Game Show Live! starts now.
Colbi O' King: From pub to pub and around the blarney stone, welcome to....
Renowned journalist and New York Times bestselling author Katie Couric will make history as the first female host in "Jeopardy!" history. Couric will step in to host the game show for two weeks, beginning March 8.
To prepare for her hosting stint, Couric said she watched the show religiously and studied late-host Alex Trebek's ability to move through the program and the way he interacted with contestants. She also reflected on the gameshow's journey and what being able to host the program meant to her.
"I love the show, I love Alex Trebek and I was so inspired by him, especially by his courage toward the end of his life," Couric said. "It's just such an American institution and the opportunity to play a small part in the continuation of the show was just something I didn't want to pass up."
The best advice Couric said she received was to have fun. But she knows the importance her history-making moment carries for representation. "I've always believed that it's critically important to have representation in media; to have women, to have people of color, to have all kinds of people that make up this wonderful country we live in," Couric explained.
She looks to inspire little girls to know that "it's cool to be smart" and hopefully encourage more women to apply for the show -- especially in a moment when Couric finds society is progressing from a time not-so-long-ago when girls would hold back to not seem pushy or smarter than the boys.
"We're championing and celebrating smart girls and women. It's just a crime not to tap that brainpower," Couric said. "Be a sponge, be a lifelong learner and be proud of your intelligence and your knowledge, it's such a gift."
She left women with a motto her mom always told her and her siblings while growing up: "Let 'em know you're there."
Future guest hosts include Dr. Oz, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, NBC News anchor Savannah Guthrie, CNN anchor Anderson Cooper and CNN Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta.

"AMERICA'S GOT TALENT": The 16th season of "America's Got Talent" returns on Tuesday, June 1 (8-10 p.m. ET/PT) with a new set of aspiring performers looking to compete for the ultimate $1 million prize. Executive producer Simon Cowell returns to the star-studded judging panel with global fashion icon Heidi Klum, fan-favorite comedian Howie Mandel and acclaimed actress and international superstar Sofia Vergara. Terry Crews, the dynamic co-star of NBC's "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," also returns as host.
This season promises some of the wildest acts to ever grace the "AGT" stage after an unprecedented number of submissions poured in from across the country.
"America's Got Talent" dominated last summer's landscape and ranked as the #1 series on the Big 4 networks in total viewers and led NBC to 18-49 wins among the Big 4 on every Tuesday night (excluding sports). The show was the most-watched entertainment program nearly every week it aired.
In addition to being on top of the ratings game, "AGT" is also a digital/social phenomenon, having amassed 2.95 billion views across all digital video platforms in 2020 and was ranked the #3 most-social broadcast series last year.
"America's Got Talent" was created by Simon Cowell and is co-produced by Fremantle and Syco Entertainment. Simon Cowell, Sam Donnelly, Jason Raff and Richard Wallace are the executive producers.
"AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR": Season 13 of "American Ninja Warrior," where some of the most elite athletes in the country compete on the world's most difficult obstacle courses, will return on Monday, May 31 (8-10 p.m. ET/PT). Hosts Matt Iseman, Akbar Gbajabiamila and Zuri Hall are all back to call the action, which is set to take place in Seattle, Los Angeles and Las Vegas for the finals.
The new season will feature more than 400 competitors and, for the first time in "ANW" history, the age limit to compete is being lowered to 15 years old.
Ninja Warrior is a sport that has been rapidly growing across the country and kids of all ages are embracing it in record numbers. Some of today's most promising talent are younger competitors and now teenagers will have the chance to compete alongside adult athletes. A top prize of $1 million will go to the winner if they can conquer all four stages at the National Finals in Las Vegas. To get there, competitors will need to make it through the qualifying rounds and semifinals.
Last season "American Ninja Warrior" reached 35 million viewers.
The series is executive produced by A. Smith & Co. Productions' founders Arthur Smith and Kent Weed along with Brian Richardson, Anthony Storm and Kristen Stabile.
"MAKING IT" From executive producers and Emmy Award-nominated hosts Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman, "Making It" returns for a third season on Thursday, June 3 (8-9 p.m. ET/PT), reuniting two of pop culture's biggest BFFs and celebrating the creativity and craftiness in all of us.
This season's eight episodes highlight how making things brings together communities, friends, neighbors and families, serving as a reminder of the importance of positivity and imagination, which is needed now more than ever. Eight of the most talented makers from across the country will take on a variety of handmade projects with the hopes of impressing Poehler, Offerman and trend expert Dayna Isom Johnson and creative visionary/author Simon Doonan as judges. Jimmy DiResta returns as the Wood Shop Master.
Every episode revolves around a central theme that draws inspiration from hugely popular, nationwide trends in crafting and DIY, which the whole family can enjoy. First, the "faster-craft" round tests their ability to not only work quickly but imaginatively as well. Next, the makers move to the "master craft," a one-of-a-kind themed challenge in which the competitors will need to use their expertise and innovation in order to assemble a winning craft that fits the theme of that week. New this season is the first-ever Mega Craft challenge, which will span an entire episode and allow the makers to better showcase their skills.
"Making It" blends the atmosphere of a serene outdoor setting and innovative cinematography designed to showcase the beautiful craftsmanship at work. This friendly competition series focuses on the character and camaraderie of the crafting community and through it all, Poehler and Offerman provide heartfelt encouragement, guidance and plenty of laughs.
Last season "Making It" reached 20 million viewers and saw a 130% increase from its live + same day telecast. Amy Poehler, Nicolle Yaron, Nick Offerman, Dave Becky, Pip Wells and Kate Arend will executive produce. The series is produced by Universal Television Alternative Studio in association with Paper Kite Productions and 3 Arts Entertainment..
TV Studios and Nippon TV today announce Stacking It!, a brand-new global format created through the co-development deal agreed between the two companies last year. Announced to buyers by Mike Beale, MD Global Creative Network at ITV Studios, and Tom Miyauchi, Format Producer of International Business Development at Nippon TV, during ITV Studios’ London Screenings Formats Festival session, Stacking It! is a large-scale family entertainment game show with prizes galore, but contestants will only be able to take home…what they can stack.
The format will be officially premiered to the international market at the MIPTV Formats Accelerator sessions on Friday 9th April at 09.30am CET.
Each company will produce the new series in their respective territories. Nippon TV will manage the sales of the new format across Asia, with ITV Studios representing the show internationally and producing it in those territories where it has an unscripted production base.
Mike Beale said: "We’ve been living in strange times this past year, but it is said that events like those we have witnessed lead to great steps in innovation and the ways we work - and that could not be more true of our collaboration with Nippon. We’re very excited to be launching Stacking It! next month, when people will be able to get the full story, see exclusive clips and meet the creators of the show, including ITV Studios label, Gameface, to explain how it all works.”
Tom Miyauchi said: “I am extremely proud to bring our new format to the industry. It originated from our creator Keita Ono's crazy idea about families stacking everyday items from their homes to win prizes. Then, working with ITV Studios we elevated it to the next level as a studio game show on a global scale. The collaboration with the amazing team at ITV Studios was a leading co-production of the current times where both parties are extremely committed to creating a new format in a new way. The pilot that we are currently producing will be unveiled at MIPTV on April 9th and I am confident that it will spark conversations online.”

