Food Network and stream on discovery+ with new episodes available weekly, beginning August 16th.

"We've made a few pints over the last 40 years," said Ben & Jerry's co-founder Ben Cohen. "We're excited to see what these talented competitors come up with, keeping true to the euphoric chunks and swirls Ben & Jerry's is known for," added co-founder Jerry Greenfield. "It's going to be great!"

Netflix has lined up a three-episode “Love Is Blind” reunion to give an update on the couples and singles from Season 1, the streamer announced Thursday. Titled “Love Is Blind: After the Altar,” the three new episodes will see (almost) the entire Season 1 cast reconvene for an anniversary party to celebrate Amber and Barnett and Lauren and Cameron.

Per Netflix, “For three episodes, catch up with your favorite couples and singles as they settle back into their daily lives in Atlanta. How will Amber and Barnett feel about seeing Jessica? Will Diamond and Carlton ever make amends? Who might make a surprise appearance? And who won’t even show up for the party because of all the drama that’s happened in the past two years? Ultimately, when it comes to love, the experiment never ends.”

Forget the honeymoon, we go to a Mistplay Game Break. Here's a Body Language puzzle from 1985 to look at.

It'll be a sweet deal after this Pandora song break from Amy Castle. Why did we pick her? Well, she's been known on the internet for this ditty:

She was only 3 years old when it came out and it blew up and so far, 28 million views have been racking up, but she's got a new version of that same exact song? Would you like to hear it? Okay.

But you know what else is a term of endearment? The answer to this puzzle:

Also fills in part of a title of a sitcom that ran from 1991-92 believe ot or not called.......

I apologize for sticking it in your head. Also, go rent Pleasantville from 1998 starring Reese Whitherspoon on Vudu, Google TV & Movies, Youtube or anywhere else and tell me in the comments about it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And now, Nick DiRamio's streaming movie reviews. Where we don't have enough to spend $10 to go see a movie yet intstead stay home and watch terrible low budget stuff. Here's.......................Nick!

Reboots are somwehat terrible. Sex and The City is just revived as "And Just Like That...." I think Rob of SMRT Trivia says it when time is expired on a question. The Celebrity Dating Game feels more corny but steals something from "The Masked Singer." Rugrats had just gone CGI. How many more of those are we going to have? But originals still remain well in their hearts whether short lived, cult classics or stuff of legends. Let's rewind the memories in the Game Show Live!..........
