The Double Toasted opening toss up story.
Writer, producer, actor and comedian Cristela Alonzo ("Cristela," "Cars 3") is set to host The CW's new fall series LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE, slated to debut on Sunday, October 10 (8:00-9:00pm ET/PT).
"Having grown up on 90's pop culture and actually being a fan of the original LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE, I am thrilled to be hosting the new updated version of the show," said Alonzo. "The biggest challenge for me on this show will be trying to simultaneously host it and contain my geeked-out excitement at the same time."
"When we decided to revisit LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE, we wanted a host with stature who also had the humor of a stand-up and the energy of a camp counselor," said Scott A. Stone, Creator and Executive Producer. "That's Cristela Alonzo, she's perfect!"
Alonzo made history in 2014 when she became the first Latina to create, produce and star in her own network sitcom, "Cristela," for ABC. During that same year, she split her time between Los Angeles and New York City to serve as one of ABC's favorite guest hosts on their hit daytime talk show, "The View." In 2017, Alonzo made history again when she became the first Latina lead in a Disney Pixar film when she voiced the part of Cruz Ramirez in "Cars 3." Her first stand-up special, "Lower Classy," is currently streaming on Netflix. Alonzo's memoir, "Music to My Years," was released in October of 2019 by Atria Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster.
Additionally, Alonzo focuses on advocacy work, fighting for issues such as immigration, universal healthcare and lower income communities. She works with numerous organizations including Special Olympics Texas and Planned Parenthood, and is also board member of LUPE (La Union del Pueblo Entero) and an advisory board member for Define American. Alonzo is repped by WME, Artists First and Jackoway Austen Tyerman Wertheimer Mandelbaum Morris Bernstein Trattner & Klein.

If the WWE, AEW, Impact Wrestling and ROH wanted a much more distant cousin to the United Wrestling Network, then it's this game. But it's not what you call wrestling using some swping device or pick a card thing, it's actually a slingshot thing. Launch those wrestlers and watch the action unfold right before your eyes. collect wrestlers, train them in the gym to make them look stronger and more beefy. Now you take them on the road and see how well you use weapons and knock those opponents out of the ring. I love this game so much, it's the perfect way to kill time while watching your favorite wrestling programs on TV. Download it today on Apple or ANdroid.

Here's......Another one.
TBS has greenlit a second season of its extreme talent competition series, "Go-Big Show," which begins production this August in Georgia. Grammy Award-winning producer and artist, DJ Khaled has been confirmed to join the celebrity judging panel for season two alongside Rosario Dawson, Jennifer Nettles, Cody Rhodes and host Bert Kreischer. "Go-Big Show" is produced by Propagate and Boat Rocker Studios, through Matador Content.
The 10-episode, hour-long series will go bigger next season and feature some of the most extreme and death defying acts from around the country. "Go-Big Show" currently ranks as the #3 Cable Comedy, reaching more than 34 million viewers.
"Go-Big Show" showcases supersized talents on a scale never before seen on television. The debut season featured monster trucks, alligator trainers, stunt archery and other radical feats; the program celebrates daring acts alongside personal, behind-the-scenes stories from the challengers as they battle head-to-head to impress the judges and advance toward the finale's ultimate $100,000 prize.
"When you find a show and personalities that come together so authentically and bring joy and wow to an audience, you go big with your commitment to it," said Brett Weitz, General Manager, TBS, TNT and truTV. "Viewers turned in week after week to see both what amazing acts our contestants could perform and what our judges reactions would be. We are committed to bringing this type of television to our fans for years to come."
"DJ Khaled is a larger than life personality, so of course Khaled was our only option to go even bigger this season," said Corie Henson, EVP and head of unscripted programming for TBS, TNT and truTV. "His energy is absolutely infectious and authentic. These contestants are the very best at what they do, and no one understands that kind of passion better than Khaled."

You'll want to phone a friend: South Africa is getting a 5th season of the game show, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?
After 17 years, M-Net is warming up the once-hot international game show format now licensed by Sony Pictures Television. Red Pepper Pictures is taking over from Rapid Blue to produce an Afrikaans version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, entitled Wie Word 'n Miljoenêr? for kykNET.
The South African version ran for four seasons between 1999 and 2005, first on M-Net and later jumping to SABC3, with Jeremy Maggs as the quiz host. A possible Afrikaans version that was eventually planned and then scuppered is now finally going into production, similar to the single Afrikaans season of Idols that kykNET did in 2006.
People who want to enter Wie Word 'n Miljoenêr? can do so on kykNET's website, with a second round of multiple-choice test auditions that will be done over Zoom.