The Cube will be back on ITV later in 2021 with applications now open to take part.
Following the success of last year’s Million Pound specials, the award-winning hit show The Cube will be back on ITV and ITV Hub for a new series.
Phillip Schofield returns to preside over the nerve-wracking gameshow, which sees contestants attempt seemingly simple tasks within the high-pressure confines of the iconic, and often punishing Perspex box.
Airing last October, The Million Pound Cube proved to be the biggest series of the show since 2014 according to ITV. The new six-part series will once again see pairs of contestants, from the same household, take on the ferocity of The Cube.
ITV tease: "As well as facing solo games, contestants will also face brand new two player challenges as they demonstrate skill and determination by braving The Cube, in the hope of winning a major cash prize.
"Each pair has nine lives to complete seven games, each worth an increasing amount of money, as they move closer to the £250,000 jackpot. Players will have to overcome extreme nerves and frustration as they take on deceivingly simple tasks, but can they beat the tyrant that is The Cube?"

Hi.........YA!
Lifestyle expert, acclaimed cookbook author and Emmy(R) Award-winning television personality, Martha Stewart is taking over the Chopped kitchen in the new, five-episode stunt Chopped: Martha Rules, premiering Tuesday, April 13th at 9pm ET/PT on Food Network. Set in an outdoor kitchen in Kennebunkport, Maine, Martha calls the shots and changes all the rules, any way she wants, as sixteen fearless chefs must compete and learn to pivot to stay in the running for the $50,000 grand prize.
Hosted by Ted Allen, each hour-long episode features four chefs working with a mystery basket of ingredients through three rounds - appetizer, entrée, and dessert - as they are challenged to create unique and delicious meals in a limited amount of time. But Martha has big surprises in store, turning Chopped upside down with curveballs thrown at the competitors every step of the way, including Martha taking control of the clock knocking the chefs off their game and adding a surprise fifth chef to battle against the competitors that make it to the dessert round. Joining Martha at the judges table are Marc Murphy and Marcus Samuelsson, who determine the winners from the preliminary heats that will meet in the finale for a chance to take home the pay day. Which champion can keep their head in the game, no matter what obstacles Martha throws in their path, and who will be chopped?
"Martha Stewart is the definitive authority for all things lifestyle, and there is no one better at making all the rules," said Courtney White, President, Food Network. "Set in one of Martha's favorite locations, beautifully rustic and scenic Kennebunkport, the challenges presented to the chefs have Martha's signature style written all over them."