Now on to some Emmy news.
Legendary “Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek posthumously won the Daytime Emmy award for outstanding game show host on Friday night.
Two of Trebek’s adult children, Matthew Trebek and Emily Trebek, accepted the award on the host’s behalf at the 48th annual award ceremony.
Trebek died in November at age 80 after being diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
“We are so honored to accept this award on behalf of our dad,” Matthew Trebek said on stage. “For as long as we can remember, he was always so proud to be a part of ‘Jeopardy!’ To work on a show that was based on knowledge, risk and [to] challenge people how to think. He loved every bit of it.”
“Over the past 37 years the show became his second family,” Emily Trebek added. “He was always excited to go to work, even during his battle with cancer. He was so fortunate that he was able to do what he loved and we know he not once took it for granted. So on behalf of our family, we thank you so much.”
“Jeopardy!” also won the Daytime Emmy for outstanding game show.
Mike Richards, the show’s executive producer, dedicated the award to Trebek in a video acceptance speech.
“We’ve heard from so many of you since he’s passed and we know how much he meant to you; he meant the world to us as well,” he said.
“He was more than just a game show host, he was a legend — a towering figure,” Richards continued. “And he believed that ‘Jeopardy!’ was more than just a game show. He loved it because it stood for facts, competition and a celebration of intelligence."
Tonight’s posthumous win for Outstanding Host was Trebek’s eighth, concluding a run that began with his first nomination for the award in 1987, his first win in 1989, and several more across the course of his long career. Most recently, he won in both 2019 and 2020; he also has the second-most number of wins in the category, total, coming in only behind Bob Barker of The Price Is Right fame. Jeopardy!, meanwhile, has been at the top of the pack for some time now, with tonight’s victory scoring the show its 17th win in the category overall.
Matthew Trebek and Emily Trebek are the late trivia show host’s children with his second wife, Jean Trebek. The host was also parent to Nicky Trebek with his first wife, Elaine Callei. Nicky Trebek posted a photo of her with her father and siblings in honor of Father’s Day last weekend. “Seems like a minute ago,” she captioned the post.
The Daytime Emmys’ In Memoriam section touched on Trebek’s life and career—as well as those of fellow TV legends Regis Philbin and Larry King, who died in 2020 and early 2021, respectively. Philbin was remembered by his long-time collaborator Kathie Lee Gifford, while King also received a posthumous award, winning for Outstanding Informative Talk Show Host for Larry King Now.
Among those honoring Trebek in taped comments were US First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, "Masked Singer" judge Ken Jeong, "GMA" anchor Robin Roberts, and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. “I got to talk with him a few years ago and he expressed to me how proud he was to be a Canadian,” Trudeau said. “I had to tell him that all Canadians are incredibly proud that he’s one of us as well.”
Trudeau also praised his social consciousness — recalling the 62 acres of land he donated between Nichols and Runyon canyons in LA, a public area called the Trebek Open Space — — and his “legacy of giving.”
Dr. Biden called him “warn and funny” and said she loved how “he brought our families together every evening, racking our brains to keep up with the smartest contestants. Thank you Alex. We miss you.”
Meanwhile, "Jeopardy!: The Greatest of All Time" tied for Outstanding Writing Team for a Daytime Non-Fiction Special with the 2020 Film Independent Spirit Awards.

In the ultimate test of their taste buds, talented chefs, restaurant critics, cookbook authors and accomplished home cooks are competitors vying to win $50,000 in the new high-stakes primetime Food Network show Money Hungry, which airs a sneak peek on Sunday, August 8th at 10pm (all times ET/PT) before moving to its regular timeslot on Tuesday, August 10th at 10pm.
In the five-episode series hosted by Kal Penn, competitors showcase their impressive palates in a series of increasingly complex tasting challenges that push their senses and culinary knowledge to the limits. With each dish dramatically revealed under a cloche, the action begins with sixty seconds of rapid-fire tastings where the competitors must identify specific ingredients, then proceeds to the main course round where the challenges become more difficult with every reveal. Each episode has two guest panelists, who are available to provide limited use "flavor favors" lifelines to competitors. In the end, only those that survive through the final tasting are awarded $50,000.
"Kal's charm, smarts and enthusiasm about food make him the perfect host for Money Hungry," said Courtney White, President, Food Network and Cooking Channel. "We know our viewers will love him in this unexpected role."
"I am obsessed with the ways in which food tells stories, so hosting Money Hungry is a lot of fun," said Penn. "The culinary knowledge and amazing palates of the competitors was so impressive - I learned a lot and am excited for viewers to see all the action."
